Chapter 2515: Yuan’s Affinity

Chapter 2515: Yuan’s Affinity

’If he’s truly discovering his affinity now, what kind of affinity will show up in a mortal body?’ Shiva wondered inwardly as she continued watching Yuan.

Though she was irritated that Yuan might discover his affinity so soon, she was also intrigued by the possibilities.

’A mortal cultivating a cultivation technique meant for gods, huh? Will his incomplete Eternal Constitution even be able to handle the stress?’

’Perhaps I shouldn’t even have given him the technique in the first place, as it only makes him even more of a threat to us...’

Shiva was slowly beginning to regret sharing the cultivation technique with Yuan, a mortal who was clearly not afraid of offending or clashing with Eternals.

A few more hours later, the Eternal Essence radiating from Yuan began undergoing a fundamental transformation, and the outline of his affinity slowly started to reveal itself.

Suddenly, a powerful chill ran down Shiva’s spine, causing her to instinctively leap away from Yuan.

’What was that feeling?!’ she cried inwardly, her eyes narrowing at Yuan.

That was when Shiva realized that everything surrounding Yuan was being converted into Eternal Essence.

However, upon closer inspection, she discovered that Yuan had not actually begun cultivating the technique yet. Instead, the surroundings around him were being transformed into Eternal Essence automatically.

As the Eternal Essence surrounding Yuan grew stronger and denser, his surroundings began transforming into essence at an increasingly rapid pace.

Naturally, this also meant that the chamber itself was slowly being destroyed by the process.

’Wait! Something isn’t right!’ Shiva’s eyes widened when she noticed this.

When an Eternal begins discovering their affinity, their surroundings naturally reflect the nature of that affinity.

For example, when Shiva discovered her own affinity in her slumber, she awoke to find herself completely surrounded by indestructible ice.

"What kind of affinity is this...?" Shiva mumbled in a puzzled voice.

The more Shiva examined Yuan’s Eternal Essence, the more confused she became.

Although there existed countless different affinities—far more than the number of Eternals themselves—she was familiar with many of them. Yet never before had she seen or even heard of an affinity capable of turning its surroundings into essence.

’Perhaps I was mistaken this entire time, and this phenomenon isn’t caused by him discovering an affinity at all...’ Shiva eventually thought inwardly.

’No, let’s watch a little longer...’

While Shiva wanted to watch longer, Zi Xuan had a different thought.

"Wake up!" she shouted at Yuan.

"What are you doing?" Shiva frowned.

"Isn’t it obvious that I am trying to wake him up?!" Zi Xuan exclaimed.

Before Shiva could respond, Zi Xuan continued, "Look around us! This place is going to be destroyed if things continue!"

"So what? If you disturb him now, he might never—"

"Shut up! This place might mean nothing to you, but it means everything to me!"

Without hesitation, Zi Xuan took advantage of her existence as his sword spirit and spoke directly into Yuan’s mind through their connection. After all, she knew that he’d never hear her voice if she tried speaking to him normally.

Soon, Yuan slowly opened his eyes, and the Eternal Essence surrounding him gradually vanished soon after.

"If I had simply left you alone, you would’ve completely destroyed this entire place along with everything inside it," Zi Xuan said with a deep sigh.

Yuan looked around the chamber, and sure enough, it appeared as though an intense battle had taken place there.

Fortunately, the anvil and the golden wheel remained completely undamaged, as they were far more durable than the chamber itself.

"Thank you," Yuan said as he stood up. "If you hadn’t stopped me, I would’ve completely wrecked this place, as well as this..."

Yuan looked at the golden wheel with a nostalgic air around him.

"You could have discovered your affinity if you hadn’t stopped," Shiva said to him.

"My affinity? What are you talking about?" Yuan asked with raised eyebrows.

Shiva then explained everything that had happened while he was immersed in the cultivation technique.

"I see..." Yuan muttered afterward. "Although it’s somewhat regrettable, I can always try again another time. If this place gets destroyed, it cannot be replaced."

"That being said, I still have more time. Let’s try again at another location."

Yuan left the chamber shortly afterward and continued cultivating outside, where there was nothing important he could accidentally destroy.

Shiva inwardly shook her head and sighed.

’To waste a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity over something so insignificant... what a waste.’

She genuinely believed that what Yuan had experienced inside the chamber was the result of pure luck and that such a phenomenon could never be replicated again.

However, less than an hour after Yuan resumed cultivating, Eternal Essence once again began emanating from his body.

’What is going on...?’ Shiva muttered with a bewildered look on her face.

Not only had the phenomenon returned, but it was now far stronger than before.

The ground beneath Yuan—and even the very air surrounding him—rapidly transformed into essence.

’T-This is—!"

Shiva’s entire body trembled as a sudden realization struck her.

It had not been obvious before, but now she could finally discern the true nature of Yuan’s affinity.

’No! It can’t be! This is impossible!’

Shiva slowly stepped away from Yuan, a horrified expression appearing on her face, as though she had just witnessed something truly terrifying.

Suddenly, killing intent surfaced within Shiva’s gaze, and her hands slowly clenched into tight fists.

’Should I just kill him before he realizes it...?’ Shiva wondered inwardly.

However, Shiva had little time to dwell on those thoughts because almost immediately after the killing intent surfaced within her, Zi Xuan sensed it and attacked her from behind.

"What do you think you’re doing?" Shiva slowly turned to look at Zi Xuan after blocking her attack with ease.

"I should be asking you that," Zi Xuan calmly responded. "I can sense your killing intent toward my darling. What are you trying to do?"

"..."

Shiva remained silent for a brief moment before calmly responding in a nonchalant voice, "Nothing. It’s just a misunderstanding."

The killing intent in her eyes vanished completely afterward, and she returned to observing Yuan as though nothing had happened at all.
