Chapter 2415  City of Blood

Yuan looked at Supreme Ruler Dena, who was still gawking at him with a dazed look on her face.

"Looks like I can turn into a demon now," he remarked with a smile on his face, which only made her flustered even more.

"C-Can you return to your original form?" she asked in a nervous voice. "Or are you stuck like that permanently?"

Yuan deactivated his Demonic Awakening and said, "It is not permanent. It's similar to my Dragon Awakening."

"Oh…" she mumbled, sounding a little disappointed.

"Then how long can you maintain that form for?" Yuan pondered for a bit before responding, "It's not too tiring, so I can probably maintain it for as long as I want as long as I don't use all of my energy in one go."

"By the way, what's with that look on your face? I have never seen such an expression from you before," he suddenly addressed the elephant in the room.

"I-I have no idea what you're talking about!" Supreme Ruler Dena hastily responded in a flustered manner, and her hair started moving by itself to cover her face.

"…" Yuan raised an eyebrow at her unusual reaction.

Although Supreme Ruler Dena was acting like a lovestruck maiden, it never occurred to Yuan that was actually the case, as in his mind, she was incapable of feeling such emotions.

Suddenly, Lev and Purple returned to them, breaking the awkward atmosphere.

"What was that just now?! Who did that terrifying presence belong to?!" Lev asked nervously.

Had Yuan not already deactivated his Demonic Awakening, Lev wouldn't have even dared to return.

"You mean this presence?" Yuan abruptly activated Demonic Awakening again.

"My god! That was you?!" Lev cried out loud, his eyes widening with disbelief.

Supreme Ruler Dena's hair subtly moved just enough for her to peek at Yuan's violent appearance.

As for Purple, she was left utterly speechless. And despite her naturally purple complexion, a faint flush of red crept across her face.

'What the hell happened to him in such a short time?!' she cried inwardly, unable to trust her own eyes, and even more shocking, the fact that she found herself drawn to him.

Yuan deactivated his transformation a moment later, and an audible 'aw…' could be heard coming from Supreme Ruler Dena.

"Alright, let's continue heading to the City of Blood," Yuan said.

He activated Void Manipulation, and they instantly traversed over a hundred thousand miles.

"How long do you think it'll take us to reach the City of Blood at this pace?" Yuan asked Purple a few minutes into their journey.

"Uhhh… a few years?" she said, sounding uncertain.

Meanwhile, at the City of Blood, the Demon God's Formation had recently been completed. However, the Supreme Ruler was nowhere to be seen.

"Supreme Adviser! Have you seen or spoken to the Supreme Ruler lately? All preparations are completed!"

"No, the Supreme Ruler hasn't returned since he left to communicate with the Demon God," the Supreme Adviser shook his head.

"We have received information from our scouts that they could sense 'their' presence quickly approaching our city!"

"It would be great if the Supreme Ruler returns before they arrive, but if he doesn't, we'll have to face her on our own and hopefully stall her for long enough for his return."

Despite the urgent situation, none of them even considered disturbing the Supreme Ruler, as nothing took priority over the Demon God, even if the entire city were to be burnt down.

Two years later, Yuan stopped using Void Manipulation.

"We have arrived at the City of Blood," he said aloud as they hovered a few hundred miles away, just enough to see the city on the horizon.

"Why did we stop here?" Purple asked, trying her best not to sound off or nervous.

Yuan didn't respond and merely stared at the city in silence.

"As I thought, they've prepared an ambush for us," he said out loud without a care if Purple could hear him or not.

"?!" Purple's eyes widened.

Yuan turned to look at her and smiled, "They could've made it less obvious by not evacuating the entire city. That being said, the formation surrounding the city is just as obvious."

"What do you want to do, Dena?" Yuan turned to ask her.

"Are you afraid?" she suddenly asked.

"Why would I be?"

"Then there's no reason not to go, even if it's a trap."

Yuan nodded with a smile, "Oh, Lev, you should probably—"

"Stay here, right? No problem." Lev immediately said without hesitation. Purple looked at him with a weird gaze.

'Is he really just a nobody?' she wondered inwardly.

"You are coming with us, right?" Yuan suddenly asked Purple, snapping her out of her thoughts.

"Of course!"

Moments later, Yuan and Supreme Ruler Dena approached the City of Blood while Purple followed them from behind, keeping a certain distance from them.

"How does it feel to finally return home after spending so long in the Deprived Crimson Valley?" Yuan asked Supreme Ruler Dena.

"I was basically asleep during my entire duration there until you woke me up, so it doesn't feel that long. However, this place definitely feels foreign," she said.

"Perhaps it's the lack of presence, or maybe it's how much the place has changed, but it really feels different."

"Well, considering how long you've been gone, it's normal."

Soon, they arrived at the city walls, and almost instantly, Yuan felt thousands of gazes fall upon them.

"Seriously… could they be any more obvious?" he muttered, slightly dumbfounded by their apparent lack of stealth.

However, unbeknownst to him, these individuals were in fact concealing their presence. It was simply that Yuan's Soul Strength had grown so formidable that he perceived them as clearly as if they weren't hiding at all.

Eventually, they arrived at the heart of the city, where a colossal tower soared into the heavens, its peak seemingly piercing the sky itself.

"Where's the Supreme Ruler? Why isn't he showing up?" Yuan turned to ask Purple.
