Chapter 1367: Five Elements Core
Taking on a personal disciple could be considered either necessary or unnecessary, it all depended on one’s own choice.
Yi Tianyun currently possessed countless treasures, yet had no one suitable to pass them on to. Even Yi Sixue and Shi Xueyun weren’t fully compatible with his inheritance, so he couldn’t teach them everything he knew.
What he needed was a disciple compatible with the martial arts he cultivated, only then could he properly pass on his legacy. The benefit of this was clear, not only gaining a loyal disciple, but potentially nurturing a future powerhouse!
If there was one thing he had in abundance, it was resources. Training a disciple would be incredibly fast, just pour resources into them relentlessly. Top-tier Heavenly Dao martial arts? Not even an issue.
However, he had yet to find someone who met his requirements. He needed someone with a balanced affinity across the five elements, just like himself, someone who could cultivate into a Ten Refinement Earth Monarch.
“This can wait. That kid was kind of interesting.”
Yi Tianyun had developed a bit of interest in that bold youngster.
Courage and guts alone made him worth considering as a disciple. Perhaps not a core one, maybe as a registered disciple first.
He didn’t demand extraordinary talent. The first requirement was absolute loyalty. Without that, how could he pass on anything? Next came diligence and hard work. Talent came last.
Even a less talented disciple could play an important role in the long run. Not every disciple had to become a genius or surpass him, they could simply be loyal and steady.
Such disciples could still take part in major decisions and planning.
Shifting his attention back to the wall, Yi Tianyun continued his walk along the long corridor. The scenes around him kept shifting, showing various parts of the Three Realms, all functioning smoothly and in order.
In the years since his retreat, everything remained peaceful and united.
Generally speaking, nothing would go wrong unless he’d provoked a serious enemy. Now, he had indeed made enemies, but who would suspect him?
Especially with Heavenly Venerable Slaughter God’s death, no one would imagine that Yi Tianyun, from a First-Grade God Territory, could kill a Heavenly Venerable!
As he walked on, he realized just how long the corridor was. It had essentially flattened the Three Realms into a single long hallway, allowing complete surveillance of every detail.
No wonder it felt endless. Even so, Yi Tianyun kept a brisk pace while continuing to scan his surroundings.
“Once your cultivation reaches a certain level, observation rooms like this become pointless. I guess this place is more like a walking path for someone with nothing better to do…”
After all, at the Earth Monarch level, divine sense could scan any corner of the realm at will, visual observation was redundant.
Still, maybe the creator just liked it this way, Yi Tianyun wasn’t going to argue.
Before long, he spotted an exit ahead and quickened his pace, shooting through the corridor and emerging on the other side.
What greeted him was a glowing orb of five-colored light, spinning slowly and radiating an endless stream of energy.
Five Elements Core, Sixth-grade core. A super core of extremely rare class. Fused from the five elemental attributes, harmoniously supporting one another. The power it holds is overwhelming. This is the might of the Supreme Five Elements!
“A sixth-grade core… and it’s the Supreme Five Elements kind?”
Yi Tianyun gasped. Sixth-grade was already rare, but a core that fused all five elements? That was almost mythical! Single-element cores were rare enough, this multi-elemental fusion was truly unheard of.
He never expected to stumble upon the very location where such a core was housed.
This made him think of the other two cores, were they also Five Elements Cores? At least for this one, there was no doubt, it was the real deal! That meant he could absorb its energy and possibly form his own Five Elements Core through internal fusion.
He already possessed metal, water, and wood attributes, lightning didn’t count as one of the five elements. So absorbing this could fill in the missing earth and fire energies.
“This is insane… a Five Elements Core in a single orb…”
He could feel the terrifying energy radiating from it, perhaps even stronger than a Heavenly Venerable. It was so intense he didn’t dare get too close, the energy waves alone might obliterate his soul.
Surveying the surroundings, he found nothing else, just the Five Elements Core in the center. No other entrances or features.
Behind the core lay a dead end. That was all.
“Absorb this Five Elements Core, and you will become the true Master of the Mortal World. Simultaneously, two new trial paths will be unlocked.”
A line of text suddenly appeared in the void, startling Yi Tianyun. He hadn’t realized this was a trial mission. Absorb the core, and you’d become the Mortal World’s ruler.
“Ding! Special mission accepted: ‘Become the Master of the Mortal World’. Completion reward: Title – ‘Mortal World Master’. Grants access to the strongest effects of the Mortal World! No other rewards available.”
“So there’s a title for that? I thought I already controlled the Mortal World…”
Yi Tianyun was surprised. With his current power, he’d assumed he already held that status.
But upon seeing this Five Elements Core, he realized that true mastery meant possessing this core. The Five Elements Core was the embodiment of the Mortal World’s power.
And… there were no extra rewards. Not even experience points?
He was slightly speechless. Such a massive task, and only a title?
Still, he didn’t dwell on it. If the reward was this simple, it probably meant the title itself held incredible power, so much so that no extra compensation was necessary.
“The true Master of the Mortal World, huh? Looks like I have to try this.”
Eyes lighting up, Yi Tianyun sat down and began absorbing the energy from a distance. If he could draw in its power, he could instantly condense two more elemental cores inside himself. That would meet the requirement of five planetary cores, necessary for breaking through to Heavenly Venerable!
If successful, he would instantly be two steps closer.
Without delay, he began rapidly absorbing the Five Elements Core’s power, carefully channeling it into himself. After a period of buffering, he successfully condensed two new core energies, earth and fire!
Two planetary cores formed at once, something truly unprecedented.
“I wonder… what kind of power will I gain after fully absorbing this and becoming the true Master of the Mortal World?”
