Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5372: Trading An Hydra?

Chapter 5372: Trading An Hydra?

In Stella’s sanctuary, two figures descended into a special zone known as the Magical Beast Dominion, an area exclusively controlled by the combined forces of twelve darkness magical beasts, although it seemed like one darkness magical beast nearly never visited because not only did she stay in the Davis Family nearly permanently, but she had also become the Divine Emperor of Death’s thirty-fourth wife and even got pregnant.

Right now, there was a festive atmosphere in this region.

But unlike what humans would consider festive, slaughter was involved: live hunting, magical beasts preying on feral beasts. Feral beasts were beasts that would be considered livestock by nearly every race because they lacked the thinking capacity of a human or a magical beast.

Their low blood purity causes their consciousness to be hazy, not to mention they were highly aggressive and territorial. Above all, they retain the traits of a wild magical beast - to eat, sleep, procreate. They fatten up and reproduce so much, so they were good livestock for any race to nurture.

The magical beasts were no different in how they treated them.

Standing above a palace, a Six-Headed Hydra in its full glory was overseeing the hunting grounds of its new subordinates consisting of many types of magical beasts. It didn’t join them, but merely oversaw as though trying to see through these subordinates’ hunting methods.

At this moment, the six heads all gazed up with narrowed eyes and a panicked heart. However, a wide smile spread across their faces as it grinned.

"Congratulations on conquering the blood of the Nine-Headed Hydra, Young Master Azariel. You are truly your father’s son."

Azariel and his avatar descended on Gralex’s crimson palace.

"Should I address you as Crown Prince from now on since the Davis Family has become an empire?"

"No need, senior. There’s still no Crown Prince position. Imperial Father has no intention to die." Azariel grinned.

"Hahaha!" Gralex laughed amusedly before he gestured to him and invited him inside the palace.

His figure flashed as he turned into a long, dark purple-haired man who was clad in a dark red robe. He had a perfect bearing and calmness except for the slanted eyes that appeared quite evil. Three horns crowned his head, and the aura of an emperor surrounded him, making him appear even more demonic.

However, Azariel’s avatar was far scarier; it made Gralex nearly sweat.

Gralex could sense Azariel’s avatar possessed the full bloodsoul and truesoul of an Emperor-Tier Nine-Headed Hydra, which he heard was a Peak Exalt Beast comparable to a Realm Beast. How could his little illusory variant Six-Headed Hydra Bloodline compare?

They finally arrived at the guest hall.

They entered and sat at a table, maids of exquisite nature rushing in to pour drinks and set out sumptuous dishes.

"Senior, you’re living quite the life here." Azariel said calmly.

"Is that bad?"

"As long as you don’t force anyone." Azariel chuckled before clinking drinks with Gralex, "I’ve come here since you agreed to give me your bloodsoul essence, but you can discard that. I won’t let my imperial father force you, so I’ve come here myself to ask you to lend me your bloodsoul essence. Just state your conditions freely."

"..."

Gralex took a sip of fine wine, swirling it a bit before he smirked, "Young Master Azariel, truth be told. I’ve already shared one-sixth of my soul essence with Fairy Vereina. Even if I become a Nine-Headed Hydra in the future, I magically won’t get all my souls back or have eight souls, since I guess at least two souls will be missing, leaving me with seven souls. The essence I sacrificed for Fairy Vereina comes down to fifteen percent, so if I give another fifteen percent, it will be like me being a hydra with six heads while being a Nine-Headed Hydra. Don’t you think this is too unfair?"

"Well, you will be compensated, but I’m going to the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm anyway. There are plenty of the Hexadra Clan idiots I can choose from to completely devour, but I’m here, trying to present you with the opportunity."

"If that’s what Young Master thinks, then it is better to do that. Completely devouring a Nine-Headed Hydra is better than digesting a small percentage of my essence."

"A pity." Azariel sighed gently as he kept the refreshment down on the table, "I need a magical beast bloodline partner who could grow with me, so I won’t be killing them. Imagine if the one I choose becomes a Paragon Magical Beast later on."

"...!"

Gralex clenched his teeth, nearly hooked, but he knew the son hadn’t shown yet how capable he was when it came to fulfilling promises on this level.

A Paragon Magical Beast?

Even if Azariel wanted to construct his palace on a dreamy mountain, shouldn’t he at least start from the foot instead of acting as if he sat on the peak?

If these words came from Davis, he might’ve quickly latched on, but his son?

It made him think thrice.

"Young Master Azariel, it isn’t nice to poach others’ meals."

Abruptly, a melodious voice echoed, interrupting their exchange.

Gralex’s cheeks twitched.

The calamity had arrived.

Vereina descended from the open dome, landing beside them.

She smilingly gazed at Azariel and Gralex before cupping her hands, "My apologies. I have come here to collect Emperor-Tier soul essence from Gralex as we had agreed upon before. I’m afraid he doesn’t have any soul essence to share and blood essence to spare. Otherwise, he’d be hard-pressed to cultivate, and lack the power to make the leap to becoming a Nine-Headed Hydra even with a useful resource."

Azariel didn’t turn to look at Vereina.

He swirled his cup calmly, then said in a soft, gentle tone, "Mother Vereina, won’t you let me have him?"

"..."

"Alright, you can have him."

Vereina didn’t last three seconds against Azariel’s tactics, leaving Gralex speechless as his jaw dropped in disbelief.

How could he be sold out by his captor-in-law just like that? Was there any fairness left in the world?
