Chapter 4927 Huge Imperial Garden
The Imperial Garden stretched far beyond what the word 'garden' could possibly contain. It was not merely a landscape structure attached to a mansion or a courtyard but an entire city. It was a spatial world built with the walls, a pocket realm Stella devised and supported by numerous energy-gathering formations.
The soul was completely overhauled with spirit soil of various nature and underneath ran lines of dragon veins of different elemental natures. Moreover, the soil itself was dark and rich, layered with crushed immortal crystals and refined spirit water. The pathways were carved from white polished jade that faintly reflected the sky. Even the breeze carried layered attributes, cycling through the five elements, darkness, light, wind, and lightning in controlled harmony.
Massive spirit trees and plants grew in careful formation and well-designed rows, providing resources of Immortal King Grade, Immortal Emperor Grade, and even Empyrean Grade resources.
There were also flowerbeds that enhanced the area's aesthetics. Each flowerbed even had its own micro-climate.
One section bloomed with scarlet sun orchids that absorbed fire-attributed essence from the atmosphere. Another glowed faintly blue with frost lilies whose stamens condensed strands of ice law. There were patches of golden stargrass that responded to heavenly fluctuations, bending not to wind but to karmic tides, capable of reacting to heavenly phenomena. There were also vines that shimmered with illusion energy, their blossoms changing color depending on the observer's mood.
The children slowed their steps as they entered deeper into the garden. Even they could sense the density here. For cultivators at their level, simply breathing within this environment would accelerate foundation consolidation. The air carried a sweetness that was not overwhelming but nourishing, saturating their bodies with subtle vitality.
Even rare Law fragments drifted invisibly like pollen if one got close enough and was lucky enough to breathe it in before it could fade away. Occasionally, one of the children would pause near a tree or spirit herb, eyes widening as they recognized the grade of the resource before them.
The aesthetics weren't limited to flowerbeds alone.
There were small rivers running. Some were positioned beneath waterfall streams that descended from artificial cliffs carved from spirit granite brought back by Bylai. The water itself was not ordinary. It had been refined to carry gentle water attributes, cleansing impurities while strengthening the soil's growth. Mist rose from those falls and dispersed into the surrounding flora, feeding the garden in cycles that had clearly been nurtured with meticulous care.
As they walked, they reached a circular plaza with concentric rings of white and pale blue stone.
These stones were engraved with faint lines that formed a stabilizing formation, anchoring the surrounding resources so their energies would not clash. At the center of that plaza stood a single starlight willow tree. Its slender branches drooped gracefully, leaves shimmering like fragments of the night sky.
Whenever the wind brushed through, faint specks of light drifted down like slow-falling stars before dissolving into pure energy.
Around the plaza, flowerbeds curved in symmetrical arcs. Empyrean Grade blossoms grew there, their petals thick with condensed essence. A faint aura lingered in that space, not oppressive but relaxing. It was a place clearly meant for rest rather than harvesting.
Beneath the starlight willow tree, he spotted Everlight.
She was in her beast form, nine fluffy and extraordinarily beautiful viridian-white tails swaying ever so lightly. The golden tips of the tails were like flames, entrancing anyone who laid their eyes on it.
Everdream and Evergrace were sleeping on her, even drooling from how comfortable it was to sleep on their mother's warm fur. This sight alone overcame the awe Davis felt when he entered the newly renovated Imperial Garden.
Everlight lightly opened her eyes, her pupils gleaming, but she didn't move, afraid she would awaken the children. Instead, she looked over to the bench in one corner of the plaza.
Davis also followed her gaze.
There, he saw Eden sitting upon a jade bench. His posture was slightly hunched yet composed. His gaze was lowered as though he was lost in thought.
But he didn't seem to be alone.
Beside Eden sat Iesha.
Her white hair reflected the ambient light of the plaza, making her more dazzling than ever. Frost gathered lightly around her, but she kept it to a bare minimum consciously. However, Davis felt it was strange since she maintained a respectful distance from Eden.
The children slowed instinctively.
The elder brothers and sisters then told Class Two and Class Three to go play around without disturbing the ones who were resting here.
Davis watched Arc and Lydia leave, but he didn't say anything. It wasn't like he kept Lydia on house arrest since he had already confirmed her non-hostile way of living after half a day of being together with her and heavy probing in the beginning.
More than anything, she didn't take the other children as hostages and had no intention of doing so, so he was very satisfied with her performance so far.
"Father…"
While deep in thought, Davis felt a nudge from Azariel.
However, Davis remained standing, his gaze fixed upon the gap between Eden and Iesha. He came out of his reverie. His heart sank without end, his blood chilling. Yet, he remained calm, his gaze unmoving for some time before Azariel nudged him again.
"Father, what are you waiting for? Mother Natalya is waiting…"
Azariel pushed Davis to the front, hurrying him up.
His memories had been released by his mother just a while ago. He had witnessed Mother Natalya's death and her strange return, so he was extremely distressed, unable to forget it. Fortunately, his father was finally here, so he couldn't wait for everything to go back to how it was.
Davis appeared before Natalya as he nearly stumbled.
He smiled a bit before he opened his mouth, "Are you fine?"
Between Eden and Iesha, Natalya sat on the bench. She held their hands while wearing an indifferent look on her face.
In the distance, Evelynn, Mingzhi, Isabella, Shirley, and many other wives appeared, holding their breaths in anticipation and worry.
However, Natalya remained unresponsive for a few seconds, not even looking at Davis until Iesha nudged her through their soul pact.
"Natalya, our husband is here."
"Oh?" Natalya's voice echoed, partly indifferent and partly absent as though her mind wasn't in this place. She stood up with the help of Iesha, slightly bowing, "Greetings, husband. I heard that I was a part of the Davis Family, Davis Loret's second wife. I apologize if I'm rude, but I'm blind and deaf. It seems only my spirit, Iesha, can talk to me through soul transmission. I'm told I can't feel anything either, but I'm not sure what they are talking about. I have no memories, so I find it really hard to figure out what warmth is."
"…"
Davis pursed his lips, turning to look at Azariel as though he were lost.
"She's like this, having forgotten everything." Azariel whispered, "I know it hurts, but don't worry about it. Diagnose and cure her with your sacred life energy like you always do, fast."
Davis's expression was unchanging. He slightly nodded before turning to look at Viridia, beckoning her to come closer.
Viridia stood behind them. Once called, she quickly appeared by her father's side, willing to be of help. Seeing him grab her hand as though he wanted solace, she smiled, but her expression quickly faded when she heard his transmission.
"Repeat what Mother Natalya said to me without asking any questions."
"…"
Viridia felt a strange sensation swelling in her heart, mixed with a profound sense of loss and horror.
She bit her lips and repeated what Mother Natalya said using soul transmission.
