Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4824 Second Wave

Chapter 4824  Second Wave

Two figures stood at the edge of a palace, their gazes starkly looking into the distance even though there was no change on the horizon. Their eyes glowed strangely, their gaze penetrating layers upon layers of space to see the dark aura clouding the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy.

Their expressions carried a frown, half-curious, half-annoyed.

The Heavenly Realm Spatial Chess they played seemed to have been paused, one side glowing as it reminded the player to make a move. However, neither of the figures appeared to pay attention to it anymore.

"That seems quite dangerous." The True Dragon Monarch raised his hand and turned to look at the Celestial Transcendent with a faint smile, "You want to let us other Celestial Heaven Warriors inside your galaxy to deal with it?"

"If we weren't in war, sure." Celestial Transcendent had a frown, but hearing that made his lips curl.

"Don't be stubborn. This is more important than our petty racial spat."

"Oh? You recognize that what we're doing is petty? You didn't admit when I previously pointed it out."

"Brat, don't be sharp-tongued right now. Can't you sense that your galaxy is starting to be encompassed by the aura of desolation? What are you going to do? It can't be reversed once it has started, and it will inevitably shroud the other galaxies, pushing us into further desolation, marking the start of a Desolate Era. Heaven and energy will inevitably thin out. The Greater Realm will be the most affected, and as a result, even more wars will ensue for a battle over the left-out resources."

"Hmm." The Celestial Transcendent nodded but looked disinterested, "This is a strange situation where a tribulation kick-started the Desolate Era. We don't know how long it will last. Maybe it will end after his tribulation recedes or be limited to that particular realm alone, which I would not mind at all."

"Hmph!" The True Dragon Monarch harrumphed as before he drew his gaze away to the distant horizon, "As a Celestial Heaven's Warrior, you can't be this disingenuous about it."

"I don't know." The Celestial Transcendent shrugged, "Sometimes, I can't look at the internal problems of my body because there are external attacks falling on me."

"You brat." The True Dragon Monarch pointed at him, "If we start fighting amongst ourselves, the Greater Realms would shatter. Come out of the three layers, and I'll deal with you like the junior you are."

The Celestial Transcendent turned to look at him with a clueless look, "Senior, I'll excuse myself since I'll have to go visit a physician soon."

"Dammit. You're as shameless as ever. Hmph, go and get rid of that Anarchic Divergent. Neither of us can rest easy until this one disappears."

The Celestial Transcendent's gaze flickered. Even the True Dragon Monarch recognized the danger of this strange tribulation, even from this distance. Of course, part of it was because they possessed Celestial Seeds, which warned them of the threat something posed to the living universe.

But as supreme beings who ruled over their realms with incredible power, they really couldn't be bothered to deal with this Immortal Emperor Anarchic Divergent even if he became an Empyrean. They couldn't see him as a threat unless the Divergent entered the Exalt Stage.

"Hmm, I think we need a new title for this type of character. I'll call him… the Divine Emperor of Death, the first Desolate Divergent."

The Celestial Transcendent looked smug about naming the threat factor of Davis. He took a step forward, looking to leave, when he suddenly froze.

"This…"

"What?" The True Dragon Monarch looked at the Celestial Transcendent appear genuinely shocked.

It got him immensely curious.

At their level and age, there were not many things that could shock them to the core.

"That brat…" The Celestial Transcendent's eyes went wide, "His prowess is at least twenty-four levels higher?"

He asked himself in a doubting tone, not believing what his heavenly avatar had seen.

"Twenty-four? In the Immortal Emperor Stage?" The True Dragon Monarch frowned, "That's not possible unless he's using an external item like the Nether Divine Totem. Even a young Paragon Magical Beast can't reach that kind of prowess when they're growing up."

"No, the heavens would've known if he used something like that and retaliated in kind, since it is fair even if it is angry. The fact that it didn't means that he really is unrivaled in the same realm, far more than us."

The True Dragon Monarch didn't show any fear. Instead, his expression went thoughtful, "Sometimes, supreme geniuses are crushed under their own weight. It isn't strange for Divergents to die that way, too. Regardless, are you defeated then? Is the tribulation over?"

"I was defeated, but the tribulation isn't over. I was… a part of the first wave." The Celestial Transcendent said solemnly.

However, his voice cracked a bit as though he was embarrassed.

"You?" The True Dragon Monarch looked surprised, "Then who would end up descending to face him? Back then, before you were the Celestial Transcendent, the ones who faced the Anarchic Divergents who got past the twelve Paragon Magical Beasts for the human race were the…"

=========

A figure descended from the Desolate Heavenly Tribulation.

