Chapter 3236 The Mysterious Black-Robed Woman
Davis stared at the mysterious black-robed woman. Only after a few seconds of unnerving silence did he open his mouth again, his gaze solemn.
"I asked you if you were the World Master. I suppose you are considering you're this silent, not to mention covered up, as though the eyes of mere immortals like us cannot defile your existence."
"Davis…"
Myria echoed from the side, her voice unsure as though half-berating him and half-warning him not to be so rude or impulsive.
However, Davis was just the opposite.
With an infallible opponent in front of him, he felt like he had nothing to fear as his only resort was Fallen Heaven, which at that point was do or die for him. He didn't know if he was fast enough to draw Fallen Heaven to retaliate, but he sure wasn't afraid to cause the heaven and earth to twist in an attempt to drag all things with him to the underworld.
One part of him thought he couldn't be rude to the mysterious person before him either, but a large part of him bellowed that he couldn't show any weakness no matter what!
"Perceive me as anything you want me to be but-"
A melodious voice echoed as the mysterious black-robed woman paused before she closed her eyes and opened, a change appearing in her unreadable pupils, "I'm sorry. I can't let you venture any further for your own good."
"…?"
Davis tilted his head, wondering what was going on.
Obviously, the figure before him was a woman, as her shape and voice were that of a female, but he didn't recognize her voice even though he vaguely felt it to be familiar. It was like he couldn't place his hand on it even though he could see the switch on the wall.
But if him finding this voice strangely familiar was a misconception, then what kind of person would say that they wouldn't allow him to venture further for his own good?
'Is this woman truly the World Master of the First Haven World…?'
Davis was starting to doubt his initial guess that he almost cemented.
"Alright, I understand."
He smilingly nodded, cupping his hands.
"I will turn back as you said and obediently return- heh, do you really expect me to just nod at you and return to the First Haven World?"
Davis's expression was full of mocking, flicking his sleeves as he appeared ready for a battle, "If you're so strong, then why don't you make me scram? I'm sure you can."
"…"
His actions made the others terrified. However, it was what their man, their master, and their leader decided to do, so they firmly planted their legs on the ground even while shivering as they looked at the mysterious woman before them, their hearts pounding as they couldn't tell what she might do with such bravado and challenge from their leader.
"Succeed."
"What?"
The mysterious black-robed woman uttered a single word, causing Davis to frown.
However, she continued after a pause.
"I'm sure you will succeed in your upcoming endeavors, but— the sacrifice is not worth it. Please— turn back."
This time, the mysterious woman's voice even contained a bit of imploring as though she couldn't wait to pour out her emotions on that pause but ultimately suppressed it, causing Davis to become silent.
He did actively use Heart Intent at this moment, but the thing was, he couldn't even feel the presence of the mysterious woman before him. It was as though she was nothing but a mirage, something that didn't exist within this dimension but was like Nyoran's species technique, a technique that allowed her to hide within another dimension.
Therefore, he could only infer what she wanted to convey going by her attitude, body language, and tone of voice, which was basic to him in Heart Intent, which only translated her actions to him as that was imploring him to leave.
But how could he leave when the realm concoction pill was said to grant the power of a realm core in addition to the myriad Laws the realm is mostly inclined to in nature?
For example, if this was the Frozen Wasteland Lower Realm, then the realm would be rich in water, yin, and ice attributes, so the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm, which was said to be rich in space, fire, earth, and metal would be extremely good for him. He had plenty to gain by improving his insights into these Laws, plus gaining at least two or four more levels in prowess, as binding a core would mean a significant increase in prowess, which translates to the same benefits when consuming the pill!
With so many benefits and just a heralding word of doom that he knew was coming for him anyway, as he was an Anarchic Divergent, should he turn back?
Shouldn't he go for the realm pill, strengthening himself so that he could stop the worst from happening?
Then why— why did he feel a strange influence as though he wanted to listen to her no matter what?
"Curses! You're casting Charm Laws on me!?"
Davis reacted, his expression churning as he berated himself on how that would work with this mysterious black-robed woman covering herself fully. Although it could be her voice, he refused to believe that a mere voice could have so much influence on him, causing him to change his tune.
"Or are you using a higher form of Enigmatic Heart Laws? If so, I really must congratulate you since you managed to influence me… to fight back, as I hate being controlled the most!"
*Bzzz!~*
A bolt of annihilative heavenly flames and heavenly lightning swirled like a snake, shooting toward the mysterious woman. The head of a dragon emerged at the tip of the bolt of annihilative heavenly lightning and flames as Davis fused them, turning them into the deadliest single shot he had ever unleashed.
Its prowess reached twelve, the peak of eleven levels higher, even reaching slightly above as he produced a firestorm attack.
However, like a snake slipping through a narrow hole, it went through the mysterious black-robed woman, completely missing her even though Davis could swear that this woman didn't move a single inch as though she didn't think of his attack like anything at all.
He wasn't surprised either, jumping forward as he coated his fist with chaos energy and punched out.
A grayish fist filled with an unbelievably large dense aura compressed into it and shot towards the mysterious black-robed woman again. The all-encapsulating, near-omnipotent properties of chaos would make sure to hit her, but Davis watched his fist pass through her like he was attacking a ghost.
"…"
Myria and the others were dumbfounded, an impending sense of doom swelling in their hearts.
"Aha~"
Davis also lightly laughed, his voice full of mocking directed at himself as by now, if he couldn't understand the kind of entity he was facing, then he should sever all of his senses and obediently stay home.
"If you're a ghost of this realm, then let's see if you can keep your calm after this!"
However, he tripled down with a crazy expression, summoning iridescent black-white energy from both his palms as he extended his arm out, forming a horizontal reincarnation wheel rather than a vertical one. It appeared to spin like a disc as he unleashed it at the mysterious black-robed woman.
"Davis!"
Myria shouted for him to stop, but what was unleashed had already taken flight, the reincarnation wheel instantaneously appearing before the mysterious black-robed woman, cutting through her.
"!!!"
Davis's pupils dilated as he saw there was practically no damage as his attack slipped through her like before, but the reincarnation wheel only went through halfway before he twisted his wrists and clenched his fist, stopping the reincarnation wheel right around the mysterious black-robed woman.
It circled her, abruptly shrinking in order to bind her!
"Seal!"
Davis smashed his palms into each other, causing the reincarnation wheel to bind the mysterious black-robed woman. However, it passed through her body again, directly becoming smaller till it exploded into a shower of iridescent motes, causing Davis's lips to part, his expression stumped.
"Impossible…"
Myria's gaze shook as she muttered the same thing Davis was thinking.
Even reincarnation energy, the bane of all souls, had no effect? It couldn't even cause the mysterious entity to react in some way? Even if it had been a projection, it would've wobbled by now, but the mysterious black-robed woman showed no movement, still floating in the air as though she didn't even place their attacks in her eyes.
How come her soul didn't unleash a single undulation to at least not come into a direct confrontation with reincarnation energy, even if it was extremely weak compared to her true cultivation?
Myria didn't understand, and neither did Davis unless she was truly in another dimension, only projecting her image here, but that didn't seem to be the case either, as her figure didn't wobble at all.
