Chapter 2454 Sheltered by the Absolute Power

Chapter 2454 Sheltered by the Absolute Power

"I'm so scared," Yuan replied in a sarcastic tone after hearing Zaaran's words.

"Just you wait! I will kill—no! I will turn you into my puppet and have you serve me for the rest of your life, just as Kulas had done!"

"You talk too much, Zaaran. Hurry up and get your ass here so I can finally punch that ugly face of yours!" Yuan laughed madly.

Zaaran offered no response. In the next instant, Owen's treasure detonated, releasing a violent surge of Eternal Essence that blasted outward like a bomb.

Zaaran probably thought it would harm Yuan a little, but he could've never anticipated that his actions would actually benefit Yuan, who absorbed all of the Eternal Essence and turned it into his own strength.

Though it wasn't much, Yuan needed as much Eternal Essence as he could before fighting Zaaran.

Even though he was the one who picked the fight, Yuan realized that he might have rushed things a little too much out of passion and anger.

Not only does he not know Zaaran's prowess, but he wasn't sure he could defeat an Eternal in his current state, especially when the Absolute Power wasn't there to suppress the Eternal's powers.

However, even if he wasn't confident he could defeat Zaaran, and there was a chance things might turn out badly for him, Yuan had no intention of backing away from a fight he started, especially when his opponent was Zaaran, one of the first Eternals to offend him.

"You… what have you done?" Selena asked, staring at Yuan with a dumbfounded expression.

Though she hadn't heard their conversation, the look on Yuan's face—and the fact that the treasure had exploded right in his face—was more than enough to tell her things had gone very, very wrong.

"Oh, it's nothing serious. I just picked a fight with the bastard, and he agreed, so we'll be fighting in seven days from now."

"What?!" Selena exclaimed in shock. "Why would you do that? This being is potentially as powerful as the Demon God, no?"

"Who knows? I will find out when I fight him." Yuan casually shrugged.

"But why?" Selena asked again.

"Because I already know this Eternal, and I have a grudge with it."

"What about us?" Lev suddenly asked.

Yuan turned to look at them and said, "This is a battle you won't be able to participate in, so just stay here and wait for my return."

"Supreme Ruler Grant… you can return to the Crimson Continent if you want, as your presence is no longer necessary—even though you haven't been of any use at all."

"Really?!" Supreme Ruler Grant's face immediately brightened with delight and relief.

"Just make sure you remember never to invade my world because I won't spare you for a second time."

Supreme Ruler Grant vigorously nodded his head.

"I swear upon the Demon God's name that I won't even think about invading your world! Then, I will leave now!"

Without hesitation or waiting for another moment, he turned around and started flying away at maximum speed, as if he were worried that Yuan might suddenly change his mind.

In the blink of an eye, Supreme Ruler Grant vanished from their sights.

"That's not the direction to the Crimson Continent, though." Selena eventually remarked.

"I'm sure he'll figure it out." Yuan said.

"Anyway… I have something I must do before Zaaran gets here…"

Yuan slowly lifted his head, his gaze rising toward the heavens, but his focus wasn't the sky itself. Instead, he seemed to be looking at something beyond it.

"Deemo! I know you're watching this! How long do you intend to stay quiet?!" Yuan roared out loud.

"Deemo?" Selena raised an eyebrow at this unfamiliar name, unaware that it was the Demon God's true name.

In the very next moment, an unfathomable presence descended—one that did not merely engulf Death Paradise, but spread across the entirety of the Demonic Realm.

"This presence…?!" Selena's entire body stiffened as she instantly recognized it, her expression turning deathly pale as fear overtook her features.

Lev trembled as well, but his fear was instinctive—an involuntary reaction to the overwhelming presence. In contrast, Selena's terror was born from experience, making it far more profound.

Selena turned to look at Yuan, who remained as calm as before. In fact, he was probably the only person in the world who could remain calm at this moment.

