Chapter 425 - Beating Her At Her Own Game

Chapter 425: Beating Her At Her Own Game

After chatting on WeChat, class started.

Just like last semester, Qu Xiaomeng walked into the classroom after the bell rang and was still as cute as ever. However, her lectures had improved a lot in terms of quality as she gradually made her lectures more interesting.

Just as humans are constantly evolving and improving themselves as they grow up, Qu Xiaomeng gradually gained the aura and ability of a good teacher after a semester.

Chu Xia entered the classroom with Qu Xiaomeng. She was chatting happily with Qu Xiaomeng, but she ignored Su Yang.

In the past, no matter who entered the classroom later, Chu Xia and Su Yang would greet each other with a smile.

In the end, Chu Xia did cast a glance in Su Yang’s direction. However, she suddenly retracted her gaze halfway. Aside from that, she did not even look at Su Yang throughout the class.

‘Something’s definitely wrong with her.

‘Could it be because I skipped class on the first day she returned to class yesterday?

‘She can’t be that irritable, can she?

‘That can’t be right.’ As Su Yang thought of that, he lowered his head and pondered if it was something else that he had done.

In the end… he realized that he had not been able to do anything well recently.

‘I see, no wonder Chu Xia is a little angry at me…

‘Should I coax her when I have some free time?

‘But… it can’t be today. After all, I’m supposed to meet Guo Xiaoying this afternoon.

‘I’ll do it next week then.’

Su Yang secretly made this decision.

After class, Su Yang was the first to pack up and walked out.

After leaving the school building, Su Yang arrived at the small garden behind the school building.

‘I had a chat with Chu Xia here once as well.’

After waiting in the garden for a while, Guo Xiaoying arrived alone.

Her large eyes blinked, and the green camouflage military uniform made her look weird.

Su Yang was the first to greet her. “Good afternoon.”

“Good afternoon, Senior,” said Guo Xiaoying as she sized up Su Yang with her big eyes.

After sizing him up for a while, she smiled and asked, “Are you very close with Qu Xuan?”

Su Yang was stunned. ‘Qu Xuan?

‘Why is she mentioning Qu Xuan all of a sudden?

‘Could it be… She’s noticed something?’

He played with the [Memory Labyrinth Hourglass] in his hand and nodded. “Yes, we’re close.”

Guo Xiaoying asked, “Then, are you approaching me to ask for Little Ya’s WeChat?”

Su Yang was shocked. ‘Is this girl so smart? Or have I been too obvious in my approach?

‘Could it be my “champion” teammate Qu Xuan that’s been too obvious?’

He laughed. “No, of course not. My motive of wanting to be friends with you is very simple.”

Guo Xiaoying chuckled and narrowed her eyes. “If it’s not to help Qu Xuan, then your motive for wanting to be friends with me would be even more complicated…”

Su Yang was speechless.

He thought about it and realized, ‘That’s true…

‘But aren’t you… making me stuck at a dead end?

‘No matter how I answer, it would end up wrong anyway!’

Seeing that Su Yang was speechless, Guo Xiaoying smiled smugly. She walked two steps forward and found a stone chair behind the garden. Then, she swept the dust off the stone chair and sat down.

After she sat down, she turned to look at Su Yang and asked, ” I doubt that you’re asking me out alone just to have a chat with me, are you?”

Su Yang shook his head and said, “Of course not. I just… Well, how should I put it?”

Su Yang sat down on the stone chair opposite Guo Xiaoying and slammed the [Memory Labyrinth Hourglass] on the table.

The sound of the hourglass hitting the table was crisp and time seemed to have stopped. Guo Xiaoying was still smiling, the leaves were still dancing, but everything was frozen.

Space started to distort itself and spun around like a vortex that entered Su Yang’s eyes eventually.

The moment everything entered his eyes, an idea popped up in Su Yang’s mind. ‘Hang on, should I add another point for this hourglass?

‘The [Memory Labyrinth Hourglass] has always been useful for me, so it wouldn’t be a bad idea to give it +3.’

Just as Su Yang was considering the feasibility of this idea, he followed the vortex and entered Guo Xiaoying’s memory.

It was the umpteenth time that he had entered someone else’s memory world, hence Su Yang found himself very familiar with the process. He strolled along Guo Xiaoying’s memory lane like he was taking a stroll in a park as he looked into her memories.

‘Guo Xiaoying is born in a small family in Suzhou. Her father is a doctor and is the eldest in the family. She also has a younger brother.

‘Her mother is a teacher whose income and social status were quite ideal. Therefore, Guo Xiaoying ended up growing to be an eccentric and fearless girl.

‘Since primary school, Guo Xiaoying’s grades have always been good, hence she managed to enter a local high school and finally arrived at Shanghai University now.’

Su Yang did not go through too much of Guo Xiaoying’s memories. After all, he was on a tight schedule.

Then he searched Guo Xiaoying’s memory for Xue Ya’s WeChat. Soon, he found three pieces of memories.

The first memory was Guo Xiaoying adding Xue Ya on WeChat for the first time. Both of them had just bought a phone, registered a WeChat account and added each other’s phone number.

In the second memory, she had passed on Xue Ya’s namecard to her mother which had Xue Ya’s WeChat details on it.

The third memory was… that particular morning where she used the new phone number given by the school to create a second WeChat account. Then, she directly stole Xue Ya’s WeChat profile picture and adjusted the settings so that others would only be able to read her posts no more than 3 days old.

Su Yang was confused when he saw the third memory. He checked the memory carefully and realized, ‘Guo Xiaoying has already sensed that something was amiss when I contacted her this morning.

‘Then, she slowly slowly managed to link me and Qu Xuan together.

‘That’s how she guessed that I was planning on getting Xue Ya’s WeChat for Qu Xuan through her.’

