Chapter 282: Turn the Impossible into Possible

Hard to be killed, they were a crowd of monsters that were hard to kill. In choosing between fighting Sand Scorpion or Sand Worm, any normal person would choose the first one.

“Haven’t they left yet?” Qian Jin raised his head at a black dot at the far end of the sky. Practicing Divine Shot wasn’t merely about improving the precision of shooting, but the honing of one’s eyesight.

“Lucifer Lucy?” Qian Jin took a cold breath. Damn the wings! Damn the Blood Bat Bloodline Warrior! These Sand Worm must have been gathered by them and attracted here in an attempt to attack Qian Jin and his fellows.

“Princess, they seem to have found us.”

“So what? “Lucifer Lucy tamped on Rafal’s back and look at the Qian Jin in the distance with a lofty look. “Does he even dare to fight against me? Cech Flet was hit by me and must be lying in the cave waiting for his wounds to heal right now. Does Qian Jin dare to leave him alone? If he does, Cech Flet will certainly die. Don’t forget that what we prepared for them are Sand Worms, which possess special abilities.”

“Damn the special abilities. Why are these Sand Worm choosing to attack us here?” Qian Jin slightly frowned. Sand Worms were different from ordinary earthworms in that the latter could only slide in the mud and soil while former could move in the stones as freely as those ordinary earthworms.

This big mountain couldn’t serve as a defense fortress for them. Even if they carried Cech Flet on their back and fled away, they would be caught by these demon beasts that moved fast in the sand.

“Where there are Sand Worm, there must be a Sand Worm King.” Duren Burg said carefully. “Qian Jin, you can directly put an end on this by killing it.”

“Ok, you shall stay here and watch out.” Qian Jin turned away and run down the hill at full speed, “Kunge, carry Cech Flet and get ready for an escape.” He shouted.

Reaching the foot of the hill, Qian Jin started running in the desert for several hundred meters. Then he stopped, turned his feet back and forth to dig a hole under the ground, and swiftly buried himself. Hiding in the hole, he only exposed one of his eyes to closely gaze at the approaching Sand Worm.

These coming Sand Worm totaling roughly one hundred which were of different sizes, among which the smaller ones had a length of a normal-sized man, and the bigger ones enjoyed a length of four meters. Between the Sand Worms crouched a giant sand dragon-like Demon Beast which was twice as big as the previous Sand Scorpion King.

So this worm was ten meters long? Qian Jin finally got the chance to closely examine the approaching Sand Worm King. The golden skin was like a human callus and formed a thick protective film over it.

On its bodies, there were fifteen or sixteen ugly mouths with sharp teeth and bulged nearly thirty bumps of the size of human heads that worked as its eyes. Yet their eyes were not used to see, but for smelling and hearing.

“What is he trying to do? To have a sneak attack?” Standing on on Rafal’s back, Lucifer Lucy soared high in the sky and kept sneering at the sight of Qian Jin groveling beneath the earth. “Want to sneak attack? That might work for others, but pitifully, your enemies are Sand Worms whose vital parts keep changing. Can you find out these vital parts? Any sneak attack on the Sand Worm will just end up increasing its anger and atrociousness.”

Rafal cast a furtive look back at Lucifer Lucy and nodded silently. It was no wonder that this princess decided to attract the Sand Worms instead of the stronger demon beasts; these demon beasts were seemingly flawless.

“It’s such a pity that I couldn’t land and attract more Sand Worm to him, or else it will be a better trap.”

Lucifer Lucy looked at Qian Jin vigilantly as his adept shooting skill had been ingrained in her mind. She was afraid that she might be struck down by him again if she imprudently landed on the ground.

“Right.” Rafal nodded again, “Sand Worms are a crowd of flawless…”

Whoosh.

A harsh light suddenly flashed out of the arrow that was on the Shoot Moon Bow as the wind roared in in the Ancient Desert Sea. The arrow glided over the sandy land swiftly and produced a piercing sound which even overshadowed the blowing wind.

A golden trace appeared on the sand which was then absorbed into the airflow produced around the fast rotating arrow. More golden sand swirled behind the arrow like a meteor falling from the sky, the only difference being that today’s “meteor” rose up from the ground instead of falling down from the sky.

One shot. Two shots. Three shots…five shots…nine shots.

With the increase of his power, the might of [Chain Arrows] was also growing. Just within a blink of the eye, the nine arrows in the quiver had been released by Qian Jin.

Such swiftness! Lucifer Lucy’s pupils dilated and looked at the nine arrows flashing by in front of her, knowing that she would have been shot to death if she was flying a little lower.

“How could this person be so powerful? “Lucifer Lucy’s heart was beating fiercely out of sheer panic. She bet the only rival of him might be the Demon-Eye Bloodline Archers. “Is he a Divine-Shot Bloodline Warrior of the Yuri Family in the Zence Empire? If he aimed at me the other day, I would have been shot to death.” She thought.

