Chapter 2029 – Hope
Ting!
I was resting when I heard the message bell on my holowatch, and without looking, I knew whats it was about. Still, I looked, and it was about the thing I had expected; my parents would be arriving at the Academy within a minute.
I immediately got off the bed and walked into the living room and found lady Angela is sitting where I left her, reading a book from the bookshelf I had created.
"It is a good book, have quite a unique take on the illusions. I will be borrowing it from you," She said and placed the book down on the table.
"You don't have to borrow it, Lady Angela; this book is part of a collection of books I have donated to the broken tower," I said.
"I had heard about it from Charline; she was quite impressed with the collection of books you have donated," She said, referring to the librarian.
Seeing how the Wisdom Tower had been great to me and let me give unrestricted access to their grand library, including the secret collection that very few people get to read. I had donated copies of most of the books I had to it; it is the least I could do for the great favor they have done to me.
"Let's go, your parents should arrive at any second," Said the old woman, and I found myself disappearing from my home and next moment found in front of the teleportation formation.
"Grand Tower Mistress, Micheal," Teacher greeted the old women as we appeared. Teacher is alone, the councilmember is not present, likely busy controlling the chaos that just occurred an hour ago.
The whole Academy had seen that battle, and also many organizations. If I had not needed the Teacher, she would have been handling it all instead of the councilmembers, but for me, she had passed the job to the councilmembers.
Buzz!
A few seconds had passed when the formation lighted up, and four people appeared. Aside from my parents and sister, there is an older man who looked to be in his late sixties.
The feeling he gave me is vast; I am no match for this old man; he could crush me with a finger if he wanted. Though he is not at the level of lady Angela and Lord of Glass, there is a considerable difference between them.
"Micheal!" My parents said before they came hugged me tightly; it had been quite a while since they have embraced me this tightly.
"Grand Tower Mistress, I did not expect you to be still here," Said the old man who had come with my mother. "Why?" The old woman asked back, making the old man flustered immediately.
"I did not mean as disrespect grand tower mistress, I just thought you would be at more important places seeing there is war is going on," answered the old man flustered, clearly very uncomfortable under old women's gaze.
"This is an important place, Patrick," Old woman said while casting a glance at me; the old man just nodded without saying anything.
"Grand Tower Mistress, thank you for saving our son; without your help, he would not have been standing with us," Mother said.
"We have paid huge prize to do that, little girl; I hope your son understands it," Old woman said without messing up her words. Mother seeds to understand what she meant as her eyes shot up in shock; the same reaction comes across the old man who came with her.
"You mean?" Mother asked with a slightly shaking voice, and old women just nodded. "I will make sure Micheal understands that Grand Tower Mistress," Mother said. I am quite curious about what they are talking about, but I did not ask; it is not the time.
"Micheal, I had readied the top floor of the infirmary," Teacher said as we finished with the small talk. "There is no need for an infirmary teacher; my home would be enough," I said with a smile, surprising quite a lot of people.
The surprise on the people's faces hadn't worn off when we disappeared from my spot and appeared on the patio of my house.
"Mom, it is time to destroy the curse from your body," I said as I took her hands into mine.
She visibly shook hearing it, and I could only guess what effects my words might have been having on her right now.
While I have the same curse as she has, and mine was even more dangerous due to it being sentient, it did not trouble me much, except for giving me constant fear of it consuming me, but a mother is different.
Th curse has sealed her powers and made her weak as a knight; if not for her constantly fighting with the curse and numerous sealing methods employed in her body that kept the curse at bay, she would have been consumed by it already.
"It is not easy to destroy that curse, young man. The greatest healers of the world have tried decades ago and were powerless again it." The old man that came with my mother said
"Now, the curse had spread into the very essence of your monther, bonded with her very life itself; it is very hard, near impossible to cure this curse," He added.
"Lord Patric is right; the curse had merged with my very being," Mom said with a tear dripping out from her left eye.
I know the curse of a mother is dangerous and spread to her deepest. Teacher had tried it, but she was not able to reach much deeper due to the power of the curse being too great, always repelling any efforts to heal her.
Still, I have some confidence, the curse is the most heavies subject Ive ever researched, and thanks to some of the books I have read in the Hermes library, I have devised a method, which gives me some confidence in healing my mother's curse, not to mention I now have a secrete weapon.
"Would you at least let me try?" I had asked her.. "Of course, if there is anyone in the world who has a hope to heal my curse then, its you, my son," She said as she placed her hand on my cheeks.
