Chapter 516 - 398: Pandemonium of Devils Heavy Losses

Chapter 516: Chapter 398: Pandemonium of Devils, Heavy Losses

With a deafening roar, the stone door shattered, scattering into countless fragments and revealing a dark passageway behind it.

"Such powerful Sword Intent!" Beidou Divine Fist Qu Zhaocheng’s eyes grew solemn as he felt the lingering Sword Intent in the air.

’The Cloud Concealed Sword...’ Chen Ping’an felt a faint sense of dread.

The Sword Intent of that strike was immense, its edge razor-sharp, its Power of Slaughter overwhelming! An ordinary Grandmaster would have been unable to parry it.

If that strike had landed on him, even wearing the Profound Ice Silk Armor and pushing his Divine Skill to its limits, he would probably have...

...had his skin broken!

Amidst the crowd’s gasps of astonishment, Feng Wuhen sheathed his sword. He stood proudly before the entrance to the passageway, his posture as straight and tall as a lone crane among the pines, exuding an ineffable air of nonchalance and pride.

This was the panache of a Sword Master, and the romance that came with it.

He slowly turned, his gaze falling gently and expectantly upon the woman standing nearby. He hoped to catch a glimmer of surprise, praise, or admiration in her eyes.

Gu Qingchan’s eyes were clear and as calm as still water. The incredible strike from moments ago seemed not to have moved her in the slightest.

A flicker of disappointment crossed Feng Wuhen’s mind, but he instantly brushed it aside.

"Qing Chan, we can go in now."

Gu Qingchan gave a slight nod and started toward the dark passageway. As she passed Feng Wuhen, a faint, alluring fragrance made his heart skip a beat. He composed himself and quickly followed her in. With the situation inside unknown, he would never let her face it alone.

Situ Ba, Qu Zhaocheng, and the others followed close behind.

"Move in!"

"Yes, sir!" The crowd cheered in unison, brandishing their weapons as they headed into the passageway.

Watching the others, Chen Ping’an took a light step and followed them inside.

BOOM!

He had barely stepped inside when a massive crash echoed from within.

’Found them already?’ Chen Ping’an remained composed as he rushed deeper into the passageway. In the presence of the other Grandmasters, he hadn’t been using his perception at full strength, keeping it locked within a very small radius.

"We’ve found them! The Ten Thousand Demon Thieves are here! Take them down!"

BOOM!

As the shouts echoed from the passageway, the faces of those still outside lit up with excitement.

"Son of a bitch, we finally found them!"

"Just as we thought. They’re here."

"Nowhere to run, you Ten Thousand Demon Thieves!"

"..."

Everyone surged forward, but the narrowness of the passageway prevented too many from entering at once. With so many Grandmasters present, they were completely at ease. To them, discovering the hideout of the Ten Thousand Demon Thieves meant that glory was already within their grasp.

When glory was on the line, who wouldn’t be eager?

Aside from the small contingent left to stand guard outside, everyone else rushed toward the passageway.

Fortunately, they were all elites from the Garrison Commandant’s Office and various major powers, so the overall procession remained within the bounds of control.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The passageway was long and narrow. Before Chen Ping’an had even reached the end, a series of roars echoed from deep within. The Spiritual Energy between his brows flickered, and he instantly sensed a chaotic storm of violent auras in the distance.

’It’s the Ten Thousand Demons Grandmasters!’

WHOOSH!

Chen Ping’an’s figure blurred into motion, the Earth Crocodile Golden Flame Saber in his hand.

The passageway opened into an extremely spacious cavern. Here, the allied elites were already locked in a chaotic melee with the thieves of the Ten Thousand Demons Sect.

As Chen Ping’an’s gaze swept across the scene, a look of utter astonishment crossed his face.

’Six Ten Thousand Demons Grandmasters! Why are there so many?’

In the cavern, six unfamiliar auras clashed with the likes of the wielders of the Cloud Concealed Sword and the Breaking Army Saber. Violent energies raged as flashes of blood-red light filled the cavern.

"Die!"

A Ten Thousand Demon Thief dove down from above, cloaked in an eerie, blood-red light. He could already picture the young man below lying dead.

’How dare he get distracted in the middle of a siege?’

SWISH!

Without even looking up, Chen Ping’an unleashed a flash of ghostly blue light from his saber. The Ten Thousand Demon Thief’s eyes went wide with disbelief as he crashed to the ground, falling into a pool of his own blood.

RUMBLE...

A loud rumble echoed. A flash of Spiritual Light went through Chen Ping’an as he realized the narrow, dark passageway behind him was beginning to collapse. Not only that, but a series of bloodcurdling screams echoed from its other end.

Plumes of blood-red mist suddenly descended from above, spreading with incredible speed.

"Poisonous mist!"

Chen Ping’an’s expression changed; he instantly knew something was wrong.

"This is bad!"

"It’s an ambush!"

"Argh!"

"Damn it!"

"..."

The blood-red mist seemed to contain a strange toxin. The moment one came into contact with it, they felt their entire body go limp and sore as their True Qi became sluggish. Many of the elites were in the middle of fighting the Ten Thousand Demon Thieves. When the mist appeared, it caused their True Qi to stagnate, catching them completely off guard and instantly putting them at a disadvantage.

’What is this poison?’ The Spiritual Energy between Chen Ping’an’s brows flickered as a cyan light flowed around him, warding off the poisonous mist. ’It can even affect a Grandmaster?’

With his current level of Horizontal Body Training, he should have been immune to most poisonous mists. But when he tested it, he found this mist was no ordinary poison; he felt something was wrong the moment it touched him. While it wasn’t enough to completely incapacitate him, it would still affect his performance in a fight.

"Be careful of this blood mist! Use your True Qi to shield your bodies and keep it out!" a voice shouted across the cavern.

Everyone present immediately raised a True Qi Shield. Those who had reached the Profound Light Realm fared better and were able to block the blood mist. But those who hadn’t, though protected by their Inner Qi, were quickly corroded by the mist and collapsed helplessly to the ground.

In a dim, chaotic corner of the battlefield, a thief from the Ten Thousand Demons Sect grinned savagely as he moved to kill an Inner Qi Realm warrior who had collapsed helplessly to the ground.

"Die!" The Ten Thousand Demon Thief’s eyes glinted with bloodlust.

SWISH!

Chen Ping’an’s figure blurred as he slashed out with his saber, a brilliant arc of gray-white and ghostly blue light streaking through the air.

The smile on the Ten Thousand Demon Thief’s face froze. His body was cleaved in two, and blood gushed out, dyeing the ground red and filling the air with its thick, metallic stench.

Waves of immense Martial Arts Will surged like a furious tide.

Inside the cavern, Profound Light flashed and True Essence collided.

The entire scene was utter chaos.