Before she could utter a single word, a silhouette materialized a few meters in front of Yuan like a phantom.

It bore the shape of a human, yet its entire form was pitch black—like a figure carved from the void itself. Its head was smooth and round, devoid of hair, and its face… was completely featureless.

"What do you want from me now?" Deemo spoke first.

"Are you seriously asking me that? As if you don't already know the situation," Yuan replied.

"…" Deemo fell silent for a moment before speaking again, "Once again, you are putting my world in danger—"

"Now hold it right there."

Yuan suddenly interrupted.

"Let's not act like I started this, okay? An Eternal was scheming in your world long before I even entered the stage."

"Hell, do you even know what's happening? Don't tell me you are actually oblivious to something that is occurring in your own world?"

Yuan narrowed his eyes at Deemo, his brows lifting slightly. He had always assumed that Deemo was aware of everything happening within his own world—but perhaps that wasn't entirely true.

"This may be my world, but I do not pay attention to it every second. There are things even I am unaware of," Deemo finally responded.

His words left not only Yuan stunned. Even Selena stood there in shock at the revelation.

"Why are you so surprised? It's not like this world is the only thing that requires my attention. In fact, it's the least of my concerns right now."

Deemo shook his head.

"Anyway, fill me in. I know that another Eternal is involved, but I do not know the details."

However, Yuan didn't immediately respond, as he didn't want to give up such information for free.

"…"

Seeing Yuan remain silent, Deemo sighed.

"If you tell me, I will consider the favor you owe from repaid," he said a moment later.

Yuan nodded and explained the situation to him, revealing that Zaaran had been scheming in his world.

"That's the gist of it. Do you know why Zaaran would want to acquire their blood?" Yuan wasn't expecting anything, but to his surprise, Deemo actually nodded his head and said, "I have an idea."

"Why?"

"Why do you care? It's not something you need to worry about, anyway."

"Because if Zaaran wants something, I want to take it away from him."

Although Deemo did not have any facial features, if he did, his eyebrows would lift at Yuan's words.

"Are you going to do anything about Zaaran scheming in your world?" Yuan suddenly asked.

"I want to, but I also want to watch you fight him, so I will wait until you are done," he said.

"By saying that, you think I will lose to Zaaran?" Yuan frowned slightly.

"Don't tell me you actually think you can beat Zaaran?"

"To be frank, I have no idea how strong Zaaran even is." Yuan shook his head.

"What do you think? How strong is that bastard? Don't tell me that he's even stronger than you."

"Hahaha!" Deemo burst out laughing. "Stronger than me? He's nowhere near as strong as me!"

"What about Saaruk? Is he stronger than Saaruk?"

"I haven't fought Saaruk, but I think they're close."

"So he's pretty powerful…" Yuan mumbled.

"Anyway, I will be fighting him in seven days."

"Seven days? There's no way he'll arrive at this place in such a short time with his real body, so he'll probably come here as an avatar."

"Is that so?"

Yuan felt a little relieved upon learning this, as it meant that Zaaran likely won't be fighting at his full strength.

"Have you fought an Eternal before? Besides me, that is." Deemo suddenly asked.

"I have, but I have never fought one that didn't have their strength restricted by the Absolute Power."

"Then you'll be in for a surprise," Deemo chuckled.

"But I fought with you?"

Deemo shook his head.

"While that may have been a life-or-death battle for you, it doesn't even qualify as a fight—a spar for me. If anything, it was no different from playing with a child. I said this before, but if I really wanted to kill you, I could've done so with a single breath. You're underestimating Eternals a little too much, mortal."

"However, I can't blame you, given you've spent most of your life sheltered by the Absolute Power."

"Spent most of my life sheltered by the Absolute Power…?" Yuan repeated in a low voice.

As much as he wanted to rebuke such a claim, Yuan knew that it was the truth, so he had no choice but to silently accept it.
