Chapter 206: Revenge

Fabreidis’s face turned sullen all of a sudden, “It’s much more difficult to fight with a bloodline warrior than you could imagine.”

Qian Jin nodded his head. Fabreidis turned to Duren Burg and said, “A Hydra Bloodline Warrior? You have reached the awakening not long ago, haven’t you? Or else, how is your warrior power so small? What are you following Qian Jin? To turn him into your retinue?”

“Are you kidding me? Turn Qian Jin into my retinue?” Duren Burg kept shaking his head, “I haven’t ever thought about finding anyone as my retinue. But you are right because what I reached was natural awakening, one year later than the ceremonial awakening…”

“That’s it. The Hydra Bloodline is also one of the top ten bloodlines in the Zence Empire…” Fabreidis turned to Cech Flet and kept looking him up and down.

“These three people are all my friends.” Qian Jin felt a little timid, so he stepped forward, “Duren Burg, Cech Flet, and Fanta Kunge.”

“Duren? This is not the family name of Hydra Bloodline Warrior.” Fabreidis turned to Duren Burg again, “You’re not from the Hydra Bloodline Family?”

“My mother comes from the Hydra Bloodline Family.” Duren Burg slightly bent down, “As for me, I was born to the Duren Family.”

“I see.” Fabreidis smiled faintly, as seldom would the bloodline family marry their female offspring out. When their females got married, the husbands would enter their family. Only those girls without any hope of delivering a baby with bloodline awakening abilities would be married out.

In other cases, the females would be married out when they lost the ability to have babies. People like Duren Burg only took up a small proportion of the Hydra Bloodline Family.

“Fanta Kunge? You come from the Fanta Family?” Seeing Fanta Kunge nod his head, Fabreidis turned to Qian Jin again, thinking that this young guy had really made some interesting friends.

Being a bloodline awakening warrior born to a non-bloodline warrior family, Duren Burg boasted sheer confidence. In fact, coming back to the bloodline warrior family was not a hard thing. When Qian Jin asserted that he was a friend instead of a retinue, he felt not mad at all but desperately happy.

The warrior from the Fanta Family was also a proud man. When he announced a friend of Qian Jin, he didn’t reject but wore a high contented look on his face.

Under the gaze of Fabreidis, Qian Jin felt tickling all over his body and started recalling the fight they had just now, “My uncle, just now when you were fighting with the Dark Group, the warrior power was changed drastically. It was not an explosive growth of warrior power volume, but a strange change, which increased the battling force by multiple times! And you seemed to call it soul power?”

Fabreidis looked at Qian Jin in puzzlement, “When did you arrive here? I didn’t even notice your presence before you attacked. Your showing up was really shocking though there was an adversary on the battlefield.”

“I came here when you drew a distance between each other in the fight.” Qian Jin looked at Fabreidis silently, “What is soul power?”

“The soul power…” Fabreidis looked up to the sky, “I intended to tell you after you become Demon Extinguisher. But in fact, time is not an important matter. I’m just afraid that after my telling you what soul power is, you will concentrate on it and delay the improvement of your overall strength.”

“Did you feel it just now?” Fabreidis opened his palm, on which white warrior power was dancing in the center, and then turned red, “What’s the difference?”

Qian Jin came closer to Fabreidis and observed the warrior power in his palm carefully, “It seems that it has been brought to life…as if it has turned into a living thing from an inanimate object.”

“Good, you have a right feeling.” Fabreidis folded his fingers into a fist, and retreated the warrior power into his body, “You just need to know that soul power is a living thing. It is really living there! As a living thing, the warrior power has its own soul! As for what the soul power is…”

“Honorable Fabreidis…” A soldier of the Torrent Ten Warriors suddenly asked, “The Frontier is a hazardous place. If you want to have a chat with Qian Jin, we’d better go back to Oakland or Yulee, or just step into the territory of the Zence Empire. Please remember that your head is wanted at a high price in Lucifer Empire.”

“That’s true! This time they had dispatched a Five Star because they weren’t sure whether you had really gone out or there was some trap set for them.” Another member of the Torrent Ten Warriors continued to say, “But after they get to know the truth, everything will become troublesome and dangerous.”

