Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5119 Wrapped And Gifted

Chapter 5119 Wrapped And Gifted

"Good." Saint Riyal Mendez nodded lightly.

"Hahaha, perfect." The Patriarch laughed out loud.

After that, everything was over within a blink of an eye.

Her mother personally prepared her. Her father even gave dowry to her to present to the Saint. The Patriarch congratulated, and her spent immense time convincing that it was all for the family and even if it was himself who needed to sacrifice for the family, he wouldn't hesitate.

He even personally allowed her to seek revenge against him when she became big in the future. He said he would accept this sin.

Jillian Hayden could only stare soundlessly. The light in her eyes had long snuffed out as she found everyone familiar to her incredibly unfamiliar.

By dawn, she was prepared and sent away.

A dark violet palanquin arrived at the courtyard, but she paid it no heed and walked into the Saint's palanquin like she was a prisoner and sat on the comfortable cushion that couldn't be any more uncomfortable to her.

After waiting for a while, Saint Riyal Mendez also entered.

As he moved the curtains and entered, he flashed a smile before sitting beside her.

Jillian Hayden couldn't help but gain distance from him.

Upon noticing this, Saint Riyal Mendez scoffed, "Don't flatter yourself. I'm not interested in a pure woman like you. That's why you're perfect for a maid who only needs to care about menial tasks."

"…"

Jillian Hayden went speechless, but she wasn't surprised.

Steward Belmont had already told her about the rumors of this monster. She bet her family more or less had an inkling of the rumors, but they acted like they couldn't wait to massage his legs that she almost wanted to ask her father if he had already sent her mother for a night if it weren't for the fact that her mother spent the night with her.

She didn't respond.

Her journey to the unknown destination continued until the palanquin came to a stop, stopping directly in front of a tall building.

She had no idea where this place was, but she didn't have the energy to look around either.

She kept her head lowered until she entered an ascending wooden platform and went up. Her expression froze when she saw Steward Belmont once the platform stopped and the doors opened.

For a moment, she thought the Saint was unexpectedly here to bring her justice.

However, when she turned to look at the Saint, she saw the evilest grin a man could ever make in his life, resembling that of a devil from the legends.

Her heart dropped into the abyss, causing her to take two steps backward.

"Haha! Bring her with me!"

Saint Riyal Mendez strutted forward as he ordered Steward Belmont and walked towards the City Lord's master room.

"No…"

The maids immediately gathered around her and pushed her all the way deeper and deeper into darkness.

Even though she had her cultivation unsealed, Jillian Hayden couldn't bring herself to put up an iota of resistance, for she knew her family was no different than hostage at this point. Every time she resisted, it was possible difficulties would befall them. She was walked all the way to the City Lord's master room before she was pushed inside.

"-where did that bring you? Back to me."

The City Lord grabbed her cheeks, pushing her into utter despair as he said those words with an evil smile on his face that seemed somewhat less sinister than the Saint's, for the Saint had instantly betrayed her, selling her out.

The City Lord then pushed her away rudely before walking towards the Saint, even putting his hand around his shoulder.

"Ah, brother. I truly didn't expect you to bring the feast that was robbed from me back to me. However, would you be fine? You should know that-"

"I'm aware. Venerable Knight Lussandra, right? Heh!"

Saint Riyal Mendez scoffed, "Just a fanatical Heaven's Warrior who is bound by rules and propriety. She had the audacity to steal what rightfully belonged to my brother. As soon as I heard it, I turned my carriage around and went to the Hayden Family to bring her back to you."

"What a good brother!"

The City Lord roared, "I, City Lord Kain, am truly impressed."

"No, go ask the Steward. He will lead you to what you're looking for."

"Good brother."

Saint Riyal Mendez laughed before turning around to leave as though he couldn't wait to go see the First Madam.

Jillian Hayden was shaking in fear, but she noticed City Lord Kain's hand within his sleeves count from three to one as the fingers closed one by one when a ripping sound suddenly echoed.

*Rip!~*

An arrow tore through the barrier and landed right beside the Saint's leg, causing him to jump and roar.

"Who!?"

"Courting death!"

A figure flew through the hole in the barrier and landed on the balcony.

It was none other than Venerable Knight Lussandra.

