Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4675: Third Step

Chapter 4675: Third Step

’As expected, the subsequent stages lead to acquiring the status of true divinity... godhood...’

Davis couldn’t help but shudder at the implications.

According to the information he usurped from Awudan, the next stage after the Divine Exalt Stage was known as the True Deity Stage.

It was the beginning of acquiring true godhood, a foot into the next step of the cultivation pathway.

The First Step naturally consisted of the First Stage to the Ninth Stage.

The Second Step had five stages. The Immortal Foundation Stage, Immortal King Stage, Immortal Emperor Stage, Empyrean Stage, and the Divine Exalt Stage or the Exalt Stage.

This step represented a significant transformation in one’s physical and spiritual makeup.

The mortal coil is prone to death from injuries. The immortal body is not. It can regenerate at an insane speed, similar to how a magical beast or a spirit will regenerate. Even if they lost their entire body, they would be able to remain alive for a long amount of time as long as their souls weren’t snuffed out. Their bodies were devoid of impurities unless they had cultivation defects. Their souls were of a higher order that even the Reincarnation Cycle cannot reincarnate them on a clean slate endlessly.

In short, immortals possessed a ridiculously high lifespan that spanned across billions of years. Their power was extraordinary that even if a mortal tried to kill them with all their power while they slept, they wouldn’t be able to make a dent. The need for sustenance reduced as long as the space wasn’t dense and there was enough heaven and earth energy.

More than anything, the order of life was naturally higher, finally comparable to immortal beasts and immortal spirits. After all, as humans, their life order was the lowest of the low in the entire universe, leading them to be the most common prey throughout the galaxies. Even wisps that had no real sentience were considered greater. Thus, humans were considered no different than small insects that had long perished due to being unable to adapt to heaven and earth energy. Those who had adapted had already raised their life order level to magical beasts.

This was why tiny insects could be found on Planet Earth, where there was nearly no heaven and earth energy, but couldn’t be found in the immortal world.

Regardless, Davis understood the meaning of entering divinity.

The Third Step was a door to a new life order where humans surpassed immortals to approach divinity, no longer bound to the universe as much as an immortal, slowing becoming their own divine being. Die once, and there’s no Reincarnation Cycle to help one reincarnate, so all of it must be done by themselves. Yet, they become a supreme being capable of destroying parts of a Greater Realm with ease.

*Hss~*

Davis sucked in a cold breath as he could sense Awudan’s awe when the Void Reflection Deity moved.

He could deflect nearly any attack and pull foes into his spatial world, where it was like a mirror world within spatial layers, allowing him to reign supreme. Moreover, Awudan knew his deity wasn’t just an ordinary True Deity.

He had possibly reached the second level of Godskull before making a breakthrough to the True Deity Stage, making him more powerful than an ordinary Divine Exalt who became a True Deity.

Awudan didn’t know what the second level of Godskull entailed, so Davis couldn’t tell either, but as he had initially discussed with Natalya, he guessed it must be the ability to gather more faith from the populace according to their cultivation stages or perhaps their life order.

’Hmm... it seems like Almer Spacewill’s master, Minsk Virm, is not only considered a Peak-Level Exalt, he’s also an Alpha Exalt...’

Davis’s lips couldn’t help but curl with a hint of amusement.

It seemed like he had offended an extremely powerful individual. Almer Spacewill’s master might personally descend to kill him and retrieve the Temporal Voidplane Ring if he were to enter the True Void Galaxy, so Davis felt like not entering it.

’What a pity... I can’t make use of the map I gained from Awudan the Zealot...’

Davis inwardly laughed.

He once again understood that the difficulty of killing these zealots from the Starry Corps was no different than battling a being that could be considered a Quasi Exalt. After all, their prowess was nearly seven levels higher. For Empyreans, that was extremely high when compared to the average. Even Autarch Elluro Coldwing only displayed that kind of prowess.

But the true reason the prowess of the Starry Corps was so powerful was because of...

’One of the True Deity Godskull’s innate abilities is to grant a mark to their loyal or zealous followers. They must at least be at the Empyrean Stage for them to be able to handle the bestowal. For the Void Reflection Deity, it’s called the Starry Mark, which allows them to tap into its power. The more zealous they are, the better they can tap into its powers. Even passively, it grants them a prowess that’s two levels higher, and if they actively tap into it, they could gain a prowess equaling that of an Exalt. However, to actively tap into that mark, the caveat is that they must be within the same galaxy of the True Deity or a range similar to half of that anywhere else.’

’Fuck, I almost died from my ignorance. If I had faced them anywhere else other than this Shard Continent, they could’ve killed and sealed me...’

Davis inwardly cursed with a wry smile on his face.

Fortunately, Davis knew they wouldn’t use it after usurping Awudan. After all, by tapping into an external power, they would break the Spatial Infiltration ability of the Void Loom Bangle and be instantly met with the laws of the Elemental Dimension.

They would instantly die.

However, Davis didn’t know one thing.

If things were to get dicey and hopeless, Captain Yirazul had planned to sacrifice his subordinates and gather their Starry Marks, allowing him to gather passive prowess from them and boost himself temporarily. Although it would break the invisible spatial bubble and cause him to be punished, it at least delayed the response of the laws of the Elemental Dimension, giving him enough time to fulfill his mission. Hence, if Davis had given them enough time, he might’ve already been sealed or at least had the Temporal Voidplane Ring taken from him.

Nonetheless, Davis fully considered if he had missed anything and confirmed that he hadn’t.

Although there were the scouts of the Void Reflection Palace all over the Shard Regions and the Shard Continent, he didn’t bother killing them because not only were there too many of them scattered everywhere, but the news that he was the main culprit had already been carried to the Void Reflection Palace. If he had made a move two days earlier, he could’ve stopped them, but he was busy protecting his family and gathering resources from the marketplace.

Regardless, stopping the news from spreading was nearly impossible because there were multiple entrances to the True Void Galaxy, just like there were multiple entrances to the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy.

At this moment, Davis looked in the direction where Tia had divined a way to the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy. It was towards the edge of the current continent, although it was unknown if it was at the edge or the other side. He could only go and see.

Nonetheless, he first wanted to make sure that Evelynn and the others were safe.

Awudan possibly couldn’t have all the information. Their captain might’ve sent another hidden group towards Evelynn, for example- assassins, or even the Spacewill Tribe might use their powerful spirits to target them. Davis was extra careful when tackling a matter like this, even if Evelynn was capable of protecting the entire fortress by herself.