Yi Tianyun was filled with excitement. If successful, it might be the edge he needed to win the God Territory War. Perhaps only by reaching the Fourth-Grade God Territory level could he truly secure his place.
Even with Heavenly Venerable Li Tian’s help, having an extra trump card of his own was always a good idea.

The only thing Yi Tianyun focused on now was frantically absorbing the energy of the sixth-grade Five Elements Core. It felt like he had stumbled upon an invincible treasure. This kind of item already surpassed upper Heavenly Venerable divine treasures in value, possibly even rarer.
A sixth-grade core was already astonishing. But a Five Elements Core? Its effects were on a whole other level.
Yi Tianyun couldn’t help but marvel, what kind of divine being had created the Three Realms? What terrifying cultivation level had they reached? He couldn’t believe it was merely a Heavenly Venerable. It had to be someone far beyond, a realm that transcended even the heavens.
After all, just the fact that they were a Ninth-Grade God Rune Master showed they were already above the Heavenly Venerable stage. But what lay beyond that? He couldn’t even imagine. The only certainty was that such a being could squash a Heavenly Venerable like Heavenly Venerable Slaughter God with a slap, simple as that.
Yi Tianyun figured he might be able to uncover answers at the Fourth-Grade God Territory.
As time passed, two more elemental cores gradually formed within him. Because this was a Five Elements Core, all other elemental energies converged into it, surging into the planets within his body.
There was no real issue with this, it just meant he was absorbing more energy to further enhance the size of his internal planets. If he had started with no planetary cores at all, this would have meant forming all five at once. That kind of breakthrough was truly monumental.
Of course, he hadn’t entered empty-handed, he already had several planetary cores. Without them, he wouldn’t even have been able to break through, much less enter this place.
Years passed. Outside, the Three Realms God Territory developed rapidly. Under Shi Xueyun’s leadership, everything was thriving. Cultivators advanced swiftly, resources were lavished on growth, and the influence of their forces expanded. Spirit herbs were harvested, fierce beasts hunted, and rewards generously distributed.
As for other factions, none came knocking anymore. Those who had sought him already had, those who hadn’t never would. And if anyone did come, Shi Xueyun would handle it, Yi Tianyun had no need to personally intervene.
Fifty years passed in the blink of an eye. Yi Tianyun had spent all that time in seclusion, slowly absorbing and condensing the core’s energy. It was the longest cultivation stretch he’d ever undertaken, but the absorption was painstakingly slow.
The Five Elements Core’s energy was dense to the extreme. Drawing even a sliver of it was like a game of tug-of-war, exhausting and difficult.
The core’s stability made it almost impossible to absorb efficiently. But no matter how hard it was, he persisted. He had time, and this was essentially cultivation anyway.
After fifty years, all five planetary cores had finally formed, orbiting within his body and endlessly radiating elemental power throughout.
But that wasn’t the end.
He still needed to merge those five planets into a single, massive Five Elements Core to complete the breakthrough.
If not, it would be a failure. Simply forming five planets was just the foundation, it wasn’t true success.
“Time to merge them. I must succeed. Failure means… death.”
Yi Tianyun’s eyes blazed with intensity. Merging five planetary cores was an enormous risk. If he failed, his body would be destroyed. But if he succeeded, not only would he complete the mission, he would become the true master of the Mortal World!
BOOM!
A deafening explosion rang out as the five planets collided, shaking the space around him. The impact shattered them instantly into a cloud of fragments.
Yi Tianyun felt like he’d been hit in the head with a hammer. Ringing filled his ears, he nearly blacked out.
“Stabilize the spirit platform!”
He gritted his teeth, clinging to consciousness. If he lost it now, he was dead for sure. Even if he had backup lives, he didn’t want to experience death. More importantly, this process had to succeed in one go, if he failed now, even resurrection might not let him try again.
Staying alert, he began gathering the countless fragments and the scattered energy around him, pulling them back together.
Little by little, the debris started to reform, slowly coalescing into a massive core.
But the process would take a long time. The bigger issue was the dispersing energy, if he took too long, it would dissipate, and the fusion would fail.
Without enough energy, how could he possibly succeed?
Yi Tianyun was racing against time, doing everything he could to speed up the fusion. But it was still too slow. It was like building a massive palace brick by brick with just one person. The time it would take was unbearable.
“Too slow… far too slow…”
Sweat poured from his forehead. He hadn’t expected the fusion to drag on like this. If things continued at this pace, failure was inevitable. Five planetary cores was too much for such a slow method.
Building a hut might be manageable. But a castle? Not with one builder.
“Can I use Crazy Mode to speed it up?”
Without hesitation, he activated Crazy Mode, and instantly, his energy surged to a terrifying new level.
His speed multiplied by 128 times!
The planetary energy within his body roared to life, circulating at an insane rate.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Meteorite fragments slammed together like thunder, rapidly forming half of the massive new core. And this happened in just a blink of an eye.
Compared to before, the speed was beyond comprehension, 128 times faster!
It exceeded Yi Tianyun’s expectations. He’d only wanted to try it out, but it actually worked. The core’s fusion was now progressing at visible speed.
“At this rate, I’ll be done in just a few days!”
Joy surged in Yi Tianyun’s heart. A huge core glowed brilliantly as it rapidly took shape. With progress this fast, he’d be done in days, no long wait required.
His earlier anxiety vanished completely. The danger of failure was now behind him.
“It’s just a pity that Crazy Mode doesn’t apply to absorbing energy… otherwise, I wouldn’t have spent fifty years on it…”
This was one limitation of Crazy Mode, it couldn’t help speed up energy absorption, only internal processes like fusion.
Even so, the breakthrough was within reach. And once complete, Yi Tianyun would become the true Master of the Mortal World.
