Chapter 2827 Pushed Into A Corner?
Patriarch Yinakin Zyrus merely smiled at Mo Tian, who made a sarcastic joke at him.
However, his lips couldn't help but twitch, not because Mo Tian made fun of his words but the fact that the Minn Family had won four votes. This was ridiculous as it would also mean that Mo Tian would also gain four votes.
After all, they did say that they gave him voting power equivalent to the best provincial power, and now, Mo Tian possessed even more voting rights than a few major powers. Not only did he feel that it was ridiculous, but he was also worried that the other powers would start complaining about this matter.
If they did, he imagined that this alliance would not come to fruition in a smooth manner.
However, he didn't say anything about it at the moment as he declared the start of the next segment.
Instantly, everyone's gaze couldn't help but fall on the Cyan Soul Rat Clan, the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan, the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clan, the Golden Crow Clan, the Goldlust Rat Clan, Dark Void Flame Tribe, and the Dynastic Evernight Phantasm Spirit Tribe as this was their stage.
No power was allowed to make a move in this segment as they didn't possess immortal inheritors. If anyone could, it was the Blazing Thunderlight Sect. However, its founder already made it clear that she was not going to participate in the Candidacy, therefore, leaving her out of this segment.
Just as everyone wondered who was going to enter the battle stage first, a power quickly made a move.
It was none other than the Golden Crow Clan.
Their immortal inheritor appeared to be a male fey and arose blazingly powerful as his aura flared, causing the entire inner hall to heat up as they were thrown into a sauna. Each power of the elders couldn't help but erect a barrier as they made an annoyed expression, but they didn't say anything to that immortal inheritor.
At this moment, the female immortal inheritor from the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan gracefully landed on the battle stage.
Davis recognized her as the elegant who survived the assassination attempt of an Immortal Emperor assassin with utter calm.
Her white dress was draped in flowing layers of silk that swirled around her like a waterfall. The fabric was lightly dyed a rich shade of crimson, a color that spoke of passion and vitality. Her green hair was arranged in an elaborate style, with delicate pins and combs holding it in place. A single blossom was tucked behind her ear, a simple but stunning adornment.
As for her golden eyes of a wolf, they were simply serene beyond compare, as though her thoughts were motionless or unreadable.
Nonetheless, she raised her hands and cupped her fists.
"Renfa Jadelight surrenders."
Everyone couldn't help but nod at her elegant manners, but the moment they heard her words, their smiles faded.
"Thank you for going easy on me~"
The Golden Crow Clan's immortal inheritor cupped his hands and saw Renfa Jadelight outside with courtesy.
"..."
This scene left countless people shocked, including Davis, before he couldn't help but chuckle lightly.
"I see Wolf King made the first cunning move at the last segment. How many votes were you promised from the Golden Crow Clan?"
"Sigh, I should thank you for this. Having your presence in my clan made it easier for me to negotiate a few things, allowing me to secure a vote from the Golden Crow Clan if they obtain the first place, which they should, considering that everyone should be giving up one after another as no one would want to reveal their immortal inheritors' powers before the Candidacy."
Davis blinked as the Starlight Jade Wolf King made it sound like he sold him or something. Nonetheless, he could understand the other party's words.
And indeed, as the Starlight Jade Wolf King predicted, the Golden Crow Clan's immortal Inheritor surrendered to the Dynastic Evernight Phantasm Spirit Tribe's Immortal Inheritor, who suddenly appeared on the battle stage.
Quickly, the other inheritors mobilized as they gathered on the battle stage, causing a scene.
"What is this?"
"Even in this segment, you people still resort to scheming instead of actually battling?"
"If this is the case, then what is the point of having this extra segment that is already unfair to the Non-Candidacy Powers? Are you making a fool out of us?"
Many powers began making a ruckus, causing the Zyrus Family Patriarch's expression to twitch.
The Candidacy Powers, who were also too late to the party, frowned as they now got to negotiate harder for victories.
On the other hand, the Cyan Soul Rat Clan's Patriarch clenched his teeth in irritation and fury. In fact, it wasn't like he hadn't made any moves to buy off powers. However, the only ones he could ask to surrender for them were major powers, and these powers all knew how thirsty they were for votes at this moment.
Therefore, they were ruthless and asked for an extravagant amount of resources from him which he couldn't possibly part with. This allowed the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan to secure a deal with the Golden Crow Clan first, leaving him hesitant and paralyzed as no move seemed better than the other, sometimes even worse.
Nonetheless, the Candidacy Powers didn't pay attention to the ruckus and continued negotiating.
However, what they didn't realize was that the immortal inheritors on the battle stage communicated with each other.
"The Starlight Jade Wolf Clan and the Golden Crow Clan pulled a good one on us. They seemed to be most faithful when it came to battles, but it is now clear that they are also cunning as the other powers present here."
A female voice echoed in the four minds, causing a purple-robed man to send a soul transmission.
"You're right, Goldlust Rat Clan's immortal inheritor, Chanon. We can't let it end like this, so we'll have the Dynastic Evernight Phantasm Spirit Tribe's Immortal Inheritor, Daukran, surrender to one of us."
"Obviously, we can't include the Cyan Soul Rat Clan in it." Daukran spoke with a faint smirk on his lips, "Isn't that right, Zenner Darkflame?"
Purple void flames erupted out of Zenner Darkflame, "Indeed."
"Then I'll take on them since there's nothing for me to display outwardly anyway."
The three of them turned to look at a seven-foot-tall man who appeared like a handsome hunk. He appeared to be a specimen made for the sole purpose of being a stud as his charisma and his chiseled body carved with few obsidian crystals appeared deeply attractive to any woman as though they were looking at a treasure whom they would like to keep close at all times.
"Gawain..."
They felt a sense of facing a wall when looking him, for they knew each other, causing them to smile.
"Alright."
The four of them agreed on one thing, to surrender in order.
Despite the Cyan Soul Rat Clan's Immortal Inheritor sending them soul transmissions with numerous offers, they ignored him and began to surrender to each other.
At first, Daukran surrendered to Zenner Darkflame, allowing the former to leave.
Next, Zenner Darkflame surrendered to Chanon, again allowing the former to leave.
Lastly, Chanon surrendered to Gawain, allowing the latter to remain and gaze at the Cyan Soul Rat's Immortal Inheritor with a faint smile.
"Youil... I hope you have enough soul force to defeat me."
Gawain kept his eerie smile, but the Cyan Soul Rat Clan's Immortal Inheritor, Youil, appeared extremely incensed.
"..."
The crowd simply couldn't make sense of this scene at first as this happened all in a span of thirty seconds, but still, they didn't know how to react to this farce even now, but somehow could tell that it was all in accordance with the unspoken rules as the matches weren't stopped, causing everyone to feel a bit surreal.
However, they slowly couldn't help but turn to look at the Starlight Jade Wolf King, wondering if he plotted this from the very beginning as it ran so smoothly in disfavor of the Cyan Soul Rat Clan!
