Chapter 5322: Fallen Sick
Davis’s avatar had arrived at the location where Saintess Lunaria’s disciples were staying.
He met with Karyot at the entrance, who didn’t allow him to enter.
"I mean- It’s been an entire day. The tension has left their body after you came back home, which is the same as declaring that the Celestial Transcendent and the others couldn’t find us anymore. Hence, they are resting right now. I don’t know what they are doing, but I can’t let you catch them in case they are taking a relaxing bath in the hot springs, can I?" Karyot raised his brows with a shady smile.
"Hehem~"
Davis coughed, "In that case, I’ll come another time."
"Thanks for understanding." Karyot cupped his hands.
"Brother Karyot, you have also given us great aid. If you have any requests, feel free to-"
"Aye, don’t mention it." Karyot waved his hand, "I didn’t even get any action after you guys left, and I’m happy to help as long as the opportunity arises. But seriously- just how did you become this powerful in a short amount of time? I think you’ll pierce a hole in the heavens at this rate."
"Haha, I can only wish."
Davis laughed before cupping his hands again.
Just as he turned around and was about to leave, he hesitated a bit, wanting to ask about Wix Voidfield.
If these people were really leaving soon, then he wouldn’t be able to see the Void Dust Empress. Their last amorous encounter was still fresh in his mind, leaving him a bit confused, yet this mature tree seemed to have no problem living like this for an eternity.
In the end, he decided against confronting it since he was here as an avatar and not with the main body.
Abruptly, a melodious yet urgent voice echoed from behind, from the palace.
"This is bad. Senior sister Qiyra has fallen sick."
"Hmm?"
Davis turned to look back at Fairy Wix descending.
She gazed at him as though looking for his help.
"What? How can that be?" Karyot jumped, looking dumbfounded, "With senior sister’s cold gaze and otherworldly killing intent, she was about to kill me when I asked if she could gift me the World Hegemon Grade resource, and now she’s sick? Can Omega Exalts even get sick?"
His tone was full of disbelief, as though he had never gotten sick in his life.
"I don’t know." Fairy Wix shook her head softly, "She’s burning as though she got a fever, and the pills she took had failed to soothe her symptoms. She fainted while chatting with us in the hot springs, so we hurriedly dressed her up and moved her to her chambers."
"Let me check."
Davis suggested with narrowed eyes, and Fairy Wix nodded solemnly.
The two of them strode forward, and Karyot followed them.
Davis shortly arrived in the chamber after passing by Jaiyan, who stood outside.
On the large wooden bed lay Fairy Qiyra Darkstar, surrounded by Laphria and Fairy Glacia Frigidveil.
Standing before her, Davis was momentarily unable to speak.
It was the first time he had seen her in a vulnerable position, leaving him a bit taken aback. He had never imagined an Omega Exalt like her could become vulnerable. His image of her was infallible and hard to approach, but that had shattered because she now had a pained expression on her face as she lay down on the bed.
"This... this is serious."
Davis turned to look at the two ladies, "What happened? Did the tame fire energy in the hot spring have some fire poison that interacted with her to cause this?"
"How can that be?" Laphria exclaimed softly, "Even if that was the case, how can it affect an Omega Exalt?"
"You all-"
Suddenly, Fairy Qiyra Darkstar spoke, her voice weak, "I told you... not to call him."
"We didn’t. He was at our doorstep and insisted that he come pay respects." Laphria said immediately, eyeing him.
"Yes, yes." Davis agreed immediately, "How can I not personally come over to pay my respects after the matter was over? I’m actually being rude here by sending a mere avatar. If I had known it would become like this, I wouldn’t have pushed Fairy Qiyra to her limits and might’ve looked for another escape method. It’s all my fault. I’ll help Fairy Qiyra see what the problem is so that it could be rectified."
"..."
Fairy Qiyra Darkstar sat up slowly. She gazed at Davis, her starry eyes dull. Her face appeared to be in pain, and she gasped weakly.
"I don’t need... your help. It’s my physique that’s acting up, which is suffering from a significant loss of astral essence. Given enough time, it will recover on its own."
"Senior sister is saying that, but we don’t know the true cause." Fairy Glacia Frigidveil said with an unamused smile, "Your physique can act up and harm all those around you, but if your body and soul become weak, it is a clear sign of collapse and also a road leading to death."
"..." Fairy Qiyra Darkstar didn’t say anything.
Everyone saw that she didn’t even have the energy to respond properly.
Davis pursed his lips, "Fairy Qiyra, I’m afraid we cannot leave this to chances. Although the threat is over, I cannot say if it will return again. You are the only person here who can help your fellow disciples escape successfully."
"..."
Fairy Qiyra gasped weakly.
She turned to Laphria, trembling, her lips pale. She tried to stand up as her aura rose, but then collapsed over Laphria’s arm.
"Hng..." She weakly whimpered as she pressed her abdomen as though she felt a surge of pain in there akin to a painful sting.
"This..." Laphria looked dumbfounded.
Davis immediately caught Fairy Qiyra’s wrist and checked her pulse, immediately stabbing a few of her acupoints across her body to unlock and pour in life energy. He gently placed his palm over her abdomen, sending huge amounts of life energy to her dantian.
The others held their breaths, finally understanding the gravity of the situation. This didn’t seem like a temporary flare anymore.