“Why didn’t he shoot at me? Or, right.” Lucifer Lucy swallowed some drools as it dawned on her that his hands were injured. “Why had he recovered within such a short time? Even with the Demons’ high-quality potion, I’m 70% to 80% healed.”

A string of thoughts flashed in Lucifer Lucy’s mind, during which time the nine forceful arrows released by Qian Jin had reached the Sand Worm King.

With a screeching howl coming from some unknown part of the Sand Worm, it hurriedly subsided its giant body down into the sand.

The arrows had come too unexpectedly. Generally, the demon beasts were most susceptible to the changes in the surroundings, but this time, this Sand Worm didn’t sense the danger until Qian Jin unleashed the attack.

Puff! As the Sand Worm King was shot, all other Sand Worms screamed and charged towards Qian Jin.

Puff! Puff! Puff! Puff! Puff! Eight successive arrows all hit the target.

The arrows hit the Sand Worm King and pricked deep into its body like a drill.

Blue blood had sprung from nine different parts of the Sand Worm King, making Qian Jin feel desperately heartbroken as such liquid was one of the major materials for making Frantic Potion. How could it be spouted out like this? What a waste it was!

Creak, creak, creak, creak…

The Sand Worm King rolled in the sand with great pains while the nine arrows penetrated and left by the other side of its body. One of the nine arrow carried an earthy-yellow stone of fist size on the head.

Magic core! The only vital point of the Sand Worm King lied in its magic core which was different from those of the other demon beast. The Sand Worm King’s magic core kept changing its location with time, which, when facing an attack, could be controlled by the Sand Worm King and be moved to avoid being hit on the vital parts.

The almost impregnable special ability made the Sand Worm one of the toughest rivals among all mid-level demon beasts. If their defensive magic was activated, things would be more troublesome.

However, Qian Jin performed the shooting too swiftly today to leave no time for the Sand Worm King to conjure its magic power. It was only able to transfer its magic core.

“How come?” Lucifer Lucy looked with her remaining poor eye, and shrieked, “How could he be able to hit the Sand Worm King on its magic core with nine arrows? How did he find that?”

“Impossible…impossible…impossible…”

Rafal kept shaking his head. The only rival of Sand Worm King was the Blood Bat Bloodline Demon Warrior, who was capable of finding the potential location of the magic core via the vibration and passing back of sound waves, and yet such process didn’t always prove a one-hundred-percent accuracy.

Sand Worm King also had its natural protective measure, which was bewildering the enemies by simulating several fake magic cores using a magic.

However, such a scheme didn’t work today as Qian Jin had hit the magic core with nine shots, of which the precision was unimaginable even for Rafal.

Sand Worm King whimpered and flopped down on the ground. Blue blood streamed out of its body like a cracked water pipe. In just a blink, Sand Worm King’s body which stretched ten meters before shrunk to only eight meters.

“What a bad luck.”

Qian Jin tucked away his bow, turned back, and starting running fast while casting a look at the shrinking Sand Worm King every now and then reluctantly. He had run into this species multiple times on the West Mountains and had thus established a quasi-feud with it. Each time he killed it, it would instantly and became as small as a fingernail within a short time.

“How come?” Lucifer Lucy looked at the fleeing Qian Jin who held a bow in the hand. “It must be sheer luck. If he has discovered the weak points of Sand Worm King, he should know where its magic core is for all other Sand Worms. How could he let go of the Sand Worms?”

Lucifer Lucy’s words flew down with the roaring wind. Qian Jin was running on an oval-shaped route, trying to reach the Sand Worm King’s corpse. Once in a while, he would look up at the Demon Princess while thinking to himself that she was knowledgeable, yet lacked in practical experience.

The constant changing of the Sand Worm King’s magic core made it hard to be found, however, so long as such change took place with time, there would be some certain pattern to follow. Besides, given the numerous fights Qian Jin had against this species, it was natural for him to know in which direction it would move when its magic core while suffering from pain.

But the Sand Worm were different; for them, their magic cores couldn’t be moved but were grown in different places, making it more difficult to find out their weak points.

The magic core could be grown in their mouths, or in the bumps, or even on the tails.

“No way. The magic core couldn’t be gained by him.” Lucifer Lucy stood on Rafal and said, “Land. Take away the magic core before he finds it.”

“Yes, my princess.”

All of a sudden, Rafal started falling down at a high speed while Lucifer Lucy’s left eye was flashing out a Six-star Array. Then, a ball of black flame dropped from the sky and dashed toward Qian Jin.

Demon Eye of Destruction. Qian Jin exerted some power from his waist, trying to move to the other side of the path. The flame jetted from the eyes was destructive enough to destroy a Level 9 Warrior Weapon, and even the Steel Body of the Wind and Cloud Golden Body couldn’t be its rival.

Terrifying demon eye. Qian Jin looked at the sand that changed from golden into white ashes after being hit by the flame from the Demon Eye of Destruction. As a gust of wind blew over it, these white ashes turned into even smaller granules.
