Chapter 5361: Important Delivery
Azariel looked quite intrigued, as much as he was in disbelief.
He had been prepared to undergo all sorts of monstrous changes even if it meant he would become a savage-looking man. What’s that compared to the security of his family?
"Father, I don’t want to lose my dragon-arachnid bloodline if that’s possible. I admire Mother and want to follow the path she took when she absorbed the blood of the Evilbane Hexweaver Arachnid and Chaos Dragon, but unlike Noctis, Ragna and Styx who are undergoing the bloodline ritual of Mother Nadia who is passing them down the bloodline of the Deathhowl Revenant Wolf, I won’t be able to receive it from mother, nor do I have the nerve to shamelessly ask it from Mother Mira and Mother Hexena."
"Oye- why’d you include Hexena as mother there?"
Davis turned his head and shot a death stare at Azariel.
"It’s only a matter of time since Mother said she needed her." Azariel said as though it was a matter of course- like it was an afterthought, his expression still complex as he mulled over his own cultivation, "Anyway, it’s incredibly difficult to follow this path, so I was willing to take the one you choose for me."
"..."
Davis went silent for a few moments before he nodded, "I understand. I’ll talk to Empress Arachnid Hexena about it."
"The marriage?"
"Your cultivation." Davis nearly snarled as he said, smiling.
"Oh..." Azariel felt his cheeks warm as he felt a tinge of happiness and embarrassment, "Thank you, father, but really, you don’t need to. I know the bloodline magical beasts share with others is limited. The more we take, the less powerful they become and fall from grace. Until the essence they share or steal has perished, which means the death of their inheritors, they would never be able to regain it again unless they grow so much that the difference becomes negligible."
"True, but it isn’t the complete truth. Your Mother Shirley has taken the complete blood essence and truesoul of Fire Phoenix and Ice Phoenix, Flamerose and Frostrose. However, the World Master completely overturned it when she revived them and placed the karmic burden on herself. As a universe creator, she could birth essence from nothing."
"..." Azariel’s jaw dropped.
He looked speechless for a while before saying, "Still, that doesn’t mean father can do it."
"True again. I cannot regenerate another’s essence that is still in use by someone else unless I eliminate them. Otherwise, I can allow magical beasts to endlessly give out their blood essences with my healing prowess and life-attributed techniques, making it an endless source."
"That’d be ridiculous, haha." Azariel laughed lightly.
Davis smilingly shook his head, "Still, Empress Arachnid Hexena should be able to afford one more inheritor, whether it be you or Viridia. Look at Mother Nadia. She has shared her essence with her three children and me. That’s unbelievable. As long as I ask nicely, Empress Hexena Arachnid might give in."
Azariel looked speechless, "Father, you’re the Emperor. You cannot ask her, understand? How could she say no? She will think that her entire clan will be in jeopardy because of her and give in."
"Again, true."
Davis laughed lightly. He slapped his thighs and asked, "So what do you suggest I do then?"
"Let me deal with it myself."
"Good. I’ll shape your special avatar, and you take care of your true body. Let’s see who shapes a better Azariel."
"..."
Azariel stared even more speechlessly at his father, practically standing up and zooming in on his father’s face as his third eye stared wide like an evil eye.
"You think this is funny?" His expression was dark.
"..." Davis pursed his lips as he looked away, barely suppressing his trembling. His laughter threatened to explode.
Fortunately, he managed to calm himself and said solemnly, "No, this is not a game. If you don’t suppress your special avatar, the consequences will be severe when it detaches from your mind. Hence, you always need to stay together and never leave its side. Resonate and synchronize at all times. Do not lose the link for more than an hour. Usually, this wouldn’t be a problem for most avatars, but an avatar with a hydra bloodline is going to be fickle and perhaps even treacherous. You need to be careful. You-"
Davis went on a tangent as he kept advising Azariel.
The latter’s expression changed as he sat down, and eventually it turned as pale as a corpse.
There were so many caveats he didn’t know about when it came to keeping an avatar. But was this more of a problem than absorbing the hydra bloodline into his true body? It was likely not. After all, his mental affliction from the clash of bloodlines would either normalize and resolve all mental afflictions or totally take it to the extreme.
Considering a hydra’s reputation, he might not only become horny but also an aggressor who violates wantonly, and unlike a hydra, he would be a sinister and sadistic one, as the arachnid bloodline couldn’t be forgotten.
"You’re an Empyrean now. Are you still using Solitary Soul Avatar or created another variety avatar?"
"Still the same Solitary Soul Avatar." Azariel said quickly as he came out of his reverie.
Their family had many avatar techniques, but ninety percent were used as references, as they were all subpar by their standards. The only thing they were useful for was their uniqueness and the variations they provided the family, allowing them to research and create their own for their cultivation.
After all, once a cultivator entered the Empyrean Stage, avatar techniques need to be precise at an individual level, or they would fail. Usually, it could fit people who cultivated the same manual, but it might not help those who had different bloodlines and different physiques. One would need to make minor yet necessary adjustments to allow the avatar to bloom.
After a pause, Davis responded, "Alright, the soul essence from the Solitary Soul Avatar should be enough. Since it is a direct makeup of your soul, it should work well with what I’m about to provide."
"It’s enough? I mean, the avatar needs to have a body, no?"
The Solitary Soul Avatar was only a soul avatar and lacked a body like the Verdant Vitalis Avatar.
"Indeed. It’s taken care of, don’t worry."
"...?" Azariel had the urge to scratch his head but still nodded.
He supposed his father found him a suitable resource to build the body. Usually, it could be a Body Regeneration Pill for those who have lost their bodies and are only roaming around in their souls while possessing someone or a puppet vessel. However, he was unaware that the Solitary Soul Avatar could generate something like a body with a pill, could it?
"Nah."
Sensing his confusion, Davis said in a single word as he stood up.
Before Azariel could ask why, Davis continued.
"An important delivery is coming. What do you think it is?"
Davis’s sapphire eyes gleamed as he asked, causing Azariel’s heart to churn with expectations. He had heard about the feat before. Looking into the distance, the moment he caught sight of Fairy Glacia Frigidveil’s silhouette and his father’s true body, he knew he was right.
"The bloodsoul and truesoul essence of an Emperor-Tier Nine-Headed Hydra..."
Azariel clenched his fists as his body trembled in excitement and fear. Indeed, there was no way he could ever suppress such a bloodline with his current one, especially when it was an Exalt Grade Bloodline that was comparable to World Hegemon Grade, since this hydra was supposedly a Realm Master. Chances are that it would eventually overwhelm him even if he successfully managed to suppress it with Will and saved himself from becoming a savage beast.
