Chapter 650 - Zerg Brain Worm!

Chapter 650: Zerg, Brain Worm!

The thing in the corpse’s was a small component of what seemed to be a chip. After Mu Zi placed this component into the groove in the bracelet.

“Click!”

The bracelet immediately engulfed the chip then automatically released a light that created a screen in the sky as a projection.

A white man in an experimental research suit appeared on the screen.

“Hello, the person who activated this information chip, I’m the biological expert Bear Grylls. First of all, I hope you’re still in the D-1 experimentation lab when you activated this information chip because that’s the best scenario. If not, I hope you or your group have not messed up the things in the experimentation lab before this. If something is moved incorrectly, it could have consequences which would destroy the world.”

“My god, can he not have such a cliche opening.” Upon hearing this, Meng Boss, who was holding his golden greatsword like a door panel while leaning onto an instrument next to him, hurriedly carried the weapon back onto his shoulder.

Originally idling next to a corpse, wanting to see if there would be high-grade consumables in the corpses of the ruins also hurriedly retracted his hands.

Although he knew these were just words from an NPC who left a video recording, they must still have been scared upon hearing them. There is no doubt that when there were words relating to “world destruction,” it instantly attracted everyone’s attention.

“Perhaps, you all might think I am being over-cautious and purposefully exaggerating, but after seeing all these projections, you all would understand.” The image on the projection was transformed into a battle scene with all sorts of chaotic sounds.

“Boom…”

A large, six-legged, dark red crustacean, which is like a bug creature, was frantically storming toward an NPC with six-tube electromagnetic machine guns.

They had very hard-shelled crustaceans and they needed at least a hundred rounds fired into them to die under the constantly firing of six tubes of electromagnetic machinery.

Their jumping ability was super scary, as they were able to jump more than a dozen meters at a time, directly jumping onto the modular defensive walls formed by the War Fortress system. The giant crustaceans were tearing into the NPC soldiers hidden in the fort in half with a sickle-like weapon on both sides of their bodies.

However, these insects, which were less than a meter tall, in the face of the ten meters tall all-metal shell machinery that was lined up, looked somewhat weak.

At least a thousand of the advanced war machines formed a defensive formation in front of the insect wave, constantly firing their machine guns at the raging tide of insects, directly crushing these bugs to pieces…

Each wave of small energy mini-bombs shot into the insect population produced a pile of energy clusters and mushroom clouds, where each time would cause hundreds of casualties.

Only then, the projection suddenly changed into a bird’s-eye view on the scene where it could be seen that the insect tide was completely densely packed. You could see the start of the tide to the end at a glance, the open spaces created by the missiles fired by the machine beetle to kill those insects were almost instantaneously covered up by the insect tides which were reinforcing.

In addition to these dark red melee mini-bugs, there were even more different kinds of bugs in the tide.

There was an enormous bug which was a few times bigger than the machinery. Although its movement was slow, even the mini-missiles were not able to blow it up, and when its leg was immediately stepped onto the machinery, the bug immediately destroyed it.

Even so, when the projection shifted its view towards the sky, they could see that amongst the insect army on the ground, there were infinite amounts of rising green liquid that caused those high-tech drones that were flying at high speeds in the sky that were either constantly firing mini-bombs one after another or dropping high explosives, to swiftly fall onto the ground upon impact.

“Boom, boom!”

However, above the distant ocean, there were hundreds of strange aircraft carrier-like warships that launched large missiles that were far more powerful than the machinery, causing these giant beasts to be blasted and fall onto the ground as well.

“Swish, swish!”

Other than that, from outer space, there were countless beams of energy destroying rays shot into the ground that caused the bugs that contacted it to burn into ashes.

However, many of these rays were blocked by a layer of energy shield formed by a small bug that had energy flicking from within its body, some even had direct reflections which exploded those flying space fighters in outer space.

The level of technology shown on the projection showed that the technological advances of these NPCs were far stronger than the weapons that the current players hold. However, against these living armies like these insects, they were still unable to gain the upper hand.

The battle scene between the two sides was not on the same level as the current battle between the players, or even the battle between the NPC camps.

“Wow f*ck, this battle looks magnificent, it had the feel of high technological warfare!” Mu Zi and Boss Meng were constantly praising after seeing this scene with their faces filled with excitement.

At the same time, Feng Luo also had some excitement shown from the look in his eyes, because he recognized these enemies shown in the projection were simply the Zergs in Starcraft.

“What you all see now is some creature, it’s an extremely dangerous species that doesn’t belong to our planet. Zergs are a very destructive race from the depths of the universe and they have a scary reproductive capability and adaptive ability in evolution.” As soon as the projection switched, it became that white NPC researcher again.

“In April 1023, a nest carrying genetic information from the Zergs fell deep in the Death Jungle and began to expand rapidly. Fortunately, this nest of worms had been discovered by the Star Eye fortress when it flew through the universe and towards our planet. Before this nest was fully developed, our army had found them in the Death Jungle. It was an extremely difficult battle that lasted three months, and the entire planet lost more than a third of its troops. In the end, we paid the price of destroying the largest jungle, the Death Jungle, on the planet in order to win and capture their commander.” The projection switched again, and a special “insect” appeared in a huge transparent box-shaped object.

“Wow f*ck, what’s this leader?” When the male players saw this, they got stunned momentarily.

“It looks a little disgusting!” The female players in the team revealed an expression filled with disgust, even Thorned Rose who did not have much change upon seeing those corpses, also could not help but express this thought.

The creature on the projection had a somewhat ugly appearance. It looked like an enlarged version of the human brain that appeared to be moving and full of mucus and blood vessels, its color was brownish-red with some black tentacles. In front of the brain, there was a long meat-colored mouthpiece.

This was indeed a little disgusting.

“Is this the Brain Worm?” Feng Luo is looking at the creature, which was what NPC called the “worm leader.”

In Feng Luo’s memory, the Brain Worm in the movies and games from Earth movies should have two concepts.

One was the Brain Worm in the “StarCraft” game, which was the medium that the Zergs commanded, it simply can be regarded as a commander that was able to control all of the Zerg combat units.

The second was the Brain Worm in “Galaxy Team,” which had a similar use to the Brain Worm in Starcraft, but it had a high IQ and liked to on suck the brains of intelligent creatures, including humans.

This thing looked more like the second type, but from the background given by the NPC, it should have the function and the abilities of the first type.
