Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4679: Way To The Upper Realms

Chapter 4679: Way To The Upper Realms

Davis walked towards her, patting her, indicating that she shouldn’t be disheartened.

He walked past her and finally stood at the edge. At the same time, he kicked a rock. The moment the rock fell off the edge after bouncing over, it was quickly pulled down. It sank at a speed greater than gravity would suggest if it were being devoured by something underground.

Davis wasn’t surprised by this reaction.

He struck the ground with his feet and kicked up a bunch of rocks, each magically aligning itself in a column as they reached the edge and fell off. Instantly, every piece of rock was pulled below.

*Bang!~*

Davis didn’t stop. He walked over the edge, repeatedly doing this.

After five times, he finally found an anomaly.

A few rocks disappeared at the edge.

"...!" Tia and Nadia looked shocked.

Davis’s gaze sharpened at the moment he caught sight of the irregularity.

A clump of rocks hadn’t plunged straight down into the abyss like others. They had simply vanished into thin air.

"There it is." His voice was calm but filled with derision.

Something so simple was hidden in plain sight, but no calamity or spirit dared to get close because of the great chasm’s inevitable pull. Unlike the other side, this was truly a continent’s end, a deep chasm that didn’t seem like it had an end.

He extended his hand and infused a sliver of spatial energy into a palm-sized boulder, then sent it flying toward that same section.

*Whoosh*

*Shrrk!*

The boulder shimmered, distorted, and blinked out of existence without a sound.

"It’s hidden in the folds of space above the pull which causes our perception to fade," Davis remarked, "No wonder we couldn’t sense it."

Tia hurried to his side, her tiredness melting into excitement, "Then this is the spatial vortex!"

Davis quickly stopped her, "However, we don’t know if the rocks I threw had entered inside the fold of space or if they also fell. Hmm, I’ll look into it first."

He moved his hand away from Tia and placed it over his eye.

He formed a karmic thread and connected it to his ’visual perception’ before connecting the other side of the karmic thread to an eyeball he had materialized using his chaotic martial energy. He directly copied one of his eyes, holding it within his palm before sending it over to the fold of space.

"..." Tia gawked, her mouth agape, "What kind of technique is that? When did you learn?"

"Self-learned." Davis said perfunctorily, "My Karma Laws have reached the peak of Immortal Emperor Grade, which is Level Six Abstruse Intent. I’m fairly confident that I can break through to the next intent, but breaking the comprehension limit for Karma Laws can be quite dangerous without some uniqueness like you possess. At least, that’s what my perception attuned to sensing latent danger warns me. Otherwise, I would’ve attempted it already after I made some Empyreans feel sorry just a while ago."

He chuckled at the end, finally seeing his ’eye’ disappear into the fold of space and then looking at the boulder along with the rocks he had thrown inside. It appeared that the spatial fold was like a glass that made them view the distance instead of what was nearby behind it.

He also saw the spatial vortex that led to the true immortal world.

"It’s safe." Davis declared.

Tia couldn’t help but hop with excitement. She was like a little girl, finally finding what she had searched for the past few weeks.

Davis also smiled at her, "It’s your achievement. You’re really proving yourself day after day."

"Hehe~" Tia joyfully shot a smile at him before approaching the folds in the space ahead.

The moment she passed through it, she felt like a curtain draped over her, brushing over her skin as she passed through. Once she took two steps ahead, that feeling disappeared, replaced with a marvelous emotion that made her breath a sigh that was a mix of relief and excitement.

She looked at the spatial vortex ahead that was located right before the cliff.

Nonetheless, she didn’t eagerly walk ahead. She relied on her own senses to detect danger. After all, some dangers only trigger after a lifeform or something that disturbs the area entered.

Tia carefully made her way, followed by Davis and Nadia, who maintained a calm pace behind her.

Unlike her, they were much more sensitive to dangers in this kind of enclosed area, so they didn’t really feel the need to be careful.

The surface they traversed was identical to the edge, consisting of brown soil and rock formations. There wasn’t anything special to it. The terrain increasingly sloped downwards, but it wasn’t too steep. After crossing five meters, they arrived at the edge where the spatial vortex glowed with a purple-silver light.

Davis shook his head, thinking it was such a strange place for a spatial vortex to have appeared.

Did fate want to gamble with the lives of those who walked here? Destroying this terrain when the time is right, so everyone could fall into the depths of the Great Chasm?

Tia also scoffed with similar thoughts. Nonetheless, she was still excited to see where the spatial vortex led.

She turned to look at Davis, "You cannot come with us."

"I know." Davis nodded, "That’s why I had you and Nadia come with me. The two of you will enter and explore the other side. Nadia will protect you while you can use divination to ascertain what the place is with this Upper Realms Map."

Davis handed over something he had gotten from most of the supreme geniuses he had hunted. From it, they would at least be able to pinpoint the general location.

"That’s easy~" Tia giggled.

Once she was out of this Shard World, divination became much easier to perform.

She clutched the scroll from Davis and stored it in her spatial ring.

Nadia jumped from Davis to Tia’s shoulder without saying anything, and the two of them entered through the spatial vortex, disappearing from Davis’s gaze.

Davis awaited them for a while. In the meantime, he played with his own karmic threads, thinking of various insights he could implement to use new karmic techniques. However, unlike the scarlet thread of the Scarlet Destiny Spindle, his karmic thread was basic. Utmost, it could make someone like Tia, who was protected by a karmic thread cocoon to react as though she was tickled.

But for an ordinary person, they wouldn’t feel much even if he were to wrap them around with it. However, he could think of plenty of uses after that, using his karmic thread to trap, kill, torture, bestow karmic sin upon them, and many more.

Exactly five minutes later, Tia and Nadia returned from the spatial vortex, their expressions full of thrill.

"We lucked out! It’s a celestial body that’s outside the sixteen Upper Realms!"

"Really!? That’s great. No wonder no one managed to appear through this entrance."

Davis also shared the same elation. There were no traces of footsteps or even the slightest amount of energy, which made it obvious no one had come through this path.

Regardless, even if it belonged to some power, Davis and Tia were fully intent on plundering it from them as long as it was within their ability. Now, it turned out that it was in some area where Nadia couldn’t find any signs of life in the surrounding ten million kilometers.

It appeared to be a completely abandoned area, capable of allowing the Davis Family to set foot into the Second Layer without being detected easily! They can also transport their Primarch Grade resources there, finally establishing a foothold for their rise!

"..." However, Davis, who had just learned about the Second Layer’s limit from usurping Awudan’s identity, was slightly conflicted.
