Chapter 4560: Promise

Chapter 4560: Promise

"Good, I will start teaching you from tomorrow," I stated, hearing her answer.

I didn’t plan this, since I was already teaching her the basics of healing, but something came over me, and I offered her. It might have been a little impulsive, but I don’t regret it.

We move to the store, while the girls remain quiet.

I could see there are hundreds of questions on her face, but she is not asking any. I like the girl’s sense; she understood when I would answer the questions and when I would not.

So, with her, I visited a couple of more stores and revisited a few after I didn’t get the quality I needed.

It was night when we returned, and she directly rushed into the kitchen while I sat down at my usual seat by the window.

I am a little surprised that there are still a lot of people here. I thought there would be a few fewer with the clinic being closed and all.

A few minutes passed, and Mira came in, but she wasn’t alone; with her was her mother.

Many people looked surprised to see her; one man simply got up, muttering under his breath.

Soon, both of them stopped in front of me. Mira placed the dinner in front of me, while looking very nervous; the girl is usually not nervous.

"Are you going to teach my daughter, origin inheritance, Healer Ross?" she asked.

"I will be teaching her runes and inheritance crafting. The inheritance, she will have to create herself," I replied with a small smile.

I could help a little with that, too, skirting some rules, but I am not going to do that. I will be strict with her, as Marina was with me.

"Origin Inheritances are hard; a few people succeed in them," she said, and I smiled.

They are hard. If they were not, then everybody would have used them. Still, if one succeeds, they will not face many of the roadblocks others do.

"How will you teach her? I heard that deep knowledge of runes is required for it," she asked.

"Not deep, just the basic one," I replied.

Though there are differences in her definition of basic and mine. Still, I believe the girl had potential and was intelligent enough to do it; otherwise, I wouldn’t have wasted my time.

The woman didn’t say anything and kept looking at me.

"Do you have origin inheritance?" she asked, and she got an answer other than a smile. She had somewhat expected it, but it still shocked her.

It took her a while to come to herself.

"I am handing the future of my daughter in my hands, Healer Ross. I hope you will take good care of her," she said, looking at her with weight, which felt stifling.

The woman is weaker than even a child in front of me, but looking at her eyes, I know she is a parent who would do anything for her daughter.

I don’t know what a child is or even if they are born, but even now, I am willing to do anything for them. It is for their safety; I am here and not in the realms of the celestial tower.

"I promise, I will take care of her," I replied after a moment of silence.

The woman nodded at me gratefully before walking away into the kitchen, leaving with the young girl.

"Enjoy your dinner, teacher," she said, calling me that for the first time before she walked away. I looked at her for a moment before turning to the dinner in front of me.

It’s good, slightly cold, but that’s fine.

I ate everything before walking the stairs to my room.

As I entered, I laid down the bed. Usually, I think for a few minutes before falling asleep, but today, I am feeling different. I don’t want to lie in bed, nor do I want to sleep.

I close my eyes to enter my core, but I don’t want to do that.

A few minutes later, I got up, and all the furniture in the room disappeared, along with the clothes on my body.

It’s been over a month since I practiced my methods. I tried a couple of times, but didn’t feel like doing it. Standing in the middle of the room, I feel like doing it again.

I didn’t start immediately.

No, given how dangerous methods are, I need to be absolutely sure. One wrong more, and it will be over for me; the energies will rip through me.

It will be a luck, if I survive. I don’t want that.

It pains me to see days pass and not practice, but I have not been in the right space. If I had forced myself, something terrible would have happened.

A minute passed when finally, I began.

I felt the touch of thousands of needles inside me, and a moment later, the essence filled me. It is a new formula that my clones made a week ago.

I might not be working, but everything is going on in my core like nothing had happened.

I had suppressed the connection with my core, aside from a minute a day, when my clone informs me of their progress. There is also an exception for emergencies, but I don’t think my clones need to use that.

I took one last deep breath and began the dance of ukasanavor.

The movements were smooth and practiced; there was a single moment of inconsistency despite over a month of break. It made me relieved.

If I had sensed any, I would have stopped now.

I could stop now before the energy comes, but once it does. It will be very hard to stop. I could stop now, it will be painful to extract the essence out of me, but I could do it.

Once the energy came and filled me, there was no way but to continue.

I did one pose after another, and finally, the worldly energy appeared and began to fill me. Soon, enough of it had entered that there is now no choice but to succeed.