Gazing at the worried faces of the members of Torrent Ten Warriors, Qian Jin nodded his head lightly. Fabreidis was given the nickname of Bloody Blade in the frontier, meaning that the rewards for catching him would be much higher.

“Uncle, let’s go to Oakland.”

Seeing Duren Burg tuck away the identification authentication of the Five Star, Fabreidis nodded his head, “Let’s go! Let’s head back to Oakland first.”

Qian Jin took the authentication handed by Duren Burg, tucked it away and walked down the mountain, carrying his bow and arrow on his shoulder. The members of Torrent Ten Warriors exchanged a look among each other in great surprise, feeling it unbelievable that such a young Level 9 Demon Fighter had mastered such a great shooting technique. It was no wonder that the Honorable Fabreidis decided to march into the frontier alone regardless of the immense threats of death and insisted on staying here waiting for Qian Jin to show up.

Looking at Qian Jin’s back, Fabreidis uttered a faint smile, as such a prodigy was rarely seen in the ordinary warriors. Besides, Qian Jin seemed to be a Level 10 Blacksmith whose archery was of top class, all of which promised him a bright future in the Torrent Battle Fort! His ability of a Level 10 Blacksmith could relieve much of the burdens of the Blacksmith Union. But pitifully, these friends of Qian Jin didn’t possess pharmaceutical fortes or something else…

Stop thinking about it! Fabreidis shook his head softly, recognizing that he was too greedy to ask that much. As long as Qian Jin could help the Torrent Battle Fort shake off the pressures from the Blacksmith Union, it would possibly rejuvenate as one of the eight powers of Yulee State, or at least the harsh situation of the Torrent Battle Fort would be softened though it would still be under the pressure of the Mage Union and some other unions.

The Reventment Fortress was a small-large fortress in the human-demon battlefield in Zence Empire.

Given the past days’ tension in the frontier, all garrisoned fortresses had put on desperately high alert, paying attention to every little move in the frontier, for fear that some bandit groups might release a sneak attack on the frontier all of a sudden.

Such things were seen in the history of the Zence Empire, the Lucifer Empire, and the Barbarians.

Generally, the gate of the frontier would be closed at dusk. However, it was still open wide at this time today, with the at-post soldiers garrisoned in the Reventment Fortress wearing a high vigilance and paying close attention to everything that was happening outside the frontier.

Seeing the dashing horses coming above the horizon, General Wind straightened his armor with his coarse hands and put on a look mingled with nervousness and excitement. Feeling unease with his hands, he poked them again to flatten his helmet.

Three Chiliarchies gazed at General Wind from the corner of their eyes in curiosity. Their general possessed a notoriously bad temper, who behaved just the same as at drill upon the arrival of high-ranking commanders of the army. But today, he was as nervous as a girl who was about to be seated in the wedding sedan. These Chiliarchies couldn’t help wondering what kind of big snot was coming.

As the horses approached nearer and nearer, these Chiliarchies changed their face sullen. The people riding in the front looked mundane, but the ten soldiers behind them carried a totally different feeling.

Ten soldiers were arranged in a straight line, wearing a composed look and a compelling stance as if they had just waded through blood and fire. Even if they were dashing on the horseback, they carried the momentum of fighting dauntlessly against hundreds of thousands of Demon soldiers.

Even if there were just ten people among them, they carried the soaring power of more than a hundred. And in front of these soldiers, there was a man riding by himself who was in blood-worn dressing and carried a sword pending from his waist and heaving with the horse, all of which made him a king on his victorious return.

What kind of group was this? As the several Chiliarchies were exchanging a puzzled look, those horses had reached the gate and stopped. Fabreidis pulled the reins and the horse lifted its forehoof and made a roaring growl.

“Wind Solque, the general of the Reventment Fortress, shows his deepest respect for you, Honorable Fabreidis.”

General Wind made a hard hit on his left chest, trod by a half step, and bowed at a 90-degree angle. His voice was so loud that his warrior power was stirred to be started up.

Qian Jin looked at Fabreidis from the corner of his eyes, feeling great admiration for this illustrious warrior, who even won the highest respect of a general who was in possession of great power on the frontier.

Bending down, General Wind couldn’t stop the trembling of his voice, “Honorable Fabreidis, I’ve prepared a room for you to take a rest…”

“No hurry. Let’s first go to your tent.” Fabreidis held his Skyreed Sword, “We have something to talk about.”

