Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4880 Qiyra Darkstar Turns Hostile?

Chapter 4880  Qiyra Darkstar Turns Hostile?

Davis wasn't really surprised that Qiyra Darkstar would say no.

Even for some assassin organizations, he learned that some families were taboo from G'haren Bloodrain's memories. It was either because they were secretly allied or because they couldn't afford to offend such a family, and amongst the assassins of the Upper Realms, it was a common consensus that they should not target anyone closely related to a True Deity.

The close relations of Realm Masters were taboo.

Even if some assassins take it as a challenge and do it, hide in the Upper Realms, the chances that they would survive are less, since an inter-realm hunt would take place. In this regard, Realm Masters of allied or even worse relations would choose to support the victimized Realm Master over the assassin or the assassin organization hiding in their realm.

Hence, it became an unspoken rule- do not target the family members and close relatives of such big characters.

Then- who in their right mind would target the Celestial Transcendent's beloved granddaughter?

Not even the World's End Hall might accept that mission unless they had a death wish. Even if they could not be completely destroyed, they would be thoroughly suppressed into becoming a declining power, unable to see the light of day, and called an ancient power reawakening millions or billions of years later.

Qiyra Darkstar narrowed her eyes, glaring at him.

"I heard you faced the Celestial Transcendent in your tribulations. I do not know what you garnered from his character, but let me tell you this- there is not a single evil or righteous person who is not afraid of him. Perhaps you might've only seen his gentle side, as all beings know, but when he raised the banner and conquered this galaxy back then, he was an indomitable war god. I have read the stories that have been erased- or rather, not in circulation because he wanted peace across the realms, not bloodshed and violence."

"…" Davis blinked. He already knew the Celestial Transcendent was a war god. He couldn't defeat him the first time they had battled, being completely toppled in terms of martial skills.

Even now, he didn't think he could compare in the quality of the techniques except for prowess.

He was young and still had a long way to go.

Qiyra Darkstar clenched her fists, her narrowed eyes casting a disappointed gaze.

"Junior, I thought of not advising you since you more or less proved yourself to be an incredible cultivator than anyone I've ever seen, but this time, I'll have to stop you, even if you want to go kidnap the Celestial Transcendent's blood relative. I, or my master, and my fellow disciples would want no part in your craziness. If you say otherwise, I'll leave you here and cut off ties forcefully and recommend my master to do the same."

'Whoa, I never knew Fairy Qiyra could talk so much…'

Davis still looked calm. His lips curled as he adjusted his robe over the neck, "What if I said that I already offended the said blood relative?"

Qiyra Darkstar's eyes went wide, her aura surging ever so lightly.

"I- told- you- not to- wander around."

"What did you do…?"

She asked with wide, threatening eyes, causing Illumina to step in between. Illumina's nails elongated lightly and sharpened. At this distance, she was confident in severing Qiyra Darkstar's neck, her gaze also full of threatening.

However, she was suddenly pulled back.

Davis walked past Illumina, his eyes locking with Qiyra Darkstar as he still kept his smile.

"I didn't think Fairy Qiyra Darkstar would be this afraid, and I'm not provoking you when I say this."

Qiyra Darkstar didn't look offended, "This isn't a small matter. There are many powers that have gone extinct because they tried to kidnap the Celestial Transcendent's family members. You are not the first to try it and not the last to think about it, as you would just become another casualty. Don't provoke an apex divinity. Just like we have our methods to bypass certain limits, they also have their methods. They'll be willing to lose a part of themselves if that's what it takes to kill you when they're wrathful."

Davis raised his hands in surrender, "Alright, alright, I know I'll die easily, but hear me out and make your decision."

Qiyra Darkstar frowned, her brows squinting. She remained silent for a while before she said.

"Speak."

Davis nodded and then told her the events that took place here, even going as far as to reveal his Karmic Impersonation ability and Deadbloom Art: Crimson Redemption Technique.

Qiyra Darkstar's gaze grew colder as she heard of his abilities.

It seemed like he learned of it from a Realm Calamity called the Blood Realm Calamity.

"There you have it- I only intended to deal with this character called Fairy Retribution because she was harassing my merchant Jiayi Crystalveil, but then, when I had access to her memories from just trying to have a good fight, I came to know that I just didn't harm a grand character but the Celestial Transcendent's eighth granddaughter."

"I presume she's from a conservative environment, so her Guardian Elder would definitely report this incident to the Celestial Transcendent even if Anastasia herself wants to suppress it, and I know for sure he will investigate this matter himself with his clones because that's just the kind of person he is. I don't think my impersonation technique can escape his perception if he investigates thoroughly and my name will definitely come up since the Guardian Elder already saw me but thought I was fake. Needless to say, since you saved me and brought me here, you are also an accomplice."

Davis paused, sensing killing intent, but he continued, "Normally, I couldn't be bothered to go out of my way to offend the Celestial Transcendent until we could no longer live under the same sky, but you tell me if I have some chance to survive if I just leave like this. If I die, the next would be you who brought me here, or who knows, you might already be taken out first. I revealed everything because I know I dragged you into this, and I'm extremely apologetic for it, but no amount of words will let us get out of this unharmed, so I say- we do something about it. I'm all ears if you have any idea."

"…"

Qiyra Darkstar's gaze was beyond cold at this point. She looked at him like he was a dead person, but Davis only kept smiling, knowing all the fault was with him.

He was thoroughly shameless, since at this point any junior would be kneeling and begging for his life.

Qiyra Darkstar slowly raised her clenched fist before she waved her hand. Soundlessly, a part of the mountain had been sliced, but it didn't move, staying and holding in place. She turned around and walked away.

"I'm leaving."

"…"

Davis didn't say anything. He knew she still needed to restore her astral, whatever it was, to leave, so there was enough time to reconsider. Besides, she still had Nadia and the others within her astral ring.

He knew she was basically taking them hostage in case he were to try something funny.

She was totally cautious around him, and he respected it. Otherwise, it would've been very difficult for her to survive, considering she was the first disciple of Saintess Lunaria who made it here.

However, he saw that she didn't sit to meditate. Instead, she looked at the distant horizon, her emotions unknown.
