Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5380: Intercepted By A Ghost

Chapter 5380: Intercepted By A Ghost

After discussing the remaining matters of the upcoming mission to Fairy Divinacia and Fairy Elma, Davis left.

He checked his life ring and saw that Frostrose was still asleep.

He wondered if he should awaken her using soul shock, which was quite rude, or let her come back to herself slowly. She was a magical beast. After ’eating’ her fill, she definitely needed rest. They tended to take longer naps, after all. As long as there’s no danger and they know that they are in safe hands, they wouldn’t bother waking up.

Davis scratched his head and decided against using soul shock.

He couldn’t give her a blow after she suffered a heavy blow.

He chose to return home instead, but at this moment, one of his many messaging talismans rang. His expression quivered because he knew that it was from Shirley.

’Yikes... she must’ve sensed Flamerose’s sorrow through her beast pact and investigated already...’

Davis gazed at the talisman stone, wondering if he should activate it or not. But while he was thinking, he activated it without much hesitation.

"Darling, what’s wrong with Flamerose? Did something happen between you and her?"

"Is Flamerose there with you?" Davis asked.

"No, she simply said your name and fled after cursing you. I couldn’t bear to chase her."

"..."

Davis knew it was time to come clean, but he wanted Frostrose to be awake first. He said softly, "It isn’t nothing, but it isn’t precarious either. It’s complicated, but once Frostrose is awake, I’ll let you know in front of your sisters."

"...Oh... so it’s like that."

"...?" Davis blinked, wondering if she already guessed, but he nodded, "I guess."

"Awesome~"

"Shirley?"

"You took too long!~"

The messaging talisman lost its glow as a hint of laughter could be heard from it.

"..."

Davis stared at the stone, appearing quite speechless. He put it back in his ring and let out a soft breath, feeling great to have Shirley’s support. He hadn’t checked her feelings on this front since he was also enjoying the mistress fever quite a bit, but in his mind, it was only a dating period before marriage. Frostrose wasn’t his first mistress anyway.

It was Natalya.

She had become his wife, and so will Frostrose sooner or later.

He just needed Frostrose to agree, but the task seemed more surmountable than most of the things he had accomplished. She was quite firm in wanting to be his mistress, which he actually found ridiculous.

Nonetheless, he felt a bit awkward to return home now since he would have to explain, but wouldn’t be able to explain until Frostrose woke up.

Therefore, he turned around and left.

He had two places in mind. One was his friends, and the other was the darkness beasts.

While speaking with Gralex regarding Azariel’s bloodline supplement for his true body, he had also promised Gralex a World Hegemon Grade resource should he dedicate half his life to Azariel, intending to give the Sixfold Hydra Marrow Pearl.

It was a resource that allowed a Six-Headed Hydra to become a variant Nine-Headed Hydra and also reach King-Tier at the same time, an extraordinary resource, but the chances were said to be less than ten percent. This resource should be extremely important to any hydra.

However, Gralex had declined this treasure and said he would choose to follow Azariel or not by himself.

Gralex was a prideful beast unlike Azbel and not even half as shameless as King, so Davis didn’t pressure him.

But like nearly all beasts, Gralex respected the strong, but that was up to Azariel to prove.

But regardless of the outcome, he did give his word to Gralex that he would help him become a King-Tier Nine-Headed Hydra later. In a similar way, he intended to evolve the other darkness beasts as well, mainly to test his own techniques if they were valid for the Grand Ancestral Beast Rank.

It should work, but he didn’t know if he was truly capable of it since Grand Ancestral Rank Magical Beasts tend to get closer to the source of the essence, which restricts them from climbing higher than their limit. He wouldn’t know if his evolution technique worked on all beasts in helping them return to the source. After all, in theory, it should even allow them to return to the Mythical Paragon Magical Beast species, but that shouldn’t be possible due to many restrictions.

He doubted even making them become Paragon Magical Beasts was possible. It wouldn’t be possible unless he improved his Karma Laws or became an Exalt, whichever was first since it was mutually exclusive.

But if he could evolve Everlight and learn from her newly advanced runes once again, his perspective might change.

Regardless, he was ninety-eight percent sure that he could allow magical beasts to enter Grand Ancestral Beast Rank, one percent accounting for flaws in the technique and the other percent due to factors he had no way of knowing.

As he neared the Magical Beast Dominion, he suddenly remembered the beautiful women and turned around. He felt like going to visit Drake, Fenren, Andiron, Soaren, and the others.

But soon after he reached Fenren’s Jadelight Clan, he turned around, as he was sure there were also marriage prospects waiting for him here, planning an ambush or something similar. Same for Soaren’s Goldsun Clan and Andiron’s Blackryst Clan. He wanted to evolve these brothers so that they wouldn’t complain about being left behind next time, but he found it exhausting to deal with women using his sincere character.

He just wanted to play right now, so he made the conscious decision to stay away from his friend’s daughters and granddaughters.

On his way to Drake’s home, he was suddenly intercepted by a wraith underneath the night sky.

"Divine Emperor of Death, I heard you commanded an army of ghosts. I need them."

"Oh? You’re going to break into the Divine Exalt Stage?"

Davis gazed at Lady Thunderwraith with interest.

"Yes." Lady Thunderwraith answered coldly, but still gave a heavy nod.

Davis looked amused, "Are you going to refine them or turn them into your faithful slaves?"

"Not at all." Lady Thunderwraith shook her head, "Souls are present anywhere, and the living beings of all races believe in the reincarnation cycle, believe in ghosts. That kind of negative faith alone is enough to power my- no, every ghost into the Divine Exalt Stage as long as they could fulfill the other prerequisite. As long as the living exists, we exist. As long as the living fears us, we grow stronger."

Davis nodded in understanding.

He and Natalya had already established that faith doesn’t just come in one flavor. Even hating someone with passion was a type of negative faith that only seeks to fuel the other party’s growth if they were a Divine Exalt or someone who could absorb faith and utilize it.

"So you want my ghosts to worship you to make you more powerful?" Davis wanted to help her get to the point

"Yes... I promise I will be a great and powerful asset to your forces. As Your Majesty already knows, I’ve already collected the ingredient required for my Godskull to reach the second level."
