Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4850 Forces Of The Heavenly Blight Hall

Chapter 4850  Forces Of The Heavenly Blight Hall

Somewhere in the Saffron Harmony Upper Realm, near an area where a prominent portal to the secret realm was present-

In a city, the streets in a certain district were emptied in seconds.

It wasn't because people feared the silence but because life itself was being peeled away.

A black-robed man stood in the center of a plaza, his robe unmoving as though the wind didn't dare touch him. Thousands of people collapsed without screams. Shadows stretched, twisted, and then tore free from their bodies, flowing towards him like obedient hounds, growing cold and hollow.

Across the square, powerful undulations spread from the skies, emerging below.

Golden light rolled off his body in steady waves, the Gold Laws manifesting as layered pressure that crushed and cracked stone into powder, reverberating across the city. His saffron-gold robe fluttered, blue hair tied back, sharp eyes narrowing as he took in the corpses that were not yet corpses.

"Second Dark Apostle, Tiaozen- you vile demon." Venerable Knight Aldric said, his voice calm yet authoritative, "You block my path and then leave to hunt innocent civilians? Your entire Heavenly Blight Hall must be brought down and crushed to ruins."

The Second Dark Apostle chuckled coldly, "You, Heaven's Warriors, harassed me first. I'm merely repaying the debt and making sure to destroy all that you want to protect."

The shadow around him moved as another pulse went out, draining more lives in the form of shadows.

The bodies did not even fall this time. They simply emptied, skin graying, eyes dimming as their vitality ripped free and poured into Second Dark Apostle Tiaozen's form. His shadow thickened, swelling behind him into a towering wraith silhouette. His aura climbed sharply, leaping to a frightening high peak that hit the normal layer limit.

Venerable Knight Aldric's brows squinted with killing intent.

His Golden Vajra Peak Body was fully awakened.

"A ghost is too afraid to fade, a demon is too afraid to be crushed."

A mountainous presence slammed outward, invisible yet absolute. The ground buckled in concentric rings around Venerable Knight Aldric's feet. Golden runes surfaced along his arms and spine, each one carrying the authority of immovable mass.

Second Dark Apostle Tiaozen vanished from his position, reappearing behind the Venerable Knight.

He was fast, incredibly fast, the tip of his fingers turning into deadly sharp claws that swiped towards the Venerable Knight's neck, intending to behead him in one fell swoop. However, the moment his claws cut the neck, only sparks appeared as though he scratched an unbreakable metal.

Venerable Knight Aldric waved his hand, slapping Second Dark Apostle Tiaozen.

However, the shadow burst apart, and the Second Dark Apostle reformed several kilometers away, his form flickering.

His lips curled into a demonic smile, coldly smiling before he disappeared again, carrying out a slaughter that made Venerable Knight Aldric roar and chase.

==========

A similar yet different scene was playing out in another city. It burned before it understood why.

Flames were not yet present, but panic already was. Buildings cracked as pressure rippled through streets, people fleeing as two identical figures stood atop a shattered watchtower, hands folded behind their backs like spectators awaiting a play's climax.

"His aura is approaching," One of them said calmly, "Do not rush."

Beside him, a feminine-looking man smiled, tilting his head as his long hair swayed. "Why would we? The city will hold him here for us."

They moved together, their powers resonating and latching onto beings.

Curses spread through the streets like veins swelling. Walls blackened with accursed sigils, civilians collapsing as hostile pressure weighed down their lungs. These two did not kill immediately. They let fear linger, let suffering stretch, weaving it into an invisible net meant to bind one man's steps.

Abruptly, the heat swelled through the city.

A roar tore through the avenue as crimson fire stormed across rooftops. The air ignited, and windows shattered outward as a figure strode through the inferno.

Red hair flared like a lion's mane, mustache sharp beneath a grim expression. Fire Laws rolled off him in crushing waves, burning curses into nothing before they could touch his skin. His presence alone stabilized the area, causing numerous people to heave a sigh of relief.

Venerable Knight Foredawn arrived.

However, he didn't make a move immediately, knowing these clowns had cursed the citizens and that if he killed them, the citizens would also die. It was fine if he could make them die once and for all, but they don't.

Some kind of karmic artifact was shielding his attacks.