Who was Fabreidis? Why did our general respect him so? The several Chiliarchies exchanged a puzzled look and gazed at Fabreidis and the other warriors step into General Wind’s tent.

“Qian Jin.” Fabreidis was seated in the privileged chair for the guests, “Take that object out.”

An object? Wind Solque stared at Qian Jin walk in. What was that? What kind of things couldn’t be taken out and exposed outside?

“General.” Qian Jin took out the authentication of the Five Star from his leather bag hung around the waist, and placed it on General Wind’s table, “Here you are.”

Five Star of the Dark Group? General Wind hardly sat on the chair when he heard the news and was shocked and jumped up high as if he was pricked by pincers or scissors on the buttocks. He looked at the exclusive authentication of the Five Star on the table blankly, knowing that it was a special verification that couldn’t be counterfeited by anyone.

Five Star of the Dark Group! As the most cryptic, ruthless and ferocious killers’ group in the Demon Royal Family, the Dark Group was a trump card on any battlefield. However, a Five Star, ranking highest among all the Demon Warriors, was killed in such an abrupt way.

General Wind gazed at the authentication of the Five Star on the table with a blank look. In the past, a Two Star almost killed the three young warriors’ lives, but today, with the help of Fabreidis, they successfully got the identification symbol of a Five Star.

Wind Solque slowly raised his head and looked at Fabreidis with a dull face. But still, he couldn’t hold down his surging excitement and shock. He deserved to be called the All-mighty Fabreidis! He succeeded in killing a Five Star Demon Warrior!

“Stop looking at me.” Fabreidis lifted his fingers and pointed to Qian Jin next to him, “He was of a lot of help, or else I would have spent more finishing off this Five Star.”

“He…”Wind Solque looked at Qian Jin in a stupor. As the saying went that there were significant differences in power among the Stars of different levels, a Five Star was much stronger than a Two Star. Qian Jin nearly died during his fight with a Two Star last time, how on earth had he participated in killing the Five Star this time?

Wind Solque twinkled his eyes up and down hard. Even for a bloodline warrior of the same age as Qian Jin was impossible to do so, how on earth did he manage that!

“Please credit the merit with Qian Jin.” Fabreidis gently nodded his head, “General Wind, just mind your business. Qian Jin, come with me…”

“Mr. Fabreidis.” Wind Solque lifted his hand and unfolded his fingers, “You also have shared in this merit…”

Fabreidis tilted his head to Wind Solque and asked faintly, “Do you think I care about the merits?”

Wind Solque put his hand at the back of his head, started scratching his scalp, and wore an embarrassed look, “It’s my fault. How could someone like you be bothered by the military merits? I will just arrange people to find a place for you to rest.”

Qian Jin followed Fabreidis in walking out of the tent and asked in a low voice, “We won’t carry on with our trip immediately?”

“Stay here for a night.” Fabreidis patted on Qian Jin’s back, “We haven’t been resting well for the past few days. So let’s take a break here.”

“That’s well.” Qian Jin nodded his head, walked out of the tent and said, “I have something to do, and I will reach you sometime later.”

Fabreidis waved his hand and followed the soldier arranged by Wind Solque to his room.

Rayen! Qian Jin clenched his fists and walked through the military camp in a rush. Though he guessed Rayen had already left, he felt it necessary to check since he had already come back to see whether Rayen had left here. If not…

Who were they? Qian Jin flashed a light out of his eyes as he saw the Sung twin sisters propping Sung Xeon to take a walk. He sprinted to them and said, “Uncle Sung, you are taking a walk here?”

Sung Xeon nodded his head lightly and lamented, “Yes. Though I’ve gotten hurt, I need to relax my limbs once in a while.”

Qian Jin swung his head, looked to the surroundings and asked in a casual way, “Where is Rayen?”

Sung Xeon looked at Qian Jin in great surprise, because he didn’t figure that this young warrior was still watchful for Rayen upon his return. Sung Kelly said in a low voice, “The other day we came to the camp, he didn’t linger for long before he left.”

“Oh really?” Qian Jin forced a smile and flashed a look of indiscernible vigilance. Rayen turned out to be a resolute man instead of a fool as he immediately left after making the arrangements.

