Chapter 144: Throwing Knife! Awakening! Mute Spell!

One day in Four Season Valley when Qian Jin went underwater to strengthen his body, Gabriella used up all her spiritual power and was going to use a Magic Core to replenish her energy. The elder passed her a throwing knife that he asked from Qian Jin, “What does a mage do after all of his or her spiritual or magic power is depleted? It doesn’t hurt to learn new things. You don’t have to master this, but you should know the basics so you can have more self-protective abilities, right?” He said to her.

Because of the elder’s words, Gabriella secretly took an hour out of her day to practice the basic techniques on [Divine Shot] using the throwing knife. However, since her physical strength was lacking, he couldn’t be sure that her throwing knife wouldn’t be dodged or could pierce through her opponent’s throat in such a short distance. After all, Gleen Pan wasn’t standing too far away.

“Closer, I need to be a bit closer!” Under the audience’s curious stare, she slowly got closer and closer to Gleen Pan.

“What do you want to do? Fight with me physically? I’m a great mage!” Gleen Pan waved his hand and threw out another Violent Wind Blow Magic Spell. The violent wind didn’t deal much damage, but it knocked Gabriella to the ground and made her dusty and dirty; he did it just to get back at her for embarrassing him.

Rosella looked at Gabriella who got up and walked toward Gleen Pan again and said, “It’s okay Gabriella. Just surrender, there is no shame in that.” She couldn’t bear watching Gabriella suffer.

The big mage hat shook repeatedly, and Gabriella moved towards Gleen Pan in silence. “I have never fully completed something since I was little; I survived under my big sister’s protection until she died because of me, and my family members hated me because of my sister’s death. No matter what happens, I will finish this duel!” She thought in her head.

“Gabriella…” Qian Jin sighed as he walked towards the center of the duel. He no longer cared about all the potential consequences; he couldn’t stand there and watch this girl sacrifice herself for him…

“No!” Gabriella’s usual timid voice sounded extra crisp and stubborn. Qian Jin vaguely felt like Gabriella was about to cry. “I have never fully completed something or persisted something to the end. I am only a burden to the people around me. I said that I could become a Supreme Mage, but I don’t even believe in it. I appreciate your trust and belief in me, but I won’t give up. I won’t give up!” Gabriella shouted.

Most of the people in the yard looked at Gabriella, stunned. “This girl who looked soft and timid had persistence and brave moments. When facing death, she was even more courageous than a lot of men. That alone is worth admiring!” They thought.

Gomez Jane’s eyes shone as she looked at Gabriella. She quietly picked up [Dual Moon] on the table and walked nearby where Qian Jin was standing. She stared at the mage duel carefully, and everyone could tell that she was ready to move if anything went wrong!

“So you want to die?” Gleen Pan was one of the few people who wasn’t moved by this girl. Another Fireball Magic Scroll appeared in his hand as he laughed viciously, “It would be overestimating a mage student like you if I use any other magic spells.”

“Qian Jin, I want to finish this duel!” Gabriella’s hand that was holding onto the throwing knife relaxed as she stared at Gleen Pan’s throat tightly. With her voice filled with a crying tone, she said, “This is the first duel of my life… I don’t want anyone to interfere with it.”

“Burning Fireball!” Gleen Pan squeezed the magic scroll in his hand, and the magic scroll lit up instantly. The fireballs flew towards Gabriella while leaving a long fiery tail in the air. A spark of light flashed through Gabriella’s eyes that were hiding under her mage hat. She had been waiting for this moment for too long! After a mage cast a spell, he or she would have a very short moment of spiritual relaxation; that would be the best time to strike!

The throwing knife quickly appeared under Gabriella’s long sleeve; it was so fast that the audience only saw a flash of it. Without the audience knowing what she did, the throwing knife shot out of her hands and rotated in the air as it flew towards its target.

Bam! Puff!

Almost at the same time, the burning fireballs exploded in front of Gabriella’s chest and a strand of blood spurted out of Gleen Pan’s body.

At the next moment, Gabriella fell directly to the ground, leaving a long trace on the ground. She looked at her opponent who was stabbed by her throwing knife spiritlessly. “The aim was a bit off.” She sighed in her head. At that moment, her body wasn’t able to function normally; her eyes closed, and she fainted.

Gleen Pan on the other hand backed off two steps and stared at the throwing knife that stabbed into his left shoulder as a layer of cold sweat covered his body. If he didn’t feel like something was off and didn’t suddenly move aside, this throwing knife would have either stab into his throat or into his chest… He didn’t expect this little girl to pull off this kind of attack!

A mage who had the chance to advance to a Supreme Mage after two years was almost killed by a mage student who only had Level 5 Spiritual Power twice!

He was embarrassed twice continuously within one little duel! Gleen Pan grabbed onto his magic wand and was uncontrollably angry. When he saw that Gabriella, who was lying on the ground, was still breathing, he took out an Angry Fire Strike Magic Scroll, a Level 4 Magic Scroll. Although this scroll was precious, he overcame this mental barrier under impulse and shouted, “That was a Demon Flamingo’s feather? No wonder you could survive after getting hit by a burning fireball! But today, you must die!”

A stream of fire roared as it dashed towards Gabriella. Gleen Pan bit his teeth and injected his spiritual power continuously into the scroll as he thought, “This little mage student will die no matter what happens.”

Gomez Jane’s body moved, but she instantly felt a force pulling her back. She turned her head and looked back angrily at Qian Jin who was not only not moving, but also pulling on her wrist.

