Chapter 4830 Stuck In A Calm Mood
Hearing this explosive news, Davis wanted to sleep so badly.
He felt like giving up and throwing the towel but he forcefully kept his eyes open, glaring at the Twelve-Winged Seraphim Ancestor.
Their lazy staring contest extended for what seemed like a long while, both trying a lot of methods to awaken first, some failing, and quite a few being given up halfway.
Davis couldn't help but hate the silence. Considering this was also an opportunity, he narrowed his eyes.
"By the way- do you see anything else on me or in me?"
The Twelve-Winged Seraphim raised his head sleepily, "You mean the Being of Original Sin?"
Davis's lips twitched.
So casual? Or was this the effect of the Overbearing Calm Technique?
"Uh, it's nothing." The Twelve-Winged Seraphim waved his hand as though he was drunk, "That Primordial Being- ever since he went against the heavens, he's trying to reincarnate only to fail miserably. I suppose it'd be the same this time. Besides, you don't even have his aura of hatred."
"Besides, I'm not particularly scared of the Primordial Beings. I've long surpassed them. If I saw him with my true body, I'd end him in one strike and sever his legacy from the Three-Layered Universe. It's a pity that he always hides when he dies off. Otherwise… sigh…"
"…" Davis's expression was not good.
He forcefully sat up and waved his hand, "Enough. You're telling all this to just make me lose hope."
The Twelve-Winged Seraphim's lips curled lightly, "Indeed, but it is the truth."
"…"
Davis inwardly clenched his teeth.
Monster! What a monster!
Davis nearly felt like the Sky Word Emperor and the Celestial Transcendent didn't hold a candle to him. And by the looks of it, the Twelve-Winged Seraphim Ancestor didn't seem to personally know the two of them.
It made Davis want to ask.
"Seraphim Ancestor, just how old are you for you to be treating Primordial Beings as an afterthought?"
"I'm not sure, but I'll tell you I'm way younger than them. I presume with the current information I got from the heavens and the fellow Celestial Seed called the Sky Word Emperor, I must be around a hundred to two hundred trillion years old. Sigh, it's indeed a long time since I visited home. I can still vaguely feel my true body, so I must be preoccupied with something or stuck somewhere to not have returned…"
The Twelve-Winged Seraphim Ancestor lowered his head as he went silent, his aura quivering with an attempt to break free.
"…"
Davis lay back again and turned around the other way before closing his eyes.
The Celestial Transcendent was around twenty to thirty billion years old, and the Sky Word Emperor was around fifty to seventy five billion years old as far as he could tell. There were countless accounts of history describing them in different eras, so it was hard to predict their real age.
Regardless, compared to this Seraphim Ancestor, the two human races' mighty experts were indeed children.
Compared to the firstborn Seraphim Race, the Human Race was nothing but a fledgling that had just awoken like a baby, blinking its eyes, trying to comprehend its environment.
It made Davis wonder if any human had managed to exit the Three-Layered Universe, but he still guessed that all those who reached a terrifying level in their cultivation had either died or left the Three-Layered Universe like the Twelve-Winged Seraphim Ancestor and the Paragon Magical Beast.
Davis barely managed to turn around while still lying on the starry surface and face the Twelve-Winged Seraphim Ancestor.
"I get it. You're insanely powerful, but I'm still going to win."
"What confidence for a livestock." The Twelve-Winged Seraphim Ancestor chuckled lightly, "Back in my era, humans weren't even cultivating. I really need to come back and see how the human race has grown, even managing to become Celestial Seeds and inventing a language that can move the forces of the heaven and earth like the Primordial Spirit Language."
"Hehe, you'd be surprised. We claimed a Seraphim Galaxy." Davis cackled in an attempt to anger him and disrupt his attempts.
"I'm not surprised." However, the Twelve-Winged Seraphim calmly shook his head, "We Seraphims are inherently lazy due to our innately powerful bodies. Our divine wheel manifestations alone overpower most lifeforms out there. Still, I bet there are no Twelve-Winged Seraphims in the current era."
Davis couldn't even bother to recall as he nodded, "I haven't heard of one."
"Well, even among Twelve-Winged Seraphims, I was special since I possessed a unique physique that allowed me to control the Five Elements. With that kind of base, I managed to learn many other terrifying Laws, including Chaos Laws. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that I know all Primary Laws and Greater Laws to a high degree."
The Twelve-Winged Seraphim bragged with a light-hearted one before clenching his teeth and grabbing the gourd again to drink.
He appeared to have trouble getting out of the calm and lazy state, even though he understood the intricacies himself.
"I see you're carrying much more burden than you seem to present yourself with. I assume you're still protecting the Three-Layered Universe from outside threats."
"Who knows? This spiritual imprint of mine only knows a few things outside the universe and cannot communicate with the true body other than send a beacon to make it return. Forget it- there's no use telling you this since you're going to die soon."
"I told you. I'll break free first." Davis said as his eyelids dropped.
His words weren't convincing at all, causing the Twelve-Winged Seraphim to grin lethargically.
"…"
The two of them stared at each other before Davis asked again.
"What do you know about the Being of Original Sin?"
"Why should I let you know?"
"This way, you can keep your Seraphim Galaxy from getting harmed by me since I'll owe you, no?" Davis raised his brows with a dubious expression.
"An interesting proposition for a dead person." The Twelve-Winged Seraphim smirked, "Creating karma between us is not my style, but I suppose you have already absorbed a lot of insights from our battle. Even my disciples didn't show this kind of attention when I taught them battle moves, much less teach them history recorded in the Heavenborne Archive."
"Keep talking. At least you will not sleep first." Davis sneered, not bothering anymore.
After what seemed to be an eternity, the Twelve-Winged Seraphim opened his mouth.
"Alright, I'll start with the Nine Primordial Souls."
Davis instantly turned to look at him with a smug look on his face.
The Twelve-Winged Seraphim looked away, his gaze distant as he also lay down with a heavy sigh.
"In the first moment, the Heavens birthed Virtue, a soul unstained by corruption. From it arose the Seraphim Race, beings of blinding purity and harmony. They were the first children of Heaven, immortal flames that served as guardians of the newborn universe. Their wings shielded the cosmos, and their voices carried the first songs that corresponded to different kinds of Laws."
"Regardless, the Being of Original Virtue's first incarnation was said to be a Seraphim."
"But virtue alone was still and lifeless, balance nowhere to be seen. The Heavens birthed the Second Primordial Soul- Being of Original Desire."
"With Desire breathed into existence, there was balance. Yet this soul could not endure its boundless yearnings. Unable to bear the countless desires spreading in different directions, it mutated into countless lifeforms and ended up splitting into twelve unique Mythical Paragon Magical Beasts."
"What?" Davis interjected, appearing slightly taken aback when his real reaction might be to jump up from his seat.
The Second Primordial Soul had split into the twelve Mythical Paragon Magical Beasts and further split into many magical beasts. This was different than what he heard about dragons and other top races breeding their way to the apex.
The Twelve-Winged Seraphim Ancestor laughed ever so lightly, reminiscing of the golden days.
"Knowing that the universe was without knowledge and lacked direction, the Heavens carved a soul containing Laws and concepts of the universe. The Being of Original Law was created, and thus were born the Spirit Race.
