Chapter 412: Chapter 329: That’s Right, I Did It
Lust tilted its head, watching the Feathered Serpent God rear its head high. ’Just a Magical Beast that’s undergone Evil God Transformation,’ it thought.
But the more at ease Lust appeared, the more enraged the Feathered Serpent became. It raised its head, electricity crackling in its maw, then unleashed a thick stream of current directly at Lust.
KRAKOOM! The lightning strike blasted the ground, kicking up a massive cloud of dust. The smell of scorched earth and smoke filled the air, completely obscuring Lust’s body.
"Hisss—" The Feathered Serpent flicked its forked tongue, glancing contemptuously at the dust cloud.
It then flapped its wings, preparing to take to the sky and strike down the scattering, fleeing goblins with its lightning.
But after a few beats of its wings, its gaze snapped back to the dust cloud. Instinct told it that its foe was still there.
"Such a powerful Lightning Technique. Very impressive, indeed." A voice rang out from the dust cloud again. Clearly, that vexing "goblin" was still around.
The Feathered Serpent stared intently at the dust cloud. As a forest breeze swept through, the dust quickly dissipated, and Lust’s form was revealed once more.
It looked nothing like it had before. Lust’s Clone now resembled a goblin that had been torn into several pieces and then stuck back together. Though it maintained a humanoid shape, large portions of its body were now missing. It blinked its left eye, the corner of its mouth twitching into a smile as it spoke. "You can be my opponent."
The Feathered Serpent God’s eyes were locked on the "goblin" standing in place. Instinct told it this enemy was no simple foe. Even with its goblin appearance, its left thigh had vanished, yet its left calf still stood on the ground. The right side of its abdomen was gone entirely, revealing the writhing organs within. Only the upper part of its left arm remained; the forearm had vanished into thin air. More ghastly still was its head—the entire right side of its face, along with the top of its skull, was missing.
And yet, despite all this, the "goblin" remained standing there, perfectly calm, the smile on its face declaring, ’I’m fine. There’s no problem at all.’
An ordinary goblin in this state would be long dead, deader than dead. "Who in the world are you?"
"Me? I’m just a child looking for something I lost." Lust spread its arms and smiled, but given its state, the gesture was utterly grotesque.
"A child?" A cold glint flashed in the Feathered Serpent Evil God’s serpentine eyes. The answer was clearly a brush-off, but it had more faith in its own power. CRACKLE! The sound of electricity returned as sparks once again lit up the Feathered Serpent God’s maw. It decided to launch a few more lightning strikes to see just how many pieces of this strange "goblin" would be left.
"So irritable," Lust said, shaking its head calmly. "Can’t you feel how cold the night is?"
Its one remaining left eye was now red and blue. The two colors swirled and morphed into one another like pigments on a palette, exuding a psychedelic, bizarre aura.
Hearing Lust’s words, the Feathered Serpent God froze. Its cold, serpentine eyes gradually glazed over as if it had fallen into some kind of Illusion Realm.
"Winter is so cold," Lust said with a hint of a smile. It even wrapped its arms around itself and shivered. "You feel it too, don’t you? After all, you’re a snake. This cold must be quite uncomfortable."
As Lust continued to speak, the Feathered Serpent God began to coil its body. It no longer showed any hostility, instead lowering its proudly raised head.
"Don’t be like that. You can warm yourself up," Lust continued, taking a step forward. The red and blue in its left eye began to spin rapidly, and at the same time, an invisible wave of energy spread out from its body. "You’re cold. Go on, warm yourself."
The moment Lust’s voice faded, the Feathered Serpent God raised its head again, a brilliant light flaring in its maw. Then, lowering its head, it unleashed the stream of current directly onto its own body.
The sound of CRACKLING was incessant as the current struck the Feathered Serpent’s body. In moments, several of its scales were blasted loose, flying off in all directions.
But the Feathered Serpent God, as if feeling nothing, continued to spew lightning. The current raked across its body from head to tail until it was covered in wounds.
All the while, Lust watched the Feathered Serpent God with a smile. Its left eye continued to spin, its tattered form completely motionless.
"Hisss—" A pained hiss escaped it. The Feathered Serpent God had finally broken free from the Illusion Realm. It raised its head, eyes filled with venomous hatred as it stared at the "goblin" before it. "Who are you?"
The pain made its voice tremble, but Lust simply maintained its smile. "Not bad. You actually managed to break free from my Sound of the Demon."
A flicker of fear crossed the Feathered Serpent God’s eyes. It spat another thick stream of current at Lust, and then, without waiting for a reaction, immediately flapped its wings and shot into the sky.
"How clever." Lust’s voice rang out from the dust cloud, making the Feathered Serpent God shudder once more. Without a moment’s hesitation, it flapped its wings and sped away to the east.
"Runs pretty fast." The dust slowly settled, revealing Lust’s figure once more. This time, even less of its body remained. But bizarrely, even though it was now severed in two, it still maintained the shape of a goblin.
’No catching it now.’ It gazed into the distance, confirming that the Feathered Serpent Evil God was far enough away. Only then did it turn its ruined "body" and glance toward Shire with a hint of apprehension.