Nothing heralded his arrival as the tribulation clouds still calmly rumbled. There was no distortion of space nor the crackling of lightning.

A man clad in pristine white robes stepped out from the folds of space.

His movements were calm and deliberate, each step measured as if the world beneath his feet had already been weighed and understood. The desolate crimson negative-white lightning parted subtly around him, refusing to touch his form, while the purple-silver desolate spacetime rippled as ink disturbed by a steady brush stroke.

Evidently, he was able to keep the heavenly factors away from him temporarily.

Davis saw that this new tribulation striker was a young man.

His hair was long and pure white, flowing loosely behind him like snow drifting through an ancient library. His face was handsome, refined but not in the sharp, domineering way of martial experts, but in the quiet, dignified manner of a great scholar who had read through the rise and fall of countless eras.

An aura of immeasurable profundity radiated from him.

Davis felt a familiar wave of energy sweep through him.

*Gasp~*

Davis couldn't help but gasp in shock, "No way… Sky Word Emperor…?"

What he felt now was the profound sweep of Heart Intent!

The young man raised his hand and looked around, appearing quite shocked before his gaze fell on Davis. He leaned closer, his face turning doubtful.

"Young lad of my human race. Why are you so excited to see me when I have descended to eliminate you? Could it be that I'm still known around the three layers?"

His gestures and mannerisms were no different from those of an old geezer, but he was quite the charming young man.

"Elder!" Davis jumped before he cupped his hands, "I would dare say that there isn't a single soul in the human race who doesn't know about you. Even mortals speak the language you created!"

"Ha-ha-ha~" The Sky Word Emperor laughed jubilantly as he raised his hand and caressed his beard, but it wasn't there, causing him to blink before he chuckled, "Amusing. Your words make me feel gratified for the sacrifice I made. It's a pity that we have to meet this way. You don't have to be saddened."

"…"

Davis was indeed saddened.

Right now, he had so many things to discuss, even exchange pointers and then absorb information of Level Three Obscure Intent of Enigmatic Heart Laws, but he had no time. It was just like the first time he had met the Celestial Transcendent in his tribulation.

At least, at that time, the Celestial Transcendent was able to lengthen the tribulation and chat, but this time around, it seemed like it wouldn't be possible.

Regardless, he himself needed to end this quick or die.

With that decided, Davis didn't hesitate to move.

The Sky Word Emperor's lips moved as though he smiled.

Instantly, thousands of runes appeared in the air, carrying the aura of desolate lightning and desolate spacetime energy. They converged into the void and seeped into the space, causing the spiritual runes already hung there by Davis to be destroyed.

Davis's lips twitched.

The spirit formation trap he had set up to quickly end the next wave using Darkness Laws to suppress and restrict was destroyed easily. Besides, it seemed like the base prowess of the second wave appeared to be twenty-one levels higher, three levels higher than the first wave.

'Fucking heavens, if a monster like him who created the Sky Word Language is in the second wave, then who the hell descends in the third and final wave!?'

Davis inwardly screamed. He still had the confidence to finish his cultivation, but time was a necessary factor. If he couldn't complete it soon, then he would be finished regardless!

The next moment, he noticed something as he attacked the Sky Word Emperor, causing him to stop.

Beside Calypsea and Kronos, who were trembling like a leaf, there opened a purple-black portal.

From there emerged a familiar, dark-blue-robed figure.

Her aura was subdued under the Desolate Heavenly Tribulation, but her loyal eyes showed no fear as she looked up while her eyes bled.

"Master, your loyal subordinate Illumina Lunarisse has returned!"

She knelt and finally looked down, not bowing to the heavens but Davis.

"Now that I'm here, even the Venerable Knights can forget about harming you, for I am an Exalt Beast who has completed Core Refinement to become a True Exalt Beast and reached the layer limit of the Upper Realms! In human terms, I am comparable to an Alpha Exalt."

Her voice reverberated as she declared with the utmost faith in him, causing Davis to feel a chill that made him excited.

"Good!"

His voice boomed across the heaven and earth with exhilaration.

As Illumina raised her head to look at the tribulation clouds with squinted eyes to see the supreme figure of the one in her heart again, Vereina, Rokushi Mirai, and Azbel stepped out, finally followed by Nyoran as the portal closed- some of their subdued aura shimmering at the Exalt Stage.
