Chapter 309

Chapter 309: Cheating

The magic arrays’ connections on the walls of the altar constituted immense information to be studied. Qian Jin circled around it slowly, trying to encrypt the hidden laws. Then he looked up to Pam Honzi for permission.

“You can walk on to it for a closer look.” Pam Honzi generously lifted his hands as a permission for Qian Jin’s request.

Qian Jin smiled with gratitude and walked onto the altar. Overlooking the altar made him feel like throwing up. The panel of the altar was also carved by dazzling magic arrays.

A hydra crouched in the center of the altar, each of the head was connected with a magic array. Different magic crystals and magic cores were inlaid in the eyes of all nine heads, and each single magic array was further jointed into two or more magic arrays.

The eyes of the biggest snakehead were equipped with two crystalized magic cores of Supreme-Level Demon Beasts instead of ordinary magic cores.

At the sight of the crystalized magic cores of Supreme-Level Demon Beasts, Qian Jin nearly jumped in shock. This second altar was much more difficult to saw through than he imagined. Supreme-Level Demon Beasts were the most powerful demon beasts in existence whose power could be compared to that of the bloodline warriors who had reached the heavenly awakening.

Even Pam Honzi wouldn’t recklessly attack Supreme-Level Demon Beasts for fear of unnecessary injuries.

Seeing the surprised look of Qian Jin, Pam Honzi smiled with pleasure. “It seems like this young warrior is surely startled by the crystalized magic cores, and he is really knowledgeable as he instantly recognized that the inlay in the main snakehead’s eyes were demon beast magic cores instead of any type of magic crystals.” He thought

Qian Jin tried to hold back his surprise with a faint smile from the corner of his lips. His observation wasn’t a total waste as he had seen the carvings on the hydra whose heads were respectively connected to a magic array. It meant that this altar could be roughly divided into nine magic arrays, from which numerous magic arrays were derived. Through the conglomeration and overlapping of these magic arrays, power converged into these nine major magic arrays.

Yet it was impossible for him to see through the complete principles of the magic arrays without being suspected by Pam Honzi within such a short time.

Even if he had greatly improved his memory as a result of taking memory potions for years, he couldn’t do it within this short time period.

Remember all nine magic arrays? Qian Jin chuckled, saying to himself that remembering the general outlines of these nine magic cores was nonetheless attainable.

Seeing Qian Jin smiling, Pam Honzi felt somewhat uneasy, yet he couldn’t figure out why he was feeling this way.

Duren Burg stood on the altar quietly and took out the earthy yellow magic core of the Sand Python from the deerskin parcel around his waist. Scent of the Sand Python started to permeate into the air.

“Isn’t this…Sand Python’s magic core?” Pam Honzi’s pupils immediately contracted and his eyes fixed upon the magic core in Duren Burg’s hand as his mind completely blank. “How could this young warrior own such an advanced magic core?” He thought. Pam Honzi used to think that it was at best for these young warriors to possess a magic core of an upper-mid-level demon beast, but this young guy unbelievably owned a magic core of a high-level demon beast.

All of a sudden, Pam Honzi was caught in a stupor. He felt by instinct that many of his covert plans had been messed up by the appearance of this magic core.

The higher the level of the magic core was, the greater the possibility to extract power from it by using this special second altar would be. Moreover, the power the warrior obtained from the primary awakening would correspondingly get stronger as well.

Pam Honzi swallowed some saliva. In his previous plan, he designed to show Duren Burg a rarely-seen magic core of a high-level demon beast and give it to him as a gift to let him know that he would have a bright future if he joined Pam Family where he would be provided with top-notch magic cores.

Pam Honzi wore a bitter smile. His plan that he created upon hearing that Duren Burg had come to the Infinite City was being changed by these young men. Now, the simple scheme of providing a better magic core had turned futile.

Sizzle…sizzle…sizzle…

A sizzle that resembled millions of serpents flicking their tongues rang from the altar, and a faint light started to hover around the formerly dim rune magic array. As time passed, the light got brighter and brighter.

At the same time, the Sand Python’s magic core grasped in Duren Burg’s hand started flashing out a beam of earthy yellow light, which, as time passed by, was turning more and more iridescent.

“Terrible.” A panicking look showed on Pam Honzi’s composed face. “Get down, Qian Jin! The awakening alter has formed a resonance with the Sand Python’s magic core and has sensed Duren Burg’s hydra blood. Get down, or else…”

Seeing Qian Jin rushing from the altar, Pam Honzi uttered a relieved sigh, “Or else, you two would be screwed…”

Duren Burg carried the Sand Python’s magic core which was giving out a light as bright as that of the sun and lit up the entire surroundings of the awakening altar.

