Chapter 503

Chapter 503: Responsibility, A Man Have to Take Responsibility

Qian Jin shivered slightly. Though masked by a metal cover, judging from the way she looked at and talked to Qian Jin, Hayen Brianna seemed to harbor an aura as coquettish as Lucifer Lucy and a touch of sophistication rivaling that of Gomez Jane.

“Are you feeling afraid?” Hayen Brianna flashed a look of infantile jubilation. “Are you afraid that I might pester you?”

“I have to admit so…”

Qian Jin nodded his head straightforwardly. Men loved to have more than one woman. But when they eventually attracted a couple of women, they would be frequented by severe headaches apart from the sense of pride. In the case of Qian Jin who had already several “wives” at home, big trouble might occur if he took off Hayen Brianna’s mask.

The greatest headache came from the Qian Family.

Though he had defeated the young generation of Qian in the face of the public, the Qian Family still towered as a huge mountain for him.

The pressure from the Qian Family was haunting Qian Jin day and night.

For numerous times when the night fell at the Torrent Battle Fort in Yulee City, Qian Jin itched to get one of the “wives” to sleep by his side.

It was not that he didn’t lust for that. He just couldn’t do so.

A man needed to know what responsibilities meant and shouldered his respective obligations in good faith. To sleep with a girl was an easy thing, but that was just a beginning of everything instead of the end in a long-term relationship.

From that time on, the man needed to take responsibility. As a man, you had to be responsible and care for her for the rest of your life. In no circumstance could you put a stop to this when your own lust had been satiated.

Qian Jin was confident in himself in face of the Qian Family, but he also knew that accidents might happen. If he died in battle…

“What are you afraid of?” Hayen Brianna poked her long tenuous fingers at Qian Jin in a highly coquettish way. “I’m not going to swallow you. I don’t mind if you are unwilling to assume responsibility …”

“It is a matter of responsibility.” Qian Jin evaded Hayen Brianna’s tenuous fingers and uttered a faint smile. “A man is born with responsibilities. He who doesn’t shoulder responsibilities isn’t a real man.”

“What a silly man.” Hayen Brianna cupped her chin with her palm and looked at Qian Jin smilingly. “You know what? In some thousands of millions of years, few men will harbor the sense of responsibility, and the number of women who would ask men for the so-called loyalty will shrink a lot accordingly.”

Qian Jin shrugged his shoulders. “Well, it doesn’t go with the time we’re living in.”

Hayen Brianna came close to Qian Jin so as to push him into the corner of the wall and looked at him in a meaningful way. “However, you have more than one woman, don’t you?”

Qian Jin forced a bitter smile. He used to think that Luna would be his single ultimate goal. As pointed out by Hayen Brianna, he had more than one woman now in his life.

“I didn’t do anything with them, because…”

“So what? Are you trying to say that you’re afraid you may die at a young age in a war after having relationships with them, in which case you will leave them mourning?” Hayen Brianna rolled her eyes. “You are able to make them happy at present, but you refuse to do so. In the case of your death in the future, you will make them even more heartbroken?”

Qian Jin looked at Hayen Brianna blankly. He hadn’t ever thought about the above situation.

“Know it or not…” Hayen Brianna nearly stuck her bugling bosom at Qian Jin’s chest, while the latter had already backed into the wall behind him. She then said with a delicate fragrant voice, “The minute you came to save my life, I made up my mind to associate with you in case I survived. It will be good if I can be your wife. If not, I will be your lover……”

“Ferdinando…”

“He’s good, but I have no feelings for him.” Hayen Brianna leaned completely on Qian Jin’s body. “The first time we met, I felt that you were a man of courage. Knowing that you made a great deed in the Demons’ territory upon our second encounter, I developed a feeling of admiration toward you. When you came to rescue me and faced the appalling Bandit King, I fell head over heels for you.”

“Stop talking. Listen to me.” Hayen Brianna covered Qian Jin’s lips with her tenuous fingers. “No woman can escape having a crush on the man who comes to rescue her. Seeing you coming to rescue me and fighting with the Bandit King dauntlessly, I knew you would be the one and only hero in my life.”

“Hero.” Hayen Brianna lifted her fair arms to circle Qian Jin’s back, trying to hold this very hero within her bosom, and said softly, “Take off my mask…”

“Qian Jin. Qian Jin.”

The door was being knocked on by someone in an inappropriately wild way.

Gazing at Qian Jin, Hayen Brianna let out a melancholic sigh. “Well, it took me a lot of courage to confess to you. Who is that intruder? I might not be that courageous next time. So you need to take the initiative next time…”

Hayen Brianna slumped back to the bed and lied there quietly, looking as if she hadn’t woken from her dreams.