He knew these were their avatars, and many more were in many cities, so he was forced to head to all of them to deal with them. The most infuriating thing was that these two destroyed the portal that should've taken him to the Nether Dimension, so he had no choice but to remain here and deal with them instead of going to deal with the Divine Emperor of Death.

If this weren't a city full of life, he would've razed everything to the ground from rage alone.

"This ends now…"

Venerable Knight Foredawn growled, "You mere Level One Supreme Primarchs are not worthy enough to face me in battle."

"Sure," Halbren chucked, "Do not try to scorch everyone, though. Your name as a Venerable Knight would take a hit."

"Leave some gorgeous women for me~" Hallen echoed with a sweet voice.

Venerable Knight Foredawn advanced.

Each step ignited the ground beneath him into controlled infernos, burning paths through curse-laden streets. He struck Halbren first, a flaming elbow crashing into his chest. The impact detonated like a collapsing star, sending Halbren skidding through three buildings, curses unraveling violently.

Hallen screamed in delight and retaliated, twin blades of accursed light carving toward Venerable Knight Foredawn's throat.

He caught them barehanded.

"This ends now," Venerable Knight Foredawn said.

Crimson fire gathered behind him, forming a massive burning rune that dwarfed the city square. The pressure forced both twins to retreat, curses flickering as civilians were blown clear by the controlled shockwave.

Halbren steadied himself, blood dripping from his mouth.

Hallen wiped soot from his cheek, smile fading.

If the Venerable Knight wasn't holding back greatly, they would be killed quickly, but that was why they chose the cities. It was always useful against Heaven's Warriors. As long as their true bodies weren't here, the Heaven's Warriors would never go overboard.

Still, they exchanged glances, knowing that their avatars can't take a beating anymore due to the karmic defense constraints.

"This is enough," Halbren said quietly.

"For now," Hallen added softly.

The twins dissolved into shadow, curses collapsing as their presence vanished. Fires died down under Venerable Knight Foredawn's control, leaving scorched streets and shaken survivors.

It almost seemed like he made much more of a destruction than the Third Dark Apostle and the Fourth Dark Apostle.

He stood alone amidst smoke and embers, fists clenched, gaze hard.

"It was obvious that they were trying to make me stay…" Flames flickered around him like a restrained beast as he turned toward the horizon, knowing the Dark Apostles had succeeded in one thing.

"In that case, what happens to the Divine Emperor of Death?"

He couldn't help but shudder, fearing that their plans could have been sabotaged, and none of the Venerable Knights had made it.

=========

Far away from the edge of the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm into the mainland, the region was quiet in a way that felt wrong.

Mist rolled endlessly beneath fractured skies, the boundary between realm and space trembling as though it was going to break.

Venerable Knight Damien stood closest to the edge, ocean-blue light coiling around him in steady tides, while Venerable Knight Renard lingered half a step behind, eyes half-lidded, listening to vibrations no one else could hear.

The world was still as a ripple-less lake.

It was not frozen nor muted but eerily soundless as though the nature of the world was denied.

A black-robed woman with a faceless mask stood in the air.

Her robe was pale and unadorned, etched only with faint runes that didn't glow. Her presence felt light, almost absent, as though she was a ghost, yet the air around her coiled as though it was repulsed by her.

Contrary to her unperturbed stature, the two Venerable Knights held their chests, appearing wounded.

They sent voice transmissions to each other.

"Is this woman the one?" Venerable Knight Renard asked, his voice heavy.

Despite being an Alpha Exalt, she was playing with them. An Anarchic Divergent this powerful was incredulous.

"Yes, this is that woman, the one who facilitated the Heavenly Blight Hall's survival in the last battle millions of years ago. She has earned multiple titles in disguises before she entered the Heavenly Blight Hall- the Witch of Abolition, Runemaster of Negation, and currently, the Apostle of Nullification."

Venerable Knight Damien answered, his voice weak yet full of ardor as he knew that if he could kill the First Apostle of the Heavenly Blight Hall, then being delayed from reaching the Divine Emperor of Death would be worth it!

"Want to stop me from saving our newest Dark Apostle?"

The First Dark Apostle's lips moved, her voice alone causing the heaven and earth to tremble. She brought her hand towards the space before her, causing a silver rune to etch itself into space.

"Then offer up your lives in exchange."

Space stopped working, freezing them in their tracks. Their energies that surged- inevitably disappeared as though they were crushed. A terrifying sense of danger enveloped them, prompting them to try to break through with all their might.
