Chapter 2447 Weird Energy

"So, what does this Owen want from you in exchange for freedom?" Selena asked the two a moment later.

"He asked for some of our blood," said Helena. "Despite his outrageous request, we are willing to overlook it if it means regaining our freedom."

"Did you already give him your blood?" Selena raised her eyebrows.

"Of course not. We're not foolish enough to give him our blood before we are certain that—," Angela said. "Actually…" Helena suddenly interrupted, "I was with Owen just before coming here, and I gave him some of my blood."

"You what?!" Angela looked at her with wide eyes.

"I know what you're thinking, but I didn't give it to him for nothing," Helena said as she raised an arm and continued, "I don't know what he did, but I was able to partially leave Death Paradise."

"Is that true?!" Angela exclaimed, her voice full of excitement.

Helena nodded, "I was able to extend my arm outside of Death Paradise for a full minute."

"That's… great!" Angela said.

Due to the Demon God's punishment, none of them were able to stick even a single hair outside of Death Paradise, so an entire arm was definitely a significant improvement. Yuan raised an eyebrow at their words and asked, "What did Owen do to help you, exactly?"

"He gave me some weird energy," she said. "Weird energy?" Yuan raised an eyebrow.

"Can I examine this energy?"

"What?" Helena frowned with a look of disgust on her face.

"Are you crazy? There's no way I'd let you examine my body. Even if I did, that energy is long gone."

"Hmm…" Yuan narrowed his eyes.

He suddenly raised an arm with his palm pointing to the sky, unleashing some Eternal Essence.

"Is this the energy you gained from him?"

"T-That's—!" Not just Helena, but Selena and Angela expressed surprise, clearly recognizing Eternal Essence.

"Why can you wield that power?!"

The three of them suddenly moved away from Yuan and entered into battle stances, their expressions etched with vigilance and fear.

"Answer me! Why can you wield that power, Demon God's dog!" Helena roared, her aura oozing with immense killing intent.

Yuan withdrew his Eternal Essence and spoke, "Do you think this power is exclusive to the Demon God or something? Sorry to tell you, but he's not the only one who can wield it. In fact, there are dozens of beings out there with this power."

"What the hell are you trying to say?" Angela frowned.

"Are you stupid? I already told you. The Demon God isn't the only existence in this universe that can wield this power, as it is not exclusive to him."

"Then what is that power? And who else could wield it?" Selena asked.

"This power is called Eternal Essence, and it can only be wielded by existences known as 'Eternals'. They are god-like beings that live in the boundless void beyond the sky of this world. Of course, the one you know as Demon God is simply one of many Eternals out there."

"There are… many more Demon Gods out there?" Selena shivered just at the thought, looking utterly bewildered and in disbelief.

"Yes, there are many Eternals out there. However, they're not all like the Demon God."

"That doesn't make me feel any better…" Selena shook her head.

"Why are you worried about them? It's not like they're all out to get you." Yuan then said, "Anyway, is this the energy that Owen gave you?"

Angela and Selena turned to look at Helena, who nodded her head after snapping out of her daze.

"Yes… and he claims it's proof that he has direct access to the Demon God, and can even persuade the Demon God to free us…" Helena revealed.

Yuan fell silent, wondering how Owen, a mere demon, could wield Eternal Essence.

"How did Owen infuse Eternal Essence into your body?" Yuan then asked. "Did he directly give it to you?"

Helena shook her head.

"No. It was transferred to me through some needle," she replied.

"So it was given to you indirectly…"

'However, this means another Eternal could be involved in this situation. Why the hell is another Eternal interfering with the Demonic Realm? I would understand if this was the Nine Heavens and they were trying to use Owen to acquire the Absolute Power, but there's no such thing in the Demonic Realm!' Yuan wondered inwardly, as he couldn't comprehend why another Eternal would work with Owen to free the Transcendents.

"What are you thinking about?" Selena suddenly asked Yuan.

"Oh, just that Owen isn't capable of wielding Eternal Essence himself and that he's being assisted by an Eternal."

"You mean an entity like the Demon God is helping Owen? Why would they do such a thing?" "How would I know?" he shrugged.

"Anyway, unlike Owen, whose purpose is still unknown, I, on the other hand, can help you regain your freedom as long as you give Owen to me," Yuan said.

Helena and Angela exchanged glances with each other, clearly debating about Yuan's offer through voice transmission.

A few minutes later, Angela turned to look at Yuan and said, "Since you can wield that power, does that mean you can help us leave Death Paradise now?"

"Well, I can certainly try…"

Angela nodded.

"Then, if you can grant us our freedom now, we will not only allow you to kill Owen, we will even capture him for you."

A smile appeared on Yuan's face as he replied, "Let's do that."

"Then let's do it immediately!"

Without warning, Angela used Void Manipulation on everyone there, teleporting them to the edge of Death Paradise.

"Alright! Inject me with your Eternal Essence and grant me my freedom!" Angela said.

"Before we start, I must warn you that I have never directly injected Eternal Essence into another being and that things might not go as you expect."

"Spare me that nonsense and just do it. What's the worst that can happen?" Angela hastily said, clearly impatient to regain her freedom.

"If you say so."

Without hesitation, Yuan grabbed her wrist and injected some Eternal Essence into her body.

The very next instant, Angela started to scream in pain, her face twisting with agony.

"IT HURTS!" she roared out loud as she yanked her arm from Yuan's grasp.

"AHHH!"

Angela's arm suddenly expanded like a balloon, and mere seconds later, exploded.

"Angela?!"

Selena and Helena cried out loud.

"Bastard! What have you done to her?!" Helena rushed at Yuan and grabbed him by the neck, barely holding herself back from crushing it.

"I did exactly as I said I would—inject Eternal Essence into her body," Yuan responded. "I warned her this might happen, too."

"Bullshit!" Helena roared. "How come I didn't experience anything like this when Owen injected Eternal Essence into my body?!"

"I don't know. It's likely that the Eternal Essence you accepted had been altered, and what I gave her was Eternal Essence in its purest form, something that can only be endured by Eternals."

"Can you let go of my neck now? If I really wanted to harm her, I wouldn't have held back on the amount of Eternal Essence I gave her because I feared something like this might happen."

"L-Let him go…" Angela suddenly spoke in a low voice.

Helena released Yuan and turned to look at her, who had just fully regenerated her arm.

"He's telling the truth. I only felt a drop of that energy enter my body, and I was about to complain about it but was interrupted," she sighed.

Angela looked at Yuan with her back soaked in sweat and continued, "That power is definitely the same power used by the Demon God when we fought him. Since you can use it… are you also an Eternal?"

Yuan shook his head, "No, my situation is unique."

He looked at Helena and said, "If you want me to help you, I will need to examine your body, even if it's likely that the energy Owen gave you is no longer there."

Helena gritted her teeth and nodded, "Alright…"

A moment later, Yuan successfully extracted the energy and consumed it himself.

He closed his eyes and became as still as a statue.

The others watched in silence, not daring to interrupt him.

They expected him to finish in a few minutes, but hours passed without any movement from Yuan.

Hours turned into days, and days turned into weeks.

Finally, after half a year, Yuan opened his eyes.