Creak…creak…creak…

A teeth-grinding sound of bulk demons came, coupled with three golden lights rose up from the flanks of the millstone-like altar which seemed to have separated the altar into three sections.

The bottom layer of the altar started rotating from the right side to the left side, the middle layer from left to right, and the top layer from the right side to the left side. Together they produced a bean grinding sound on a millstone.

Numerous sophisticated magic arrays flashed out lights of miscellaneous color to the sky, which then formed a huge ball to circle around this magic altar at a whooshing speed.

A heartrending roar which seemed to be produced by a wild animal from remote antiquity rushed from the altar into the sky.

The image of the hydra that was as dark as ink protruded from the huge altar to a height of one hundred feet. Each of its nine heads was growling atrociously at a different direction.

Shortly, its nine heads turned to Duren Burg, who was standing in front of the altar, with resentment jointly emitted from all eighteen eyes.

Resentment. Profound resentment shone in the eighteen eyes, making people feel desperately terrified. It seemed as if Duren Burg was their long-standing enemy, instead of a descendant inheriting their bloodline power.

Innumerable lights flashed out of the eighteen venomous eyes and pierced Duren Burg’s body as well as the magic core held in his hand. Suddenly, a huge shadow of earthy yellow color and with a length of one hundred meters rushed from the Sand Python’s magic core and started howling at the hydra.

It seemed as if a sleeping Sand Python was venting its rage at the unexpected guest who had disturbed it. It also seemed that a snake king was releasing an attack against its siblings who were wearing the crown of the emperor

The magic core of the Sand Python was collapsing instantly, whose emitted power was conglomerated to fill the shadow of the Sand Python. Soon, a real Sand Python seemed to come into existence, with only a small partition of the shining light grasped in Duren Burg’s hand.

That constituted the essence of a Sand Python’s magic core. In other words, it was the embryo crystalized magic core generated from the inside of the core. When the entire magic core got crystalized, the Sand Python would evolve into the Supreme-level Demon Beast in the legends.

Watching the twinkling crystalized magic core held in Duren Burg’s hand, Pam Honzi accrued an extremely doubtful look in his eyes. It turned out to be a slightly crystalized magic core of a Sand Python. Even if Qian Jin owned the Warrior Heart, he wouldn’t be able to defeat such an atrocious demon beast with the help of a Saint Weapon; he even wouldn’t have the chances to flee.

How did they get this Sand Python’s magic core? Pam Honzi frowned hard. “Was that to say…how come…Fabreidis, one of the three heroes of the [Warrior Hall], had entered the Saint level? Had he entered the saint level?” He thought.

Pam Honzi’s eyes kept narrowing and flashing out a look full of astonishment. Never had an ordinary warrior reached the Saint level, either in the Zence Empire, in the Demon Empire, or in the Barbarian Territories. “Had he reached the Saint level?” Pam Honzi used to think that he was informed of a wrong piece of information, but now it seemed to be true.

If Fabreidis had reached the saint level…Pam Honzi slightly rolled his eyeballs, murmured to himself that in this way, the occurrence of this magic core would be justified. However, it was costly to get the help of a saint warrior.

Qian Jin focused on the rotating three-layer altar, coming to realize that there was an ultimate secret of this altar. That was, more magic arrays could be generated by the already in-place arrays through the rotation of the altar.

Hard. Hard. Too hard. Qian Jin slightly shook his head. The rumor was that this altar was created by a rune apprentice of the Hydra Bloodline Warrior who picked up a little about the runes, but it was completely impossible.

To form a complicated combination of motionless magic arrays involved erudite runes, but to recreate magic arrays in motion would be one hundred times harder.

To make three-layers of magic arrays, which could rotate at different speeds and form new magic arrays was one thousand times harder than making a two-layered alter.

Such an altar was made by a rune apprentice? Bullsh**! Qian Jin cast a harsh glare at the altar. Rune Master! It must be the masterpiece of several Rune Masters who worked with each other with tacit understanding. Yet there were still some deficiencies.

These flaws didn’t lie in the manufacturing, but in the understanding and techniques. It must be the masterpiece by two masters who boasted matching techniques and had been working with each other for a long time.

Qian Jin cast a secret look at Pam Honzi who was in meditation, lamenting that every noble or grand family kept immense secrets. Only those people who had learned the runes could comprehend how difficult it was to make such an altar.

“So…we can only do it by cheating…” Qian Jin sighed. Given the present situation, to truly get the manufacturing method of this altar after getting appropriate materials, he had to relay the principles to his rune teacher, Akenash, a seven or eight-year-old girl, and beg her to teach him the actual details.
