Chapter 4768 Making Preparations To Leave
Evelynn returned to the room and said, "Little sisters, I'll be back shortly."
"No, we're also coming. Let's see if this Jiayi Crystalveil is suitable for our family or not." Isabella giggled.
"From what I've seen, she's capable and ruthless." Bylai looked contemplative again, "She already eliminated a few of her half-brothers who were trying to kill her and gain a stake in her business through force and subterfuge, claiming that she was a devil who had become a slave to the Divine Emperor of Death."
Everyone then turned to look at Myria.
"…" Myria momentarily offered no response. She didn't know anything or was aware of very little, making her feel embarrassed.
She herself was aware that she participated less in the family affairs, so she nodded, "I'm also coming."
"Hehe, don't be peer pressured~" Evelynn giggled ever so lightly, "It is fine if everyone covers some kind of aspect in our household. Even Shea, who doesn't like cultivating, takes better care of the children than all of us. If she isn't there, then I'm afraid that most of the other children wouldn't be united as the Azariel and the others from class one."
"Indeed," Bylai looked a bit guilty, "I haven't interacted much with the little children. I also want to badly see Zestria's child, Silvia, but I can't go back yet. I'm afraid she would've grown up before I could even see her."
Myria was about to nod embarrassedly, but hearing Bylai's concerns, she knew she was also guilty of this. She couldn't help but think of her granddaughter, Lydia, Ellia's daughter. She had spent a lot of time with the little baby in the beginning, but it was still considered short in someone's childhood.
"Perhaps, they must have become teenagers by now…" She said absentmindedly with a sorrowful tone.
A gloomy atmosphere took over them before Isabella giggled, encouraging them.
"Don't worry, when we get back and establish a concealed sanctuary again in some upper realm, we have all the time in the world to become familiar with them~"
Only after hearing this did the three others nod, their faces producing some relieved smiles.
They left and went to the guest palace.
On the way, they saw the Heavenshade brother and sister training. The latter seemed unwilling to leave yet, and they all knew why, but they didn't bother, as it wasn't good for them to intervene and rile up a wounded heart for no reason.
Julaine and the four others of the Abandoned Immortal Lower Realm were also here. Myria and a lot of them had visited Julaine in their free time in order to learn from them. These disciples from those ancient sects were highly knowledgeable.
There were also a few other guests staying here who were open to engaging in a peaceful discussion and exchange with them. They were skill in formations, alchemy, and many other occupations. They were mostly invited here by Niera and Dewzai, or the children who noticed them in the merchant town.
The Davis Family hoped to gain all they could in this decade, so they weren't being highly isolated. Tia, Bylai, and Melluca were keeping an eye on them, so no one was worried that these guests would start doing something strange.
Evelynn and the others eventually made it to the guest palace and met the luxuriously dressed woman who was clad in a jade-green robe. Her crimson hair fell in cascades, complementing her noble demeanor. Her slender, arched brows formed an enchanting pair of almond-shaped golden eyes.
Once she caught sight of them, she stood up from the couch and bowed.
"Jiayi Crystalveil greets respected patrons."
However, Jiayi Crystalveil's heart dropped. Before, she had to deal with only Evelynn and Shirley or someone else who accompanied her, but this time, four of them came, each one powerful than the last.
For a moment, she wondered if she was going to be trapped and killed for the resources she had accumulated in the past year with her own strength and the help of the Davis Family.
'Could it be that they were nurturing me to devour me…?' This thought gave her a heart attack, making her full of apprehension.
She wouldn't have guessed that, with how kindly they made deals with her, they would want to swallow her whole right now because of their disregard for Primarch Grade resources. After all, she was aware they had too many!
Evelynn also returned the greeting before she took her seat along with the others.
Bylai kept standing beside them, further making Jiayi Crystalveil dread the situation. However, Bylai was just giving respect to her big sisters, not wanting to sit in the same seat in front of outsiders. She shook her head even when Isabella invited her.
Isabella wryly smiled while Evelynn started to speak, "Spare the formalities. Is this the last transaction we would have here in the secret realm?"
"Yes," Jiayi Crystalveil nodded.
She sat back in her seat, slightly more reassured that they didn't have such a nefarious thought, "Everyone, as I have sent news before, the secret realm is closing. We need to move all the personnel and resources back to the Upper Realms now, since the journey is long and would be fraught with dangers. We can't afford to move at the last moment lest we be stuck here forever. Therefore, I advise you all to return or seek a new place in the upper realms."
