Chapter 2059: Lucky Chance?
As she entered the palace, fierce purple flames surged, revealing the hall’s layout as though welcoming her inside.
The surface of the walls and the ground carried an archaic purple and obsidian sheen which told her a significant amount of time had passed here than the other immortal inheritances she had seen, like the Earth Dragon Immortal’s Inheritance that was fairly archaic itself.
Without fear clouding her eyes, she sauntered forwards and walked through the hallway until she came across a tombstone that radiated an eerie yet fierce aura.
[The one who seeks to obtain this inheritance must be prepared to face the consequences in the near future. This inheritance gives you immense power, but it is not easy to obtain, much less easy to absorb. Furthermore, your life is not guaranteed during the trials because the dangers you will face would be many times more significant than the other immortal inheritances situated in this world. Failure means death. If you are not confident enough, now is the time to turn back.]
Evelynn stared at it for a while before she continued walking forwards across a different section, whereupon the entire view behind became veiled in shadows, effectively sealing off her path of return. However, Evelynn paid no heed as she kept moving in a straight line.
Purple flames lit up as she closed in on them, lighting the pathway. Before long, she arrived in a spacious hall, whereupon a gaseous cloud surged and turned into a Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid like Misteltae. However, Evelynn couldn’t help but feel that there was something different about this arachnid, but she couldn’t tell the difference due to its features appearing muddled.
“Oh?”
That Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid moved its mouth, revealing razor-sharp teeth as it hissed in a sharp female voice.
“A female descendant of my Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Species has carried her foot here to this crumbled space? Including you, how many is that?”
“Whatever, it’s been quite a long time since a descendant showed up. I can only hope that you are suitable enough to carry the wish of my race as time isn’t on our side. My species could’ve already been completely exterminated, sigh.”
Evelynn looked at this magical beast’s remnant soul lament with a melancholic gaze in its eyes.
“Misteltae?” She narrowed her eyes, “Does that name ring a bell?
“Misteltae?” The Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Immortal wondered before it shook its head, “I don’t know who that is, but I can feel that you have the bloodline aura of Flaylock in you, meaning that this Misteltae must be a descendant of his bloodline descent.”
“Flaylock?” Evelynn inclined her head as though she was confused.
“Flaylock is one of us, a Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid who was the last of three magical beast eggs to be released to a King Grade Inheritor because we’re lacking in time and could not keep eggs alive for that long since- Well, do you know if Flaylock or his descendants is still alive?”
Hearing its question, Evelynn thought for a moment before she shook her head.
“All I know is that there are no Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid species to be seen in the Fifty-Two Territories. They don’t exist anymore while I obtained Misteltae’s blood from a remnant tomb. She explained that she failed to pass the heavenly tribulation and decided to refine her body into blood essence since she only had a few days to live. Furthermore, she remarked that it was a sad reality for her Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Empire Nest in the so-called First Haven World that I have no idea of, which means your species is more or less exterminated.”
“What a failure and a catastrophe to my Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Species. Even in the First Haven World, my species is hunted. Sigh, it seems that the heavens truly wish for us to die.”
The Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Immortal’s voice sounded deeply hurt. It sounded like an elder lamenting the fate of its child, but its two eyes flashed with a deep glint as it returned its stare to Evelynn.
“In any case, I recommend you take the Emperor Grade Trial or the Immortal Grade Trial since you already possess our blood. What’s it going to be?”
“If I pass the Emperor Grade Trial, when will I be able to participate in the Immortal Grade Trial?”
Evelynn didn’t immediately answer but asked with a nonchalant expression on her face, causing the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Immortal to look at her rather more closely before it moved its front leg that possessed a sharp scythe before it hid its mouth, its body shuddering as though it was giggling.
“Whenever you want since the energy accumulated is enough for this trial to operate many times, although it is a matter of whether you’re alive to face this trial again or not.”
“…?”
Evelynn blinked.
Many like her have entered before but have failed to claim this inheritance, all having died? It didn’t make sense to her. How hard could it be?
Feeling suspicious, Evelynn moved her lips.
“Emperor Grade.”
Since she could access the Immortal Grade Trial any time she wanted after passing the Emperor Grade Trial, she decided to choose the safe route.
The Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Immortal stared at her with even more interest before revealing its razor-sharp fangs and gesturing with its two forelegs.
“A wise choice since none have passed the Emperor Grade Trial so far. In any case, do your best to survive. If you fail, you will die. If you pass the trials, you will obtain my blood essence, the noble blood of an Emperor-Tier Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Immortal.”
“…!?”
Evelynn’s expression faltered for the first time since she entered the inheritance palace.
An Emperor-Tier Magical Beast Immortal?
Not even the Earth Dragon Immortal or any other immortal magical beasts, for that matter, were of King-Tier, much less Emperor-Tier, but she actually chanced upon an Emperor-Tier Magical Beast Immortal Inheritance!?