“Wait…” Qian Jin didn’t explain himself. No emotion appeared on his face as he watched that stream of angry fire smashed onto Gabriella’s body.

Boom! An explosion that was more powerful than any explosion that the audience saw today appeared and numerous flames flew in all directions. Rosella closed her eyes out of desperation, and tears rushed out of her eyes uncontrollably. Although she only spent a night with Gabriella, she felt a great amount of pain as if one of her close family was gone; she even felt some resentment towards Qian Jin for not acting and saving her.

“Extinguish all the burning fires!”

In the bursting and burning flames, a cold and haughty voice sounded!

At that moment, the temperature in the yard dropped dramatically following the appearance of the haughty voice. As if they were command by their king, the fires that were burning quickly disappeared.

At the location where the fires were at, Gabriella was standing there with her clothes stained by blood and dust. A breathtaking magic pressure came off her little body, and limitless magic power twisted and swirled around her. In this huge amount of magic power, her long and smooth black hair fluttered and went upwards into the air, as if there was no gravity around her!

Gabriella… No! It was Gloria! The big sister Gloria who was resting in Gabriella’s body had woken up! The super talented mage… No! The super talented Supreme Mage who condensed all her spiritual power into magic power with just the help of two Magic Cores!

The surging magic power blew all the dust around her into the air and away from her. The dust that was blown away gradually lost momentum and fell back to the ground further away from Gloria. As if the emperor was coming out of her castle to check on the royal progress, Gloria started to move slowly. As if they were a bunch of noisy and loyal subjects who just saw the Emperor, all of the audience around Gloria backed off several steps.

The flashy “entrance” made everyone’s face change color. There were a lot of interesting expressions: shock, stun and praise. Rosella was already tearing up as she felt overjoyed, and Qian Jin was the only one whose expression didn’t change. With a calm smile on his face, he looked at Gleen Pan who was shocked and in panic.

“How is this possible?” Everyone in the audience couldn’t believe what they were seeing, no matter who’s side they were on. “How could this girl faint and wake up with such a great magic power?” They thought.

When Gleen Pan saw the magic power blossom around Gloria, he was so shocked that he momentarily forgot about the wound on his shoulder and the pain he was feeling. His whole body started to shake uncontrollably; it was an instinctive fear when a mage saw a Supreme Mage angry.

Mage! Supreme Mage! There was a huge gap between the two. The spiritual power and magic power were two completely different matters. They were different from their essence.

Quite a lot of concern appeared in Cage’s eyes that were filled with suspicion. “Supreme Mage! These people usually trained and meditated in Magic Towers that belonged to the Mage Union. A high and mighty Supreme Mage actually appeared in this little duel! Also, her age… her age is less than twenty years old? This…” He thought.

“This is not possible! This can’t be real! Absolutely not possible!” Gleen Pan’s legs started to move back without him consciously thinking. He shook his head continuously like a rattle-drum; he just couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

It wasn’t like there weren’t any Supreme Mages in the Mage Union in Yulee State. Actually, Gleen Pan’s master was a Supreme Mage. Also, it wasn’t that terrifying to face a Supreme Mage in a duel. But what Gleen Pan couldn’t accept was the age of this Supreme Mage.

“The most talented Grade Two mage student from Oakland’s Warrior and Mage Academy two years ago was only a Grade One mage student in an advanced academy. How could this girl be a Supreme Mage? It is true that there are geniuses in the world, but advancing to a Supreme Mage despite being less than twenty years old? Even geniuses would feel like idiots in front of this result and this progression.”

Fabreidis looked at Qian Jin in both surprise and praise. “This kid doesn’t only have the strength of a Level 9 Demon Fighter, but his mage companion is also a Supreme Mage who is less than twenty years old? It looks like two monsters joined forces together! If other genius mages that were praised highly of by all the Mage Unions in all the states see her, would they be so embarrassed by their so-called genius title that they would smash their heads against rocks?”

Caeller on the other hand collapsed to the ground and landed on his butt. He didn’t feel the pain of his butt smashing onto stones and rocks as his mentality instantly collapsed as well. Who could have thought that Gabriella, who was so bad that she was on the verge of being kicked out by the Academy, would come back in two years as a Supreme Mage?

Cage squatted down beside Caeller and whispered into his ear, “So this Gabriella doesn’t have any background, right? If she doesn’t have any, can we try to recruit her? Compared with what the Roll Family can pay and provide for her, there is no reason why our Cae Family can’t come up with a better bargain, right?”

Caeller looked up at his nephew in amaze and thought, “He really deserves to be a bloodline warrior! He is able to keep his head clear in this kind of situation and find good opportunities in danger.”

“That’s right!” Caeller was suddenly instilled with confidence. “Gabriella was always poor and bullied a lot in the academy. A student without any background like her would definitely fall towards benefits and gains when faced with abundant money and resources! If Gleen Pan surrenders now, then I can get a Supreme Mage to join Cae Family without losing Gleen Pan as a mage! If the leader of the family knows about this, then he would definitely extend my authority and give me more rewards! After all, there is currently only one Supreme Mage acting as the Guardian of the Cae Family.” He thought.

“I… I sur…” Gleen Pan was so nervous that sweat drops that were as big as beans slid down his face and body. He knew that he could be killed if the battle continued like this, so he quickly opened his mouth and said, “I sur…”

At this moment, Gloria raised her wounded hand; the blood had dried on her hand. “Seal!” She said lightly towards Gleen Pan.

“I sur…”

The audience saw Gleen Pan open his mouth in panic, but no sound came out of it!