"My subordinates have also found a few undiscovered entrances leading to the Upper and Greater Realms. We have investigated the other sides and found them to be abandoned regions or filled with wildlife teeming with savage beasts. I have kept a tight leash on these locations, so if you believe my words, then consider this a gift to your family."
She took out a few maps and sent them flying towards them.
"Many thanks, fellow cultivator." Myria stood up and cupped her hands, bowing to show respect.
"It's nothing, it's nothing." Jiayi Crystalveil was taken aback by the sincerity.
She couldn't help but reveal a profound smile, "Truthfully, I also hope for your family to survive so our business relationship continues to extend. Our venture together has been highly profitable, and I'm only a step away from clenching the highest position in the True Peak Emporium designed for the younger generation."
"You have worked hard," Evelynn nodded, her expression easing towards her as she also knew it wasn't easy for Jiayi Crystalveil to bear the pressure.
After all, everyone knew she had been working with their family for the past two years since she had sold hundreds of Primarch Grade resources both her and in the Upper Realms. Countless people accused her of becoming a puppet to the evil Davis Family, but she had passed all the inspections from both Heaven's Warriors and her power.
The result was that she wasn't controlled and was doing this of her own volition.
Therefore, each time the True Peak Emporium set up an auction to sell these resources, it kicked up a wild storm.
Still, people named her the Demonic Merchant of Death or even shamed her that she had slept with the Divine Emperor of Death in order to be able to acquire all these resources from them. No matter what it was, she still moved forward without looking back.
Evelynn admired this aspect of hers but was also careful.
"It's a bit difficult." Isabella said with a light sigh, "We'll wait until the last moment since Davis isn't back yet, but we'll make our move to investigate these places so we can decide where to go. Thank you, we appreciate this gesture a lot."
Jiayi Crystalveil returned the pleasantry. She didn't comment on the Divine Emperor of Death's absence, knowing it was a sensitive topic to breach.
After discussing more matters, they exchanged Primarch Grade resources one last time while Jiayi Crystalveil also handed over a part of the profits. But before she left, she came to to crux of the issue.
"Due to the sudden change in this secret realm, we lack manpower to move them all safely, so we need your help in transporting this many resources."
"That's not a problem. Take Niera, Dewzai, and Bylai with you until the exit. After that, your True Peak Emporium can take care of it, right?"
"Indeed~" Jiayi Crystalveil seemed happy, yet she still maintained her professional and elegant demeanor, "Many thanks for your support. Jiayi Crystalveil promises to never forget this favor. After we leave, should your family need any assistance, no matter if it's a business relationship or anything else, please don't hesitate to contact me."
"We will." Evelynn nodded firmly.
With their exchange having gone smoothly, Jiayi Crystalveil thanked them once again and left.
Evelynn and the others also looked satisfied with the profits in their rings that they received.
"It seems like we must also relocate to one of these exits sooner or later. Send Nadia's doppelgangers to investigate these places." Evelynn gave the maps to Isabella, but narrowed her eyes as she brought her hand back.
"You're still grounded."
"I know, I know…" Isabella laughed lightly before accepting the items, turning around to leave.
"Don't forget to bring back Dalila forcefully if need be. She can be quite focused on alchemy and forget the surroundings nowadays."
"Understood." Isabella echoed before she disappeared, heading to the market town.
"Let's send our avatars with Nadia's doppelgangers just in case," Myria said.
"Mhm, I'm just thinking of who to send." Evelynn thought for a moment, looking thoughtful before she nodded, "Send Eterna and Azariel's avatars with one doppelganger and Celestia and Viridia's avatars with the other. They should gain more experience. Lucian is a Divergent, so his presence in the investigation entourage, in addition to Nadia might might lead to some trouble, so let him stay. Besides, Niera won't let him out of her sight, likely taking him along with her to transport the goods."
"Perfect." Myria nodded. She went outside to relay to them personally.
Evelynn was left alone since Bylai went along with Jiayi Crystalveil to oversee the transport.
Walking out of the guest palace, she turned to look at the thunderous skies, her lips curling with a hint of sorrow.
"Dear… when will you come back to us? At the very least... I hope you're still safe and sound."
