Chapter 433: Chapter 430: Feng Hao’s Martial Arts Talent
"I am Jiutu. Meiyan must have sent you to find me, right?" the Thief Master asked, gazing at West Moon Ridge.
West Moon Ridge nodded, stunned. "Yes."
"That explains it." The Thief Master nodded lightly, then glanced at Feng Hao. "Xiaofeng, head out for a bit. We have something to discuss."
Feng Hao nodded in surprise. He gave them both a confused look and slowly backed out of the sundry shop.
After Feng Hao left, West Moon Ridge looked at the Thief Master, her expression a mixture of shock and doubt. "So, you really are Lord Jiutu?"
"What? Don’t I look the part?" the Thief Master said with a faint smile, pursing his lips.
"No, no, no! It’s just... a bit unexpected," West Moon Ridge said, flustered.
"There’s no need to be so formal. I haven’t been a Guardian of the Holy Hall for a long time," the Thief Master said with a wry laugh. "But speaking of which, how did she know I was in the Ancient Cang Realm?"
Her eyes filled with reverence, West Moon Ridge reported truthfully, "The Sect Leader specially invited an Array Master from the Inner Ring who is familiar with spatial fluctuations. He surveyed the old battlefield and ultimately determined the location where you were swept away by a spatial torrent."
The Thief Master paused, frowning in surprise. "She actually hired a Space Array Master? Was that really necessary?"
"I can tell that the Sect Leader still very much hopes you will return. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have sent me," West Moon Ridge said tentatively.
At her words, an undeniable trace of bitterness flashed in the Thief Master’s eyes. "Returning... let’s just forget about it."
"But..." West Moon Ridge began to say, but the Thief Master cut her off with a wave of his hand.
"There are no buts." The Thief Master sighed wistfully. "Help me pass a message to Meiyan. Tell her what’s past is past. I still have my own mission to complete."
West Moon Ridge wanted to say more, but she found the Thief Master had already vanished. With a helpless sigh, she turned and left.
Outside the sundry shop, Feng Hao saw West Moon Ridge emerge and hurried forward. "Auntie, what did you and the Thief Master talk about?"
"It’s complicated. It’s better that you don’t know." West Moon Ridge sighed, then, to Feng Hao’s astonishment, she flew off directly in her Magic Energy Flying Vehicle.
Feng Hao pouted sullenly. He planned to ask the Thief Master what was going on, but when he returned to the sundry shop, he found the Thief Master was gone too.
’Are they trying to kill me with curiosity?’
Feng Hao cursed silently, speechless. He stopped dwelling on it, locked up the shop, and drove his Mansa to Man Tiaotiao’s house.
For a while now, his life had been a cycle of cultivation and going to Barbarian Three Punches’ place to learn the Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palms. Unfortunately, while he still hadn’t learned the martial art, his gene level had rushed up to forty-four.
Now, over half a month later, the [Magic Tide] had receded, and reaching level forty-five would take quite some time.
When Feng Hao arrived at Barbarian Three Punches’ house, he unexpectedly ran into Yun Jiansong. Speaking of which, he hadn’t seen the guy in a long time, not since he went into seclusion with the Sun Sword Saint.
"Yo, Brother Sword Song, when did you come out of seclusion? Why didn’t you give me a heads-up?" Feng Hao said, walking up to greet him.
Yun Jiansong faltered for a moment, then a slight smile touched his cold, proud face. "I just got out today."
Feng Hao nodded in understanding and couldn’t help but size up the current Yun Jiansong. He had to admit, after the Sun Sword Saint’s training, Yun Jiansong was like a changed man. His isolated pride was now contained, like a sharp sword resting in its scabbard.
"You’re here to see Tiaotiao, aren’t you?" Feng Hao teased with a smirk.
"Mhm." Yun Jiansong nodded awkwardly, the tips of his ears turning bright red.
Speak of the devil. The words had barely left their mouths when Man Tiaotiao came charging out, full of energy. It was obvious she had carefully dressed up, but alas, a tomboy is a tomboy. No amount of dressing up could hide her wild aura.
Man Tiaotiao naturally saw Feng Hao. She quickly pulled Yun Jiansong aside and said fiercely, "Brother Yun Da, you should hang around this idiot less in the future. You might catch his stupidity."
Yun Jiansong looked stunned, while Feng Hao felt lines of exasperation forming on his forehead.
Ever since he started learning the Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palms from Barbarian Three Punches, his complete lack of talent for martial arts had been thoroughly exposed. In Barbarian Three Punches’ own words, he was "dumb as a rock." If it weren’t for the fact that the martial arts movie Crystal Card was related to him, Barbarian Three Punches wouldn’t have wanted to teach him at all.
And as Barbarian Three Punches’ daughter, Man Tiaotiao had been training alongside him the whole time, personally witnessing the struggles of this "martial arts dunce," Feng Hao.
A simple set of martial arts moves that Man Tiaotiao could roughly master in one go might take Feng Hao seven or eight days just to get the hang of.
And so, after "country bumpkin," Feng Hao earned another label in Man Tiaotiao’s eyes: idiot!
"Well... I won’t interrupt your little lovey-dovey time. Let’s grab a drink sometime." Feng Hao gave an awkward smile and, to avoid further scorn from Man Tiaotiao, decisively made an excuse to slip away.
The moment Feng Hao left, Man Tiaotiao immediately switched to a delicate, sweet demeanor and led the dumbfounded Yun Jiansong away.
Entering Barbarian Three Punches’ small villa, Feng Hao saw the blonde beauty, Michelle, hugging a player and watching a melodramatic soap opera. Seeing him come in, she greeted him warmly, "Xiaofeng, you’re here!"
"Mhm." Feng Hao nodded with a light smile. "Is Uncle Man around?"
"He’s waiting for you in the training room." Michelle smiled. "Oh, by the way, Xiaofeng, that Beauty Pill you gave me last time worked wonders. A lot of my friends in my social circle have been asking me about it."
Feng Hao naturally understood what Michelle meant and nodded with a smile. "Don’t worry, Auntie, I’ll bring you more next time."
"Oh, you don’t have to give them to me for free. My friends are richer than the last. Don’t you dare try to save them any money."
Hearing this, Feng Hao couldn’t help but chuckle. After a bit more small talk, he quickly walked into the training room.
The spacious training room was fully equipped with all sorts of exercise equipment. Barbarian Three Punches was shirtless, moving between the various machines. The sharp definition of his muscles rippled with his every movement.
"You’re here?" Barbarian Three Punches grunted, glancing over. "Run through the moves I taught you a few days ago. If you haven’t made any progress again, I really can’t teach you anymore."
Feng Hao shook his head, speechless. He took a deep breath and began to practice the moves, his heart filled with apprehension.
It was strange. As an Assassin known for his agility, Feng Hao’s body should have been very well-coordinated.
But for some reason, while he could master any other movement with ease, he was all kinds of awkward and unnatural whenever he tried to perform martial arts moves. It was as if his entire body had rusted over.
Feng Hao couldn’t figure it out for the life of him.
After all, he was a native-born Huaxia person. Logically speaking, Huaxia martial arts should have been a perfect fit for him!
’Could it be that my body suffered some kind of trauma when I "transmigrated"?’
’But if my body was injured, why don’t I feel this way when I’m using my Assassin’s attack moves?’
And so, with a belly full of doubts, Feng Hao absentmindedly went through a full set of moves.
"Finally, a little bit of progress." Barbarian Three Punches walked up to Feng Hao, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. He shook his head and sighed, "Honestly, I, Barbarian Three Punches, have been in the martial arts world for many years, and this is the first time I’ve ever seen a student so... like you."
