Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4949 Gathering Over

Chapter 4949  Gathering Over

Mingzhi saw Zenova leaving, wanting to follow her since it seemed interesting, but Davis informed her to keep an eye on Lydia since she seemed to become aware of them possessing Enigmatic Heart Laws.

She inwardly sighed, knowing this was bound to happen in a public setting.

Tia and Myria ascended to the platform, asking her some details which she shared.

Tia was admittedly embarrassed that she missed so many things, but she smiled brightly, knowing Davis would've saved Natalya.

"Heavenly Restriction Pact…" Myria uttered, trying to recall some details that she had forgotten due to karmic burden, but even as she tried, she could only remember the name and not any details.

She cast a look at Tia with some suspicion and admiration. This little girl from a backyard realm knew too many things.

"What happened to the prisoner?" Mingzhi asked, "Was the sealing and concealment a success?"

"Yes. He would be in stasis like the Candidates were once." Myria answered confidently.

"Great! That poor chap doesn't need to suffer after all that…" Mingzhi cheered before sighing lightly, "Sometimes, I can't help but wonder what if Davis had gotten trapped in the Elemental Dimension Secret Realm, so I feel some pity for him."

"Understandable." Tia nodded, "But this is also for our survival. It's not like we want to kill him."

"It all depends on Uncle Supreme." Myria said in a calm tone.

Tia and Mingzhi nodded.

Soon, Mingzhi bid them farewell after discussing a few more matters before she descended, mingling in the gathering when Ancestor Dian Alstreim came forward to her and apologized, saying he suspected that their conversation could've been heard by Little Lydia.

"Her soul is indeed powerful for her young age. I was able to feel a pricking sensation when she heard us and gazed at us. We must've scared her."

Mingzhi smiled lightly behind her black veil, "It's fine. They will learn faster than their elder siblings because we've arrived in the Upper Realm Space and need more force. Hopefully, your son Ace and Founder Alstreim Windstorm's grandson Ermin can lead the Alstreim Family better than ever in the future."

"Of course, I wouldn't expect any less from them."

Ancestor Dian Alstreim laughed.

Mingzhi took this pause to span her gaze in an attempt to locate Lydia amidst the crowd, but her gaze didn't stay on her as she also looked at the others.

Tanya was talking with Ancestor Tirea Snow nearby, wanting her to meet her master, Frostcloud Sword Empress, and greatly improve her ability.

Tina was discussing matters with her adoptive father, Brandis Mercer, and her little sister, Rina Roxley, who was going to get married to Edward, becoming his third wife. It seemed like a love marriage. Instead of leading the Loret Family, Edward had decided to setup the Edward Family under the Davis Family, so it could be considered a direct branch family of the Davis Family.

However, it wasn't official yet as Edward was focused on his cultivation.

Niera was with her father, Nero Alstreim, and her mother, Keira Alstreim, proudly repeating her achievements and recounting her journey in the secret realm. They were both horrified and excited since they had been stuck in a secret realm for centuries.

Lea was with Ancestor Cornelia and Klade. Shea was with her brother. Sophie was with her family. Lanqua and Panqa were with their sister, Zanqua, who looked disinterested, her gaze occasionally searching for him, as did many others.

They were here to see his magnificence, especially after the show of Will and authority.

"Please don't be offended." Ancestor Dian Alstreim's voice suddenly resounded, "Is it possible for our Ace to marry your family's prized first daughter Eterna?"

Mingzhi came out of her reverie and smiled as she looked at Ace and Eterna interacting freely in a corner.

"You like me?" Eterna blinked

"What do you think?" Ace Alstreim raised his brows.

Eterna took a sip from her glass and looked at him with a teasing gaze.

"If you become as strong as my father, I'll think about it."

"Why don't you tell me to scram instead?"

"Hehe~"

Ace Alstreim spread his hands, causing Eterna to giggle in amusement.

