Chapter 1113: Head Lab Assistant Zitra The Cruel

Chapter 1113: Head Lab Assistant, Zitra The Cruel

In less than a few breaths, the Whisper Striding Arrow flew deep into the heart of Polkentin's Underwater Secret Base.

Crack..! Boom!

The Whisper Striding Arrow pierced through a thick solid metal door and flew directly toward the room's center.

"Who dares to interrupt- Ahk!" A squeamish voice cried out.

The Whisper Striding Arrow struck the source of the voice and unleashed a large build-up of energy that erupted from its arrowhead.

The one hit by the arrow was a middle-aged man who stood awkwardly hunched over. The man was draped in a tattered coat that seemed to have absorbed a myriad of colors from years of experiments gone awry. He had wild unkempt hair that was frizzled as if it had been struck by lightning around his head with streaks of gray mingling with the remnants of its faded blonde color.

Thick round glasses magnified the man's eyes and revealed a manic glint that hinted at untamed brilliance. And, scattered across his face were smudges of what resembled ink and soot.

This man was the target sought out by the Whisper Striding Arrow, the Head Lab Assistant of the Mad Alchemist Polkentin, Zitra.

Zitra grabbed the arrow that penetrated right into the center of his chest. However, as he looked down and was about to pull the arrow out, a strong gust of wind blew before him. At the same time, a sword emerged from the shadow beneath Zitra, accompanied by a high- pitched screech and Izroth at its other end.

A few moments ago, when Izroth shot the Whisper Striding Arrow and activated Flickering Steps, he also used two other skills-Shadow Blending and Shadow Movement.

Shadow Blending greatly reduced Izroth's presence whenever he was in a shadowed area. And, Shadow Movement not only granted Izroth a boost to his agility but also fused the user with their own shadow for thirty seconds and allowed them to move freely.

Using a combination of the three skills, Izroth followed the shadow of the Whisper Striding Arrow and the path openings it left as a means to directly deliver himself to Zitra's location! Izroth was unable to pinpoint Zitra's location with his Energy Vision Sense or the Law of Wind; therefore, he figured Zitra was using some method to hide himself. However, just as Izroth expected, Zitra could not hide from the Whisper Striding Arrow, an item that would hit its target without fail.

In the split second that Zitra was distracted by the arrow abruptly pierced into his chest, Izroth canceled Shadow Movement. He then emerged from the shadow along with the Sword of the Storm and used the Seventh Sword Form: Motionless Killing Stroke to launch an attack aimed at the center of Zitra's torso.

Simultaneously, as Izroth canceled Shadow Movement and struck out at Zitra, he employed Appraisal to look at Zitra's information that was hidden by the system.

'Oh? To think that a hit from the Whisper Striding Arrow did over 3 million damage. I can see why the Enati can only make a few every cycle in the Ancient Celestial Realm. It's a shame I can only use it two more times.'

After his sword pierced through Zitra and his body completely emerged from the shadows, Izroth's free hand shot toward the Whisper Striding Arrow as he grabbed ahold of it and pulled it out of Zitra's body at the same time as his Sword of the Storm.

'I did not expect his HP to be only half that of the Failed Chimera I came across earlier. I should end this before it becomes somewhat troublesome.'

For a level 75 rare boss, Zitra's HP was definitely on the lower end. Naturally, Izroth suspected that Zitra must have a few tricks up his sleeves. However, Izroth did not intend to give him a chance to use them.

Almost immediately after Izroth retrieved the two objects, he felt a cold and sharp energy speeding toward him.

Zeeeut!

Izroth's Flickering Steps had already come to an end. Therefore, without hesitation, he activated Primed Instantaneous Movement and moved a couple of meters away from Zitra as a deep cut appeared on the ground where he had just stood.

Izroth took advantage of the small window of time created by the stun from his seventh sword form, leaving Zitra with no room to respond to his actions as he retrieved the Whisper Striding Arrow before its disappearance and created some distance.

"Who are you?! How dare you interrupt my precious research!" Zitra scowled with a scalpel in his hand that emitted a wicked aura.

Izroth placed the Whisper Striding Arrow into his inventory. While doing so, he removed a silver circular disc from his inventory. The silver disc was roughly thirty centimeters in diameter with magic symbols carved onto its surface. It hovered above Izroth's hand and released a faint humming sound as it rotated.

Izroth casually tossed the silver disc toward the room's center and into the air. In the blink of an eye, the silver disc expanded to approximately forty meters in diameter-enough to cover the entire room.

If one looked upward, they would be greeted by an unnerving reflection of themselves and their surroundings in a twisted and distorted world. This was brought about by the S-ranked magic item Izroth received from Morrighan after trading some of the Blood of the Immortal Hydra he obtained during his time in the crusade, the Silver Inversion Disc.

Battle Alert: <«<Head Lab Assistant, Zitra The Cruel»>'s Physical Resistance and Magical

Resistance have been reduced by 75%.0

Battle Alert: <«<Head Lab Assistant, Zitra The Cruel»> has been affected by <<Inverted Reality>>.

The moment Zitra was affected by the Silver Inversion Disc, the magic item's power was instantly reduced by 2%.

'It took ten percent of its power to activate at its current range of influence and another two percent to affect Zitra. It's consuming 0.05% per second. Is it so low because it's only affecting a single target?'

Since this was his first time using the Silver Inversion Disc, Izroth was unsure of the precise amount of power it consumed based on certain functions.
