Chapter 456: Chapter 261: The Contracted Plasma Sacred Beetle

A juvenile Plasma Sacred Beetle serving as the leader creature of the Second Level Wolf Insect Secret Realm was just like Prince Snowfield serving as the leader of the First Level Ice Cave Secret Realm.

It was an extremely rare event!

This juvenile Plasma Sacred Beetle could almost be considered the strongest leader creature one could encounter in any Second Level Secret Realm.

Shen Xuan, who had yet to make any notable contribution to the fight, suddenly let out a loud cry.

He unleashed his Beastmaster Talent, Poison Burst Calculation.

There would always be Leader Level creatures during Secret Realm explorations.

This was common knowledge for all Adventurers in the Guardian Beast World who explored Secret Realms.

Shen Xuan had the Ten Thousand Corrosive Poison Mother sever its silk tendrils, poisoning hundreds of Wolf Insects.

Even though the Wolf Insects had mutated, their genetic templates collapsing due to the Judgment Evil Lotus, their twisted bodies still contained the Ten Thousand Corrosive Poison Mother’s toxins.

Shen Xuan had been waiting for the leader creature to appear. Now, upon seeing the enormous juvenile Plasma Sacred Beetle, he immediately launched his attack on the leader of the Wolf Insect Secret Realm.

As Shen Xuan’s Beastmaster Talent, Poison Burst Calculation, activated, the toxins inside the Wolf Insects’ bodies erupted.

Poison Chains quickly spread through the Wolf Insect Swarm, harvesting the Wolf Insects that were on the brink of death from the mutations.

Ultimately, nearly a thousand Poison Chains shot toward the Plasma Sacred Beetle.

As a giant insectoid Demon, the Plasma Sacred Beetle had considerable resistance to both physical and elemental attacks.

However, its resistance to poison wasn’t particularly high.

As the Poison Chains entered its body, the Plasma Sacred Beetle immediately let out a wail of pain.

Its massive, seemingly clumsy body suddenly reared up, the carapace on its back parting to reveal enormous, semi-translucent Insect Wings with a wingspan of nearly seventy meters. It prepared to charge toward Zhong Yi and the others.

But the Plasma Sacred Beetle’s movement suddenly halted.

The Undead Transformation Luminous Beauty Butterfly, which had been hovering high in the sky, cast the Skill Pearl Butterfly Dance on the Plasma Sacred Beetle.

With the soul tribute from dozens of Butterfly Guardian Beasts, the Soul Strength of the Luminous Beauty Butterfly—which already excelled due to its Soul Talent—had long surpassed the limits of the Extraordinary Tier.

This juvenile Plasma Sacred Beetle’s power had clearly reached the Fantasy Tier.

While it may not have reached Fantasy Tier Peak, had the Fungal Mat not been burned away by Liaoyuan Cluster Fire, the creature could have easily held its own against a Fantasy High Tier Guardian Beast on its home turf.

It might even have had the upper hand.

However, soul-based power was not the Plasma Sacred Beetle’s forte.

Faced with the Luminous Beauty Butterfly, whose Soul Strength had already reached the Fantasy Tier, the beetle was instantly afflicted with Charm the moment the butterfly used its Basic Skill, Pearl Butterfly Dance.

At this moment, the Soul Vein Mother Butterfly flew from its perch in the hair behind Zhong Ling’s head.

Instead, it used the Skill Soul Energy Blessing, which it had obtained upon advancing to the Extraordinary Tier, to temporarily boost the Luminous Beauty Butterfly’s Soul Strength.

Once the Plasma Sacred Beetle was in a Charmed state, the Luminous Beauty Butterfly immediately used Skill Pearl Pity Soul Stealing to repeatedly launch Soul Shocks at it, attempting to plunge the beetle into a state of Deep Charm.

Although the Plasma Sacred Beetle showed no immediate signs of falling into Deep Charm, this gave Shen Xuan, He Guoguo, Zhong Ling, and the others a chance to attack.

Ordinarily, it would have been difficult to harm the Plasma Sacred Beetle with physical or elemental attacks while it was protected by its huge, sturdy carapace.

But in its attempt to initiate an attack, it had prepared to unfurl the Insect Wings beneath its carapace to charge at Zhong Yi’s group.

This left the soft body tissue under its carapace completely exposed.

And so, a Leader Level creature that should have been the nightmare of any Second Level Secret Realm—this juvenile Plasma Sacred Beetle—was effortlessly dispatched while under the Luminous Beauty Butterfly’s control.

In taking down the Plasma Sacred Beetle, the six nearly twenty-meter-tall Bitter Anger Beasts served as the main attackers.

While the Bitter Anger Beasts attacked, the Ten Thousand Corrosive Poison Mother used its Extraordinary Tier Skill, Strong Wrist Poison Sting.

Through its Exclusive Trait, Calamity Poison Entanglement, it inflicted an untold number of layers of the Curse of Calamity Poison onto the Plasma Sacred Beetle.

While under the effects of the Curse of Calamity Poison, each stacking Poison Chain produced a different negative effect.

The stacking of over a thousand Poison Chains induced over a thousand types of negative effects.

Never mind that the Plasma Sacred Beetle was merely an Extraordinary Tier Peak Demon with strength comparable to the Fantasy Tier; even if it had been a genuine Fantasy Tier Demon, it would have found it difficult to muster any resistance after that.

Against an opponent of this size, the Blade Butterflies and Blade Beauty Butterflies controlled by Zhong Ling were somewhat less effective.

Because the Plasma Sacred Beetle’s body was saturated with the Ten Thousand Corrosive Poison Mother’s toxins, Zhong Yi didn’t have them use their wings to slice into the soft, protein-rich flesh beneath the beetle’s carapace.

Otherwise, if the toxic insect blood sprayed onto the wings of the Blade Butterflies and Blade Beauty Butterflies, Zhong Yi would have to heal each of them individually.

Throughout this time, Zhong Yi and Ren Suxin didn’t really have to do much.

Zhong Ling, Shen Xuan, Sun Ya, and He Guoguo worked together to clear the Second Level Wolf Insect Secret Realm outright.

In fact, even if Zhong Yi hadn’t had Sun Ya burn the Fungal Mat, the four of them could have cleared the Wolf Insect Secret Realm just by advancing slowly.

There would have been no need for Zhong Yi to use the Judgment Evil Lotus at all.
