Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4601: Instinctive Fear

Chapter 4601: Instinctive Fear

Soon, Davis disappeared from their gaze, and Isabella, Tia, and Myria also excused themselves, not wanting to disturb them.

Dewzai frantically read the information as she felt karmic burden falling on her. The information on the table was priceless to her, yet it was given away just like that. She could now understand why Shirley was the way she was.

‘This divergent family doesn’t discriminate…’ She echoed in her heart.

However, that didn’t mean she relaxed.

Dewzai was quite scared.

No matter how she wanted to view Davis as Shirley’s husband, she couldn’t. He was the Divine Emperor of Death, the apex of calamities in the current era. As far as she knew, even in this environment where supreme geniuses from Upper Realms gathered, there was no other Divergent who was as infamous and dangerous as the Divine Emperor of Death. There were only hidden ones that people have long forgotten.

Some Greater Realm supreme geniuses seemed ignorant, but they didn’t have to provide any alternatives either. Even then, she felt it was only a matter of time before they also knew the Divine Emperor of Death was.

It was just- he had yet to grow.

No one could tell what would happen after he grew.

What he become a monster that grew razor-sharp teeth from his eyes and feast on everyone? Would he become a thing of nightmares?

She was worried for her best friend Shirley, but everything seemed fine. It was really such a strange situation. Does the Divine Emperor of Death even need to pretend this much if he were an evil entity?

“Relax…” A hand fell on her shoulder, and she turned to look at Shirley.

“You’re still trembling after he left. Don’t say it is because of the information on the Primarch Grade resources…”

Shirley giggled, patting her.

“No, you don’t understand.” Dewzai looked into her eyes, implying, “This is an instinctive fear coursing through my blood. As an Emperor-Tier Fey, I will not get this feeling even if I meet a male Emperor-Tier Devilish Flame Fox. I didn’t feel it even when we met that arrogant and lecherous tiger from the Exalted Tiger Galaxy who claimed to have a thousand women. We, the women of the fox race, are masters of seduction.”

“Although my Devilish Flame Fox Clan isn’t necessarily masters of seduction since our main attribute is fire, we still have the natural trait of a vixen. We know what we see. Your husband is a seducer of the highest order and brings calamity. Although I don’t have evidence for the former, I think the latter is because he’s an Anarchic Divergent. It is in line with my findings.”

“…” Shirley was speechless.

She had seen countless playboys who came to court her when she was a young lady, but Davis wasn’t someone who could compare to them in terms of degeneracy. In fact, she believed he was still conservative in his approach, so how was he the seducer of the highest order?

“I see…” A calm voice echoed behind them.

“…!”

Dewzai stood on the spot like a spooked fox and froze.

Davis calmly took his hand off Shirley and left again, for real this time.

“…” Shirley gawked as she had her gaze behind.

Davis had actually listened to their conversation!

Indeed, Davis had come back.

He was about to secretly kiss Shirley and give her a hint to rendezvous somewhere before leaving, but he heard their secret conversation instead.

He flew to the skies, turning towards the direction where Niera was located. However, his mind was elsewhere.

‘Interesting… is this a trait of the Being of Original Sin? Dewzai could sense it, but in a different manner?’ Davis wondered while creating some speculations in his heart.

The Being of Original Sin signified freedom, but also domination. It wanted to go against- no, conquer the heavens. Then what are female souls in front of it?

He made a few bold assumptions and felt like he understood why she was so afraid of him.

There was some aura that leaked from the heaviness in the soul due to the necromancy technique, but other than that, he wasn’t intentionally releasing his aura, so he couldn’t understand why this woman, who could reach the eighth step in the Stairway of Regression, was scared, but now he understood.

But seducer? When had he ever seduced anyone?

‘I like the term conqueror instead…’ Davis lampooned.

He headed straight, traversing the fiery scenery, but he slowed down after crossing some distance. Quickly, Myria caught up to him.

“You really can’t bear to be away from me, can you?”

“…” Myria didn’t say any words. Instead, she reached out her hand.

Davis chuckled.

He grabbed her hand, and they traveled together like an immortal couple.

After years they had spent together in cultivation chambers where he reincarnated nine times, they really didn’t need to talk much to understand each other. Just a few gestures were enough. At the same time, being together became so natural for them that Myria now couldn’t bear to be without him by her side if she wasn’t doing anything of concern.

Davis naturally enjoyed this outing.

However, he grumbled, feeling like the heat was unbearably irritating.

Myria also wryly smiled as she began to perspire. They had no choice but to take out a flying boat and use the formation built on it to fend off the hot wind.

Soon, they arrived at their destination.

The flying boat glided smoothly above the blazing terrain, the silent hum of its protective formations cutting through the roar of the fiery winds. Below them, molten rivers threaded through the land like veins of liquid light, and volcanic ridges exhaled plumes of shimmering flame that danced into the horizon. The oppressive heat pressed against the barrier of the boat, warping the air beyond into rippling mirages.

Davis leaned casually against the railing, his gaze fixed ahead. Despite the boat’s defenses, the faint prick of heat still seeped through, brushing his skin like invisible needles. He exhaled, letting his martial energy sweep outward, feeling the turbulent fire-light energy saturating.

“She’s up there…” Myria pointed out above.

Davis’s eyes squinted as he followed her gaze.

High above the scorched expanse, amidst the swirling gold and crimson skies, a radiant point glimmered like a newborn star.

Even from this distance, they could sense it pulsed with a life of its own- pure, untamed, and potent. The tremendous pressure it released washed over them in rhythmic waves, each one allowing them to understand that it was at the level of the Peak Empyrean Stage.

At the core of that brilliance was a delicate figure who was unwavering.

From the silhouette, they could see it was none other than Niera.

Niera floated serenely in the midst of the solar essence, her long blonde hair whipping in the heat-laden winds, her robes glowing faintly as they absorbed fragments of the blazing aura. Her eyes were closed shut. Her expression was calm but sharp, her entire being attuned to the powerful entity above her.

Davis sucked in a cold breath, which turned out to be hot, “Ranked first in the Empyrean Grade Heaven-Tier Flame Spirit Chart- Empyrean Solar Phoenix Spirit. Truly, a marvel…”