As the door was giving out a string of creaks, a speck of dust was triggered to fall to the ground.

Qian Jin pulled the door open. It was Te Jofy who was standing there in excitement. Qian Jin didn’t know whether he should feel grateful or resentful toward this man.

“I’ve found them!” Te Jofy squeezed into Qian Jin’s room, grabbed the teapot from the table, sat down in the chair and looked up to Qian Jin. “The goods you entrusted me to search for from the Roll Family have been found.”

“You found the goods?”

Qian Jin felt completely refreshed by this piece of news. Apart from helping Hayen Brianna, he came to the Frontier this time with another errand. That was, to find the bandit group who intercepted the Roll Family’s caravan in order to get some pay-back.

The passage in the Frontier was of overwhelming importance to the Roll Family, which might bring about a lot of trading transactions here in the future. In case this trading passage was molested, a lot of troubles would be incurred.

To protect the family business from being robbed by the bandits or any other hooligans was the cause for the existence of family guardians.

As the prime guardian of the Roll Family, Qian Jin shouldered the heavy responsibility of safeguard the Roll Family’s property.

Now that the interceptors had been found, he was obliged to fight against them for the benefits of the Roll Family, no matter which bandit group they came from.

“It was the ninth biggest bandit group in the Frontier, the Pekar Bandit Group, that plundered the Roll Family’s caravan twice.”

“Pekar Bandit Group?” Qian Jin rested his chin within his palm and started reflecting. He wasn’t familiar with this name. The ninth largest bandit group in the Frontier several days ago didn’t carry this name.

“Yes, the ninth bandit group.” Te Jofy stopped for a second and said, “Days ago it didn’t rank among the top ten. However, as the leader of the 5th bandit group, the Linacis Bandit Group, was murdered, and the headquarters was robbed, this group was kicked out the top ten ranking, while the Black Wind Bandit had been completely wiped out as well. So…”

Qian Jin uttered an awkward smile and nodded his head. The Black Wind Bandit Group was wiped out by Bhang Wusheng, whereas the decline of the Linacis Bandit Group was brought about by him. The leader of the Linacis Bandit Group was killed by him.

“Are you clear about the Pekar Bandit Group’s location?”

“What?” Te Jofy looked at Qian Jin in doubt. “Are you seriously going there? If you go there, there might be some trouble.”

“Trouble? What kind of trouble?” Qian Jin looked at Te Jofy in surprise. “I’m just getting back my things.”

Te Jofy uttered a sigh. “When I said trouble, I was referring to the identity thing. As you are now a member of the bandit group, you will be mistaken as a courier of this bandit group if you go out to the Pekar Bandit Group. This isn’t corresponding with Wusheng King’s intentions.”

Qian Jin smiled. “I’m not going there with the identity of a bandit.”

The fat on Te Jofy’s face was wriggling. “That is the ninth bandit group. Are you going there alone? In case Wusheng King doesn’t allocate any supporting hands to you…”

“I’m not intending to ask for supporting hands from him.” Qian Jin rose up and relaxed his limbs gently. “I will go there as the guardian of the Roll Family.”

“By yourself?” Te Jofy wondered whether there was something wrong with his ears. However, as strong as Qian Jin might be, he wouldn’t be able to conquer an entire bandit group.

If a warrior himself could decide the outcome of a war, why would there be such a large number of soldiers?

“Take it easy. I’m not alone.” Qian Jin smiled while walking toward the door. “I have my own team. Some of them aren’t here right now but the available ones at hand are enough.”

Enough? Te Jofy wore a greater sense of curiosity. Did he mean to take Marc Gavin there? If this leader of the Torrent Battle Fort unleashed an attack in the Frontier, the Bandit King would do the same, as this was at his jurisdiction. Involvement of leaders of other forces was equal to having his dignity challenged.

But if it was Marc Gavin, who would that be? The prince called Zence Matten? Though this prince possessed great strengths, to align with him to quench the entire Pekar Bandit Group was an unattainable dream.

At the time when the Black Wind Bandit Group was squashed and the Linacis Bandit Group broke apart, the Pekar Bandit Group went through a fair amount of growth. By far it had become a group with compelling strength and force, making it hard to deal with this group. It was said that Pekar, the leader of this group, once finished off two peak Golden Warrior-Heart Warriors. The rumor even went that he had reached Soul Power Realm.

The overall strength of the Pekar Bandit Group ranked ninth. With regards to individual combat power, the ranking of Pekar might be unexpectedly high.