Mingzhi kept her smile before turning to look at Ancestor Dian Alstreim, "As far as I know, Ace is a good youngster. His cultivation is up to par, and his prowess makes him a supreme genius worthy of consideration. Moreover, his character has no flaws and is not engaged in any sort of corruptive behavior. He is naturally eligible, but matters of the heart should be left to the younger generation since the Davis Family doesn't want to push anyone into a political marriage."

Ancestor Dian Alstreim chuckled, "Haha, this isn't entirely political since Ace indeed does have his heart set on Eterna. Only her bright presence managed to make him steer clear of any women who tried to convince him otherwise. As his father, I could only support him."

"Of course, a parent should support their children. If any one of our children fancies someone from your or any other family, we will be in front of their doorstep, pitching a tent and waiting until they give us what we want."

"Hahaha! Who would dare not give? The children of the Davis Family all have good character, and none of them even had a bad rumor yet. It would be truly stupid of them not give unless they have some other issues."

"Who knows?" Mingzhi's gaze flickered, "We could've suppressed all rumors, so keep your ears wide and sensitive."

Ancestor Dian Alstreim didn't appear shaken, still smiling, "Well, I'd be damned considering everyone saw Azariel get grounded for just mingling with the Jadelight Clan's daughters."

"…" Azariel, from a distance, felt his ears twitch.

Did they really think people could not hear while they were talking this loudly?

However, he also cupped his hands and greeted people while declining many marriage offers, not wanting to get married since he had his family to take care of first, not knowing if they would even survive the next decade.

Lucian didn't even have to say anything since everyone now knew he would only marry one woman, who turned out to be a maid, and since he was known to be a Divergent, the offers were fewer compared to Azariel's.

Regardless, even Arc and the others of Class Two, who still hadn't had their Coming of Age Ceremony, were being courted.

Although they rejected all marriage offers, they didn't avoid accepting invitation offers to go see their families for a visit. As they had received political and diplomatic lessons, they also knew how to take care of state and family affairs, so as not let the other families feel overly humiliated by their repeated rejections of offers.

It would also widen their horizons, so there was no harm done this way.

Finally, the gathering got over at an excited yet slightly disappointed note since they hadn't gotten to see the Divine Emperor of Death. They felt as though he had transformed into a deity after the show of Will and authority, as it was unlike anything they had seen.

Arc took Lydia and Eden back to his house, but suddenly, near the stone steps, Lydia whispered to Eden, causing him to nod and go ahead while Lydia held his sleeves, appearing to tremble.

Eventually, the trembling stopped before she raised her head and looked at Arc tearfully.

"Big brother Arc, promise me you won't get mad. I have something I want to confess…"

"…?" Arc raised his brows confusedly before chuckling, "I know."

"You know!?" Lydia turned dumbfounded.

She never would've guessed, but his next answer made her heave a sigh of relief.

"It's about the cultivation manual, right? Did your mother tell you to secretly hand it over to me?"

"This…" Lydia pursed her lips.

The words hovering in her throat refused to come out, causing Arc to chuckle, "My little sister is indeed smart. Well, no matter the reason, since I'm benefiting from it greatly, let's not mind about the small matters or semantics. I'm not mad. Let's go. I'll show you my training results since mother claims to have gotten hold of a star map artifact that more or less accurately measures how far my perception climbs in the Three Layers!"

He grabbed her hand and pulled her up the stairs, causing Lydia to be dumbfounded before she hurriedly pulled him back, stopping him as her gaze turned horrified and her breathing panicked.

"No, no, no. It's not like what you think…"

"Then what is it?" Arc asked impatiently. Dealing with Lydia or any other child was testing his patience.

"I'm a reincarnator…!"

"A reincarnator? So what?" Arc harrumphed and took her up, but after two steps up the stone stairs, he froze.

"…"

Lydia's heart sank as she saw him slowly turn to look at her, his expression turning pale, and his eyes wide with alarm.