‘Therefore, she’s now planning to beat me at my own game by registering a fake WeChat account of Xue Ya and then use me to send this fake WeChat account to Qu Xuan. Then, she would chat with Qu Xuan and indirectly expose Qu Xuan’s true colours to the public and ruin Qu Xuan’s image completely!’

Su Yang was speechless as he read her memories.

‘This girl is really evil!

‘She’s even capable of doing such a thing!

‘Creating a fake WeChat account of her best friend and then have it sent to her “enemy” through that person’s close friend. Then, she would dig up everything negative about her enemy and have it published for everyone to see.

‘How did she manage to come up with such an intricate plan?

‘Besides, isn’t she too confident in her relationship with her best friend?

‘If I were a bystander and hadn’t seen what Guo Xiaoying was really thinking, I would have thought that Guo Xiaoying was seducing the guy who fancied her best friend!

‘My goodness, what a terrifying girl.

‘However, now that I know everything about this plan, I’m definitely not going to fall for it.’

At that thought, Su Yang came up with another plan. ‘Should I beat her at her own game and do something evil for once?’

Su Yang pondered for a moment and felt that… he should give it a try!

After he was done with his plans to beat Guo Xiaoying at her own game, he did not waste any more time. Instead, he started to look for Guo Xiaoying’s 1.3 billion yuan project.

After all, he had no idea what Guo Xiaoying’s 1.3 billion yuan was all about and was extremely curious about it.

For the rest of the time, Su Yang was immersed in Guo Xiaoying’s memories. However, he did not manage to find any information about the project.

After he came out from the [Memory Labyrinth Hourglass], Su Yang sat on the stone chair in deep thought with a puzzled expression.

‘What kind of project is it?

‘Is there really such a project?

‘If there really is such a project, how could she not remember it?’

Su Yang was really perplexed…

Although Su Yang had been immersed in Guo Xiaoying’s memories for a long time, it was only a matter of moments for herself. Therefore, she only saw Su Yang sit down, placed an hourglass on the table and stopped talking with a frown on his face.

She waved her hand in front of Su Yang’s eyes. “Senior? Why are you suddenly dazing off? Which girl are you thinking of?”

Su Yang was jolted awake by her voice. It was only then that he remembered that he had exited the [Memory Labyrinth Hourglass]. Hence, he quickly smiled and said, “It’s nothing, I just suddenly thought of something.”

Then, he quietly put the hourglass back into his pocket and said, “Alright then, I won’t take up too much of your rest time anymore. You should hurry along and have your lunch.”

Guo Xiaoying was confused.

‘I’ve only just arrived and sat down, yet you’re already chasing me away… What’s going on?

‘Also… A second ago, he seemed like he wanted to say something, but then said he was going to leave on the next second. That’s so weird.

‘Did he really think of something important?’

Her eyes darted around and her heart skipped a beat as she thought of the reason. ‘I’m sure he must have wanted to ask me for Xue Ya’s WeChat this afternoon. However, he must’ve been embarrassed after I exposed his intentions just now…’

At the thought of this, Guo Xiaoying came up with a plan. She coughed and said, “Senior, I know you are Qu Xuan’s friend and want to help him get Xiaoya’s WeChat.”

“As her best friend, I’m also hoping that Little Ya is able to find her true love.”

“With that said, I’ll give you Little Ya’s WeChat.”

“But, you have to tell Qu Xuan not to harass Little Ya ever again.”

“Although we’re living in the 21st century and there’s gender equality now, his initiative could still be harmful to Little Ya’s image amongst her other classmates.

“I sincerely hope that you’re able to persuade him to reconsider his methods.”

Guo Xiaoying took out her phone from the pocket of her military uniform and sent Su Yang a picture. It was a QR code. “Tell him to contact Little Ya if he has any problems instead of coming here to look for her in person.”

Su Yang took out Little Deeny and opened WeChat.

‘Sure enough, this is the fake WeChat account she created to impersonate Xue Ya.

‘This girl has excellent acting skills. If it wasn’t for the fact that her words have all ended up with [False], I might have actually believed her lies.

‘Of course, the first part where she said that she and Xue Ya were best friends and hoped that Xue Ya would find true love was [True]. However, the rest of it… were all nonsense.’

However, Su Yang, who had learned about the girl’s plan from Guo Xiaoying’s memory, intended to beat her at her own game as he said, “Alright, I will let Qu Xuan know what you’ve just said.”

Guo Xiaoying smiled faintly. Then, she flicked the brim of her green hat and said, “Alright then, I’m going to eat now, Senior. I still have military training this afternoon.”

Su Yang nodded and stood up as well. “Sure. I was just about to leave as well.”

The two walked out from behind the education faculty and waved goodbye.

Just then, Chu Xia walked out of the education faculty with a smile on her face.

Su Yang didn’t see her, but Chu Xia saw Su Yang and Guo Xiaoying.

The smile on her face instantly disappeared.

After Su Yang and Guo Xiaoying left, she heaved a sigh of relief.

However, she pursed her lips when she saw Su Yang leaving and was a little unhappy…

When he got home, Su Yang used his WeChat to scan the QR code that Guo Xiaoying sent him. Then, he wrote four words as a remark on his friend request, ‘I am Su Yang.’

Guo Xiaoying had just arrived at the cafeteria. Before she could sit down to eat, she heard a notification on WeChat.

She picked it up and realized that it was a notification from her second WeChat account.

She was delighted. ‘Has Qu Xuan taken the bait already? That was quick.’

She opened her WeChat account happily and opened her friend request only to see, ‘I am Su Yang.’

She froze on the spot as the expression on her face froze as well.

‘Why is it… Su Yang?

‘What could’ve gone wrong… I don’t understand…
