Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

Chapter 937: Authority In The Greater World Is Truly Important

After a rough journey through the teleportation formation, Lin Moyu returned to the Planet No. 98-1 with lingering fear in his eyes.

When he had arrived at the teleportation formation earlier, a crowd had swarmed around him, surrounding him like a rare animal in a zoo.

The female cultivators were especially bold, their enthusiasm almost too much for him to handle.

Their gazes were unabashed, and some had even been ready to lay their hands on him.

It had taken everything he had to break through the crowd, activate the teleportation formation, and escape.

"That was genuinely frightening!"

Lin Moyu had never expected the female cultivators of the greater world to be so wild and uninhibited.

Since arriving in the greater world, he had not interacted with many female cultivators.

Gu Qingxuan was the one he had interacted with the most.

She was reserved, generous, and straightforward, making her easy to get along with.

Lin Moyu had assumed that all female cultivators in the greater world were like her.

Clearly, he had been mistaken.

He had overlooked one of the greater world's most fundamental rules: respect belonged to the strong.

Lin Moyu's performance had been so extraordinary that he possessed all the qualities needed to become a powerful expert.

With someone like him, how could he possibly not attract attention?

Returning to the Mission Center, Lin Moyu walked up to the counter to submit his mission.

There, he met Lin Xiaoyu again. The two sisters looked remarkably alike, although the younger sister was noticeably shyer and lacked her elder sister's maturity.

Completing a mission allotted ten days in just half a day was enough to guarantee an excellent evaluation.

It was the first of the ten required missions in his chain mission.

If not for the events that had occurred afterward, he could have completed it in less than two hours.

Even so, half a day was still an astonishingly fast result.

Another entry appeared on his completed-mission list.

[Clear Vermilion Bird Uninhabited Star System No. 000077] was marked as completed and removed from the general bulletin, making it unavailable for re-acceptance.

Rather than accept another mission, Lin Moyu headed straight for the Trading Center.

He had obtained more than ten thousand Starlight Cores. Aside from the hundred required for his mission, he intended to sell the rest.

They were of little use to him, so converting them into points was the better choice.

The Trading Center was as bustling as ever.

After being away for several days, Lin Moyu spotted several familiar faces—the same traders whose goods had yet to sell.

"What a waste of time." Lin Moyu shook his head inwardly.

He respected their choices, but he would never do the same.

Low-level inhabited planets contained few valuable items.

Most of what they produced was below the True God-grade and of little use to him.

He stepped into the Trading Center, swept his gaze across the hall, and quickly located Qiu Yan.

"Arrange a trading room for me." Lin Moyu went straight to the point.

As a returning customer, there was no need for unnecessary pleasantries.

Although he did not know the exact value of a Starlight Core, it was certainly worth no less than Starfire Metal.

The value of this transaction would easily exceed ten thousand points.

Qiu Yan bowed with a smile, "Understood, Senior Lin. Please wait a moment while I arrange it for you."

He did not ask what Lin Moyu intended to sell. Every staff member had their own responsibilities.

Qiu Yan was in charge of reception, while handling merchandise was outside his authority.

Overstepping one's authority was strictly forbidden under the human race's rigorous rules.

These rules had their roots in ancient history.

The human race had once suffered greatly because of a lack of organization, eventually forcing it to establish a strict hierarchical system.

This system served not only as a restriction but also as a form of protection.

However, such rules had only truly become effective after the creation of the Human Emperor Network.

The greater world was simply too vast. Without the Human Emperor Network, managing things under such a strict system would have been impossible.

Lin Moyu had read some materials on the subject and understood that he had only scratched the surface of the human race's structure in the greater world.

Only by continuously increasing his authority would he gain access to deeper secrets.

Qiu Yan moved quickly, setting up the trading room in just two minutes.

"Senior, it's Trading Room No. 003 again." Qiu Yan said with a smile as he led the way.

Lin Moyu remarked, "Three times in a row in the same room. That's quite a coincidence."

Qiu Yan explained, "Our Trading Center has a rule. If a customer isn't dissatisfied with their previous transaction, we assign them the same trading room and trading specialist on their next visit."

"Of course, if you have any other preferences, we'll do our best to accommodate you."

Lin Moyu chuckled and shook his head, "No need. Familiarity is nice."

Inside the trading room, Lin Xiaoyu had already boiled the water and brewed the tea.

When she saw Lin Moyu, her eyes curved into lovely crescents, "Senior Lin, we meet again."

Without standing on ceremony, Lin Moyu sat down at the table, "Indeed, we do."

He took a sip of tea and nodded, "Not bad. This tea is better than last time."

It had been brewed by the same person using exactly the same technique, which meant the difference lay in the tea leaves themselves.

The previous tea had been good, but ordinary.

This batch was distinctly different.

As soon as he drank it, he could sense a faint trace of law flowing through his body.

Wherever it passed, his body naturally relaxed, while his mind became clearer and more refreshed.

"Do you grade your customers and serve them different teas accordingly?"

Lin Xiaoyu's smile widened, carrying a hint of playfulness, "Senior Lin, you guessed correctly. There is indeed such a rule, though the tea is determined by your authority."

"I see. It seems authority is truly important in the greater world." Lin Moyu lightly tapped the table, coming to a deeper understanding.

Lin Xiaoyu refilled his cup with hot water, releasing an even richer aroma.

"The second infusion tastes even better, Senior Lin. Please give it a try."

She seemed in no hurry to conduct the transaction, instead choosing to chat with him.

Her bright eyes sparkled with genuine curiosity.

Lin Moyu took another sip.

The flavor was indeed superior, and the presence of law was even more pronounced, producing an even stronger mind-refreshing effect.

Lin Xiaoyu asked softly, "Senior, do you come from a small world?"

Lin Moyu nodded, "That's right."

"You're truly amazing, Senior. To cultivate from a small world all the way to the Transcendent God realm... That's a one-in-a-million achievement."

Her praise was sincere, without the slightest hint of pretense.

Lin Moyu smiled, "I was just fortunate. Our small world produced quite a few Transcendent Gods. They eventually brought everyone out with them."

"You mean... the entire race migrated out of the small world?" Lin Xiaoyu's eyes widened in disbelief.

Lin Moyu nodded, "Yes. The entire race entered the greater world. But that was several thousand years ago, and I have no idea how they're doing now."

Lin Xiaoyu tilted her head, her expression thoughtful, "Several thousand years ago... An entire race migrating into the greater world... I feel like I've heard about this somewhere before."

"Oh?" Lin Moyu paused, intrigued.

His small world belonged to this very sector of the starry sky, so it was entirely possible that Lin Xiaoyu had heard something about it.

Lin Xiaoyu thought for a moment but couldn't recall the details, "I'm sorry, Senior. I can't remember right now. When I return home, I'll search through our records. Maybe I can find something."

Lin Moyu smiled, "It seems your family is quite extraordinary as well."

Lin Xiaoyu's face flushed slightly, "It's nothing extraordinary. Our family is simply a little older than most, so we have records of many historical events."

"Actually, once your authority reaches level 5, Senior, you'll be able to access many of those ancient records yourself."

"The Human Emperor Network keeps records of everything throughout history."
