The deity standing before the bronze cauldron has a red face, arms wrapped in fire serpents, and feet stepping on fire turtles. In hand, it holds a wooden puppet painted with gold lacquer, with a red dot on its forehead.
It certainly represents the will of Xuan South Duke. As it puts the puppet into the bronze cauldron, it speaks: "This person is so obstinate, it is feared he cannot be tamed. Should he become Moroughna, it may bring future disasters."
Xuan South Duke, at this moment, doesn’t appear as temperless as when speaking with Tiger Taisui; his voice is gentle, yet carries a heavy authority.
Night Bodhisattva casually remarks: "How old is he now? How many years has he lived in the present world? How many friends and relatives does he have over there? When he spreads branches and leaves here, begets offspring, and over time, his self-perception will naturally change."
"Emotions aren’t innately present; they arise through interaction."
"We must believe in the power of time."
"You can also believe in the power of the Black Lotus Temple."
The red-faced deity originally intended to say more, but upon hearing the last sentence, it closed its mouth.
Indeed, time is enough to erase everything; the emotions of living beings are not easily worn away. The Black Lotus Temple has more than enough methods to thoroughly control someone like Xiong Sansi—a few of these methods cannot be transcended by will.
Just like how if Tiger Taisui simply wanted to crush Xiong Sansi’s will, Xiong Sansi wouldn’t be any better off than Lingxihua now. It is precisely to preserve Xiong Sansi’s hatred and his vigorous vitality and ambition that he has the opportunity to hate, to rage, to persist, or to despair.
The body and soul are subject to manipulation, love and hate are difficult to control.
Below the absolute summit, all are ants—so real and despairing.
It slowly turns back, glances at the sky before its gaze returns to the bronze cauldron, mumbling a sentence under its breath: "Quan Yingyang is truly living backward."
Ji Xingkong does not care about Quan Yingyang. Chan Fayuan and Tiger Taisui are both out of the game, the Knowledge and Hearing Bell is already in the bag. He kicked Tiger Taisui from the God Enthronement Platform, waiting for this moment. He had preemptively laid out plans for Xiong Sansi specifically for this time.
His conversation with Xuan South Duke cannot be heard by Xiong Sansi, yet his soothing and caring words repeatedly comfort Xiong Sansi’s heart.
The World Honored One has transmitted the teachings with the Eight Divisions of Heavenly Dragons.
Though the Monster Realm Buddhism is self-contained, it has also inherited much.
Ancient Nan Mountain substitutes the Dragon Crowd with the Snake Crowd, still calling it the Eight Divisions of Heavenly Dragons.
The Black Lotus Temple established the Eight Divisions of Ghosts and Gods, competing with Ancient Nan Mountain, a contention long-standing.
But as the Light King Tathagata once said—"Eight Divisions, Seven Ghosts, the Dharma is hard to fully achieve."
The Black Lotus Temple’s Eight Divisions of Ghosts and Gods are unstable at their foundation, a fatal flaw. It also makes it difficult for them to legitimately challenge the orthodox status of Ancient Nan Mountain.
Today, Tiger Taisui exhausts himself, in his pursuit of transcendence, has created a new and immeasurably potential race.
Ji Xingkong’s strategic shifting utilizes the Spirit Clan to achieve Moroughna, effectively compensating for weaknesses, enriching the potential of Ghosts and Gods Eight Divisions.
For the Ancient Imperial City, placing the Spirit Clan within the Eight Divisions of Ghosts and Gods, controlled by the Black Lotus Temple, can be considered as caging beasts to avoid future troubles.
Should this come to fruition, the Spirit Clan’s threat is controlled, the Black Lotus Temple’s foundation is supplemented, and Xiong Sansi can be freed from suffering—a win-win for all, except Tiger Taisui.
Or, if he feels inclined, he too can join Moroughna to celebrate together, co-create a prosperous age of the Black Lotus. The Black Lotus Temple is an outside-the-world place, also opens a convenient gate.
Of course, Ji Xingkong would not proactively say this, lest Tiger Taisui comes fighting desperately. Thus, he waits for Tiger Taisui to realize on his own.
"Ku Hai is boundless, on the Other Shore Lotus blooms." Night Bodhisattva chants the final Buddhist scripture. His compassionate voice seems to soothe the world’s desolation and should rightly direct warmth towards Xiong Sansi, guiding his path.
But curled up within the sea of clouds, Xiong Sansi has no response. He remains locked in a tragic confrontation, continuing his infinite cycle of suffering.
Xiong Sansi cannot possibly not hear these words, as Night Bodhisattva’s words ought to reach him, he has no qualification not to hear.
Thus, silence is a form of rejection.
Ji Xingkong considered many possibilities, but not this one.
Not that it doesn’t exist, but Moroughna symbolizes greatly meaningful Buddhist power, Ghosts and Gods Eight Divisions require an autonomous soul, a life-filled race, rather than mere puppets. Therefore, he didn’t restrict Xiong Sansi’s freedom of choice.
To be tangible, with just a belief-insect here, the power he conveys is minuscule, unable to accomplish much. Otherwise, he would have long teamed up with Xuan South Duke to overthrow Tiger Taisui.
Yet...
How could it be?
Why would Xiong Sansi refuse?
He is so afflicted, so desperate!
He has tried every effort, yet all have failed!
His fate was already determined the moment it caught Tiger Taisui’s attention.
From Thousand Tribulations Cave to Purple Wu Hill, and then to Shenxiao World.
He accomplishes nothing, does he still not understand?
Follow up on the earlier reached accord, join Black Lotus Temple, become the creator of Moroughna, he can escape Ku Hai, having all he desires.
What reason does he have to refuse?
The name Jiang Wang flashes through his mind—a man doomed to die for killing Shujia Lan, and a fellow countryman Xiong Sansi unilaterally identifies as a comrade-in-arms.
Night Bodhisattva solemnly says: "An ordained demon does not speak false words. The young genius you wished to help escape is already dead. Quan Yingyang has severed his head and is returning back. Do you wish to kill Quan Yingyang to avenge this?"