“Uncle Sung, please go on with your walk, I have something to do.”

“Qian Jin…” Sung Xeon wanted to say something but stopped, and looked at Qian Jin’s back, “ah…just let it go…the Ray Family shouldn’t be trifled with…”

Qian Jin turned back and laughed, “What’s wrong? Is there murderous intent graved on my face?”

Sung Xeon shook his head in silence. There was no murderous intent on this young person’s face, in the words he said or around his eyes. Give his innumerable contacts with different types of people during the past decades, Sung Xeon felt by instinct that something must have gone wrong, or else Qian Jin and Rayen, two young guys who used to be in a bad relationship wouldn’t have become so caring for or interested in each other.

“Thank you, my uncle. I know what I am doing.” Qian Jin crossed his arms behind his head as if propping on the pillow and looked up at the sky. It was by sheer luck he discovered Rayen’s underdog who was tailing after him that several days ago, or else he would have been chopped down by the Big Sword Bandit Group in the frontier. But he might not be that lucky next time. So he’d decided to take the lead in attacking his adversary and kill down the venomous serpent threatening his life in the cradle.

Gazing at Qian Jin’s back in tranquility, Sung Xeon shook his head lightly. He had seen piles of people on his vagabond trip these years but never had he seen such a young person who was always composed and casual. Such a posture of calmness and tranquility was not a masquerade, but a temperament rooted in him.

When Qian Jin came back to Fabreidis’s room, it was already time for supper and the Torrent Ten Warriors, Fanta Kunge, and the other people were having a relaxing meal around a big table.

Fabreidis put down his chopsticks, stood up and cast a glance at the people present, “Qian Jin, you have been curious about soul power, haven’t you? So everybody, please follow me.”

Soul power? Qian Jin hurriedly puts down his chopsticks. The compelling force displayed by the Five Star of the Dark Group and Fabreidis when they were fighting on Clear Spring Mountain still flashed in his mind.

“Soul power? I am also interested in that.” Duren Burg seized the Duren pistol beside him and squinted at Fabreidis, “Seems to be powerful.”

Fanta Kunge shook his head at the sight of Duren Burg. Every bloodline awakening warrior would be instructed by the strong ones in his family and would know about soul power. Only bloodline awakened warriors born not to a bloodline family like Duren Burg had no knowledge of soul power.

As for Qian Jin? Fanta Kunge walked at the tail of the group and shook his head at Qian Jin’s back. It was so strange for an ordinary with such compelling might to have no knowledge of soul power. Wasn’t he an offspring of the ordinary warrior family?

Passing by the drilling field, Fabredis walked out of the military camp of Reventment Fortress and stood in the suburb territory of the Zence Empire. The hanging moon was radiating the earth with tranquility amidst the intermittent buzzing of the insects around the bushes.

“So what is soul power? I have intended to tell you after you make a breakthrough over your present state of Level 9 Demon Fighter and become a stronger Demon Capturer warrior.” Fabreidis turned back to Qian Jin, who was stopped by the Torrent Ten Warriors for a twenty-meter distance, “Now watch carefully as I demonstrate to you what soul power means!”

Fabreidis slightly raised his head, and opened his arms fiercely, after which discernible warrior power was spouting out of his body. The grass around his ankles withered instantly under the burning warrior power, making Fabreidis look like a rising sun in the moonlight.

The red warrior power started wriggling and entwining. Qian Jin narrowed his brows, as he realized that the warrior power he felt the other day was by all means overwhelming! Yet it was inanimate.

However, the warrior power he was sensing at present filled people with vigor and vitality! It created an ambiance of summer had arrived upon the expiration of winter, enlightening all the living things with liveliness.

The warrior power surrounding Fabreidis started to accelerate rapidly until it was two inches above the ground and little by little…slowly…it formed a huge and feint warrior power shadow with a wolf’s head and a human’s body.

Qian Jin opened his eyes as wide as he could, while his fingers were closely clenched and his heart was growling: it was the very right feeling! Definitely! The warrior power Fabreidis beckoned in the Clear Spring Mountain was full of vigor! However, it was not accompanied by this weird faint shadow with immense wildness and might, which was two inches high and taking on the shape of wolf’s head and human’s body!