She arrived beside Jillian Hayden and pointed her arrow at the Saint in close range, her killing intent let loose. Even as a soul body, she seemed to be completely capable of destroying them.

Saint Riyal Mendez's scalp had turned numb with fright, but he laughed.

"You dare commit a crime in broad daylight?"

"What crime? You kidnapped the Hayden Family's Young Mistress and brought her here. What other truth is there?"

"Hahaha!"

The Saint burst out laughing despite the immense pressure threatening to kill him. Numerous treasures on his body began rumbling as though they would activate any moment.

Venerable Knight Lussandra noticed something amiss. She turned to look at City Lord Kain, who shook his head as though he was looking at a pitiful woman.

"The Saint didn't do much. He just went to the Hayden Family, and they were glad to gift her to him as a maid, and now he brought her here. Tell me, O'Venerable Knight. Do you want to interfere in the internal affairs of a family and forcefully bring away the Hayden Family's Young Mistress?"

"…"

Venerable Knight Lussandra's expression remained cold, but her eyes wavered.

She kept pointing the arrow at them, but suddenly, a figure walked in front of her and stood before her, her head bowed.

"Venerable Knight Lussandra, I want to thank you for all the help that you have given me. I won't ever forget this gratitude. I will remember it forever. However, my family has decided I'm better used by the Saint, so please don't interfere anymore."

She bowed deeply as she knelt and practically fell on Venerable Knight Lussandra's foot, causing her to reel back.

Her expression quivered as her gaze changed numerous times.

When she raised her head, she glared at the Saint and City Lord Kain, the glint in her eyes revealing a never-before-seen hatred.

"Good, very good. You two just wait."

Venerable Knight Lussandra dispelled her bow and turned around to leave.

However, a furious voice suddenly echoed.

"Coward!" City Lord Davis roared, "You can't even save a woman who needs help so badly! How can you capture and kill the calamity, the Divine Emperor of Death, like this!? That's why you failed to kill that calamity that day! You're a failure! You're a disgrace to the Heaven's Warriors!"

Venerable Knight Lussandra momentarily stopped before her wings unfurled and she flew away.

"Cowardly Warrior! Come back here if you dare. Let's see if you can take her away from the Saint and me! Especially the Saint!"

City Lord Davis roared.

He glared at her with hate. He wasn't disappointed by her actions.

He wanted to harm her. Hence, even if she made the move to save Jillian Hayden, he would've still twisted the actions, words and shamed her.

On the other hand, even the Saint got cold feet at how his new brother kept challenging the Venerable Knight to a battle.

"Brother, that's enough… enough…" He dryly laughed, unable to believe the audacity of his brother and even using him as a backing as well as a shield.

"Hmph!" City Lord Davis harrumphed, "She has the gall to break into the manor twice. I'm afraid she isn't a simple Heaven's Warrior who follows the rules."

The Saint sighed, "These flies are running around me because they want to use me and my people as bait to capture the Divine Emperor of Death. They think I'm not aware, but I'm not stupid. In any case, don't worry, brother. Heh, I doubt the Divine Emperor of Death's even here considering he would prefer to be holed up with his wives and cultivate until he reaches the apex."

"Oh? The Saint seems to know about the Divine Emperor of Death?"

"I have met him a few times back in that Anarchic Divergent's world. He could be considered very protective of his family. Tsk, his wives are… sigh… one can only wish to court such timeless beauties in their dreams. After all, his Heart Intent… he would know what I'm thinking before I'm even forming any thoughts."

"What?" City Lord Davis said smilingly, worms of rage nearly appearing on his forehead.

"Oh, nothing." Saint Riyal Mendez chuckled, "Anyway, I'm very sorry, brother. I can't go meet the First Madam now. I need to go to my entourage before that wench does something strange like bringing a martial court order for my arrest. You should be careful too. I'll see you later."

"Oh, understood. I'll be careful."

"If you can serve him well, the Hayden Family will prosper." The Saint pointed at Jillian Hayden smilingly before leaving with the same devious smile.

City Lord Davis watched him leave before he turned to look at Jillian Hayden.

Her back straightened in fear, but he simply ignored her and went back to the bed, taking out a few scrolls before he began studying what seemed to be a roach movement art…?

Jillian Hayden's shuddered.

He couldn't be planning to crawl all over her on the bed, right?
