Chapter 4699 Behind The Divine Lightning
Fairy Thunderblaze didn't say anything.
She remained quiet as the scenery around them moved continuously as Rioxys Plume weaved through the forest of giant trees. She raised her voice and exclaimed with joy occasionally as she felt the thrill of flying inside a forest where she could slam into a giant tree or an obstacle at any moment.
Despite appearing as a cold adult spirit and maintaining an indifferent expression, one could see that she was still a child at heart, having never really had that much fun in her life.
Davis turned to look at her and imagined she must've been cultivating hard to reach her goal- to find her father and mother.
"There are things that are better left unsaid, and there are things that are better explored and understood by oneself."
Fairy Thunderblaze started, making Davis return his gaze.
"The Divine Lightning I obtained was a source that was left behind by someone, some unknown yet terrifying existence. I do not know who it is, but after I digested Divine Lightning, I came to understand the essence of this forbidden power."
"I have just come across one such piece of relevant information when I ventured into an ancient tomb in a Shard Region. Do you know anything about the concept or the legend of the Nine Primordial Souls, which is rumored to be in line with the legend of the Twelve Paragon Magical Beasts?"
"Nine Primordial Souls…"
Davis looked taken aback, karmic burden filling his soul.
He wasn't even informed of the entire situation, yet just by guessing and connecting with what those Seraphims told him caused karmic burden to fall on him, making him feel like it wasn't as simple as it seemed.
Even if what Fairy Thunderblaze guessed wasn't true, it really didn't seem simple.
Whether he was the incarnation of the Being of Original Sin, it seemed that there were indeed the existence of Nine Primordial Souls in the beginning of the universe. Otherwise, they wouldn't have been named as such, and neither would he have gotten karmic burden from just hearing of their collective title.
"You seem to know something?" Fairy Thunderblaze noticed his reaction.
She blinked, wondering just how much forbidden information he had come across in his time here.
"I met a few Seraphims whom my children befriended. They told me about it a bit… I only know two-"
"Keep that knowledge to yourself." Fairy Thunderblaze waved her hand, cutting him short, "I don't want to know of it now and jeopardize my chances of crossing my heavenly tribulation."
"Even though you are absolutely powerful enough to breeze through it?" Davis looked amused.
Fairy Thunderblaze nearly scoffed but settled for beautifully rolling her eyes, "Karmic burden isn't just an increase of prowess or divergent factor in one's heavenly tribulation. The consequences aren't limited to heavenly tribulation alone but also unique phenomena and influence one's fate to diverge from the current flow. As Divergents, we should really be careful about the third one. Even if we don't do anything, karmic burden will make sure misfortune will converge upon us."
As soon as she finished, her brows narrowed, "But you seem impervious to most of it, creating a family and maintaining peace and harmony as well as collecting a mindboggling amount of wealth as though you're a happy-go-lucky man."
"No need to feel jealous of me. I'm waiting for my due." Davis chuckled.
Fairy Thunderblaze's lips curled with derision, "You say that, but I know you have your ways to deal with it somehow."
"…"
"Heh~" Fairy Thunderblaze produced a sound of 'gotcha' before she continued, "Long story short, these Nine Primordial Souls are apex existences born at the same time as the Twelve Paragon Magical Beasts or nearer. It was said that they held immense power and that each Law they held was categorized as the 'Divine', similar to the Divine Five-Colored Lightning and other Heavenly Laws. Even normal heavenly lightning could be categorized as the 'Divine' but since it's so sporadically used for quintillions of tribulations and probably more, let's not mention it."
She spread her hands, "These 'Divine Sources' are a concentrated form of power, and obtaining even a strand of it, which is what I did, gave me immense power."
In one hand, she summoned golden divine lightning, and in the other, there were scarlet divine flames.
"…" Davis looked intrigued as he added, "So the Divine Thundervine Tempest Gourd you obtained carried the mark of one of these so-called Nine Primordial Souls?"
"No." Fairy Thunderblaze simply said-
-nearly causing Davis to lose footing on the Eternal Eclipse Bird.
"Then…?" he asked.
"I don't think it's one of the Nine Primordial Souls. The information I obtained said they had long sunk into the depths of the reincarnation cycle, their souls completely integrated with the life and death of all lives. There was no information of them leaving some sort of inheritance, and even if there were, I wouldn't have been the first one to chance upon it since there were traces of human activity before in that Shard Region."
"Therefore, I think this Divine Lightning belongs to one of the Supremes of the Dimensions."
"Supremes…" Davis raised his brows in shock.
He only knew of the Life Supreme and Death Supreme. Could it be that in the Elemental Dimension, there was the Lightning Supreme or multiple versions of them?
He couldn't help but look up since she had always felt such invincible or mysterious existences were overseeing the state of the dimensions. For example, the basic one, which most knew but dared not talk too much about, was the Void Hand of the Void Dimension that punishes people for breaking the layer limit.
Just who did it belong to? Just a servant or a Supreme?
Thinking up to this point, Davis sighed, "Zenova, you have hidden yourself deeply. You know so much…"
"…" Fairy Thunderblaze froze for a second before her lips moved.
"As I said, I obtained this information in that particular tomb, and half of it is nonsense and personal thoughts that could only be counted as ravings as though he had gone mad. Even basic information on the foundations of the Immortal Vessel and quite a few known support astral cultivation methods is wrong and would only invite disaster upon oneself."
"…?" Davis frowned inquisitively, "If that's true, then this information shouldn't be spread carelessly or freely."
This reminded him of the black miasma that stemmed from the Cursed Artifact. It made its user go mad.
"Who are you speaking for?" Fairy Thunderblaze went wide-eyed, making Davis feel a little embarrassed.
Admittedly, he was the type of man who shares secrets with his women. However, even he knew what to share and what not to share.
To Tia, he had shared the information on the True Deity Stage because she had low divergence factor and was guarded by the Karmic Guardian Physique, but he didn't share that with Myria because she had a high divergence factor like him. Myria's already powerful tribulation would only become more powerful in that case, which he couldn't let happen.
On the other hand, Tia's tribulation was quite the breeze. She barely had a few Paragon Magical Beast Heavenly Lightning attacking her.
At this point, Tia cared less about accumulating karmic burden and more about accumulating all kinds of information so she could stay vigilant.
"In any case," Fairy Thunderblaze continued, "That's my theory. I don't know if it's right or wrong, but I have certainly bound the Divine Thundervine Tempest Gourd and Divine Scarlet Roar Flameseed, making a contract with a devil. As long as I use these two treasures to collect and digest more spirits of similar attributes, I should be able to generate more divine lightning and divine flame, allowing me to increase my cultivation without limits until I pay my due to this so-called Supreme who owns the 'divine source'."
"Hopefully, it's free…" Davis added with a solemn expression.
"Hopefully," Fairy Thunderblaze could only wish.
She was never the one to think actions didn't have consequences, nor was she naive enough to believe that there was a free lunch in this world just waiting to be harvested. She felt these treasures were intentionally marked by that particular Supreme but what ideas they had eluded her. Regardless, for power, she didn't mind taking the risk.
Unlike Davis, she didn't have the ability to steal heavenly lightning and other Heavenly Laws from the heavens, and neither could she constantly harp on Davis to get them for her, so she decided to bite the bitter fruit and endure.
"What are your thoughts?" Fairy Thunderblaze probed.
