Chapter 2245: Cut in Half, Blocked Path
Successfully making it back to the Northern Central Region, both Qing Yi and Chun Hua thought they were going to have an easy path back to the Star Shattering Sect. After all, the local major powers wouldn’t cause any problems for them and their strength was more than strong enough to deal with most wandering cultivators who might come looking for trouble with them during the last stretch of the journey back to the Star Shattering Sect.
And as they travelled through the major power bordering the Western Central Region, they did indeed find themselves exceptionally relaxed, as no one came to cause them trouble. On the contrary, the few local powers they ended up encountering along the way were more than happy to give them a place to stay for the night whenever they passed through a city or town.
Compared to their time in the Yellow Peak Region, this was a far better experience and at the same time also gave the two of them some time to help guide the little monk on his cultivation during the journey. Helping him lay down a proper foundation in preparation for breaking through to the Foundation Establishment Realm in the future.
This relaxing journey lasted for a total of two entire weeks, before they suddenly realized that the path they had been planning back to the Star Shattering Sect wasn’t possible.
Not because something catastrophic had happened that had destroyed the original path, but instead because the Blue Sea Empire along with other small kingdoms and empires along the path had already fallen to the demonic cultivators. Essentially splitting the Northern Central Region into two. Making travel from one side of the Northern Central Region to the other side difficult.
It wasn’t just them who were troubled by this turn of events, but even the local major powers seemed to be troubled by this, as the original trade routes that had existed connecting the now two parts of the Northern Central Region had been split in half. Isolating the two sections of the Northern Central Region from one another.
Trade was still possible, but it took far longer compared to the past and needed one to travel through the Southern Central Region, a place that was far from safe, with not many merchant caravans daring to make the journey.
For now, according to the local powers Qing Yi and Chun Hua had visited so far, the situation had ended up in a wait and see state, with the different major powers on either side deciding it was best to not do anything and instead just wait to see how things were going to develop.
After all, though it might be unlikely for the demonic cultivators to leave on their own, there was a good chance that the major powers from the Southern Central Region decided to interfere and push the demonic cultivators back to the Frozen Wasteland.
The main reason behind this being that several major powers from the Southern Central Region relied on trade with the different major powers from the Northern Central Region and would be affected by the demonic cultivators disrupting trade throughout the entire region.
Only because of the current chaos that was spreading through the Southern Central Region had those major powers who might have originally stepped in to handle the situation been forced to focus their attention elsewhere.
Of course, none of this mattered to Qing Yi, Chun Hua and the little monk, as all they knew was that the path back to the sect had been blocked by the demonic cultivators.
And while Qing Yi and Chun Hua were confident in their own strength, there was no way they dared travel through the Blue Sea Empire now under the control of the demonic cultivators. Knowing that even with a peaceful agreement between the Star Shattering Sect and these demonic cultivators, the agreement in question only pertained to neither side attempting to invade the others territory.
If a disciple of the Star Shattering Sect ended up recklessly charging into the Frozen Wastelands or the territory under the control of these demonic cultivators, there was nothing much the Star Shattering Sect could say if a senior demonic cultivator decided to step in and deal with them.
For this reason, though there was a chance they could negotiate their way through the Blue Sea Empire with the demonic cultivators, Qing Yi and Chun Hua didn’t dare take the risk. Leaving them with only a few options when it came to getting back to the Star Shattering Sect again.
One was to turn back the way they had come and go below and around the Frozen Wasteland, while the other would be for them to travel over the Blue Sea Empire through the Southern Central Region.
Both carried their own risk, but with the chaos that should be about to play out within the Western Central Region by now. Going back the way they had come wasn’t exactly a good idea.
Not to mention how the journey of going down below the Frozen Wasteland from the Western Central Region. Travelling through the outer regions and edge regions of the continent was bound to be a journey that would take them years to complete with their current strength.
By the time they ended up getting back to the sect again, there was a good chance that the little monk following them hadn’t just broken through to the Foundation Establishment Realm, but had already stepped into the Core Formation Realm under their guidance...
Just thinking about this was more than enough to make the two of them give up any plans of turning back around. Leaving only the choice of moving above the Blue Sea Empire by going through the Southern Central Region.
Sure, the trip would undoubtedly be a dangerous one, but with chaos already spreading through the Southern Central Region from what they had heard so far on their journey, along with Yellow Peak Region attracting even more people from the Southern Central Region, it might be the safest time for them to travel through the Southern Central Region.
Well... At least the outer parts of the Southern Central Region...
And so, Qing Yi, Chun Hua and the little monk shifted direction and began their journey towards the Southern Central Region.
To ensure that they would be as safe as possible during this journey through the Southern Central Region, they made sure to tag along a merchant caravan that had already made the trip several times already, something that wasn’t too difficult, as just displaying their strength was more than enough to convince those merchants to take them along.
After all, while Domain Lord Realm cultivators weren’t exactly rare in the Northern Central Region, with both having reached the Initial Stage of the Dao Domain Lord Realm, their outwards strength was comparable to someone at the second or third tribulation of the Soul Ascension Realm.
Strength like this, even in the Northern Central Region, was more than enough to gain respect and admiration. More than enough to convince a merchant caravan to bring them along, as in their eyes, it was better to have more strength on their side than less.
By the time they set out for the Southern Central Region following the merchant caravan, the caravan itself had already grown beyond what either of the two predicted, as the caravan itself wasn’t just made up from several flying vessels, but also had a powerful figure at the Dao Seed Realm cultivator belonging to the major power whose territory they found themselves in, leading them.
This kind of line up was more than enough to deal with most troublemakers that might come their way during their brief time within the Southern Central Region, while at the same time also highlighting just how important this trade caravan was.
But in the end, it was understandable as this was essentially the only link between the two parts of the Northern Central Region that had been split by the demonic cultivators and their takeover of the Blue Sea Empire.
If anything, it wouldn’t be surprising if there was someone at the Celestial Immortal Realm discreetly following the caravan as it made its way through the Southern Central Region.
And the importance of this caravan along with how they had been able to successfully tag along was the best thing to ever happen during this journey back to the sect in the eye of Qing Yi and Chun Hua, as they could now rely on this powerful force they were tagging along to safely make it through the most dangerous part of the journey.
In fact, they weren’t the only ones tagging along the merchant caravan like this, as there was no lack of wandering cultivators who similarly wanted to cross over to the other side of the Northern Central Region and feared doing so on their own.
The main difference was that those below the Domain Lord Realm had to pay a fee to join the caravan, with only someone at the Domain Lord Realm or above having the ability to tag along for free in exchange for helping make the caravan look more imposing from the outside.
