The God Virus

374 The Dark Longsword

"The Darkest Night, The Shining Moon."

That was the name of this dark longsword and it was seeing the light of the day for the very first time in history.

Now that Virus had the longsword in his grasp, all Virus had to do was to charge at the monster before brandishing it at its gigantic figure.

Yet, unfortunately, Virus knew better that the chances of success in charging like that were a rather small number.

Having already simulated the result of his direct attack internally and having gone through what he did previously, Virus was quite sure that the Plant Kraken's attack and movement speed was higher than even him. Therefore, in order to come out triumphant, he needed to somehow increase the possibility of a successful attack landing on the creature's physique.

'Hmm, I should calculate the likely solutions to the situation-' Just as a sharp glint had gone through Virus' eyes, abruptly, he was interrupted by a feminine sound, "Die for me!"

Fshhh~

ROARRR~

And it was followed by a rage of red flames which covered the entirety of the Plant Kraken in a single instant.

Surprised by this unexpected turn of events, Virus looked toward the source of the noise, only to catch the sight of the familiar face of the famous Guardian, Atish.

At the same time, she was also staring back at Virus very intently. Her eyes were shining so brightly that it was as if she wanted to penetrate right through the mask of Virus so as to unearth all his secrets in one go!

"Y-you… you're the Dark Savior!!!" Pointing at him, she screamed in both shock and veneration as if she had just laid her eyes upon her greatest idol in the world.

'Those pitch-black scales covering his legs and arm… there's no mistaking it! He's definitely that dark-haired man, the Dark Savior!' She concluded with her eyes wide open.

Truthfully, the moment Atish's eyes had landed on Virus' figure, her mind had promptly gone back to a few years ago to a certain point in time where she had watched the television with her eyes dim in absolute despair and helplessness.

It was at that time, after witnessing the monstrous strength of the flying-pig and the tragic death of the Burglar Tank right in front of her eyes, she had felt a heavy sensation of despair and suppression on her entire existence while gloom had covered the whole planet.

And it was precisely at that bleak time when a dark-haired youth had shown up as he heroically battered one humanoid-rabbit after another, sending them right into their eternal sleep, which in return, sent waves upon waves of soothing hope into the despondent hearts of everyone around the globe itself, Atish included in that list.

Now, while gazing passionately at his dashing figure, a notion went through her excited mind, 'The Dark Savior! The reason why I became courageous enough to step forward and start my journey as a Guardian. My hero!'

"Hmm?" Meanwhile, hearing her recognize him and address him as the 'Dark Savior', to be honest, Virus wasn't surprised in the least.

This was because he was already aware of the fact that his 'Dark Savior' persona was still quite famous and known in the eyes of the world even though he had mysteriously gone missing ever since.

To many people, the appearance of the 'Dark Savior' was like a turning point. A turning point where gloom seemed to be somewhat replaced with hope and light itself. In a way, he was like a symbol of aspiration today. A symbol of what one might even call heroism… a hero.

"Are you gonna continue staring blankly in my direction, or are you gonna help me deal with that thing?" Stated Virus before turning toward the creature that had been temporarily immobilized due to being surrounded in flames.

Finally snapping out of her stupor after catching his oddly awakening voice, a smile full of anticipation displayed itself on her face. "I… I'll help you. Just tell me what you need from me. Also, c-can we be friends? Perhaps… exchange numbers even?"

By now, the Plant Kraken was still howling and screaming in pain as it burned by the intense fire all around itself. However, although somewhat fatal, it didn't seem like the red-flames posed a grave danger to Kraken beast's life due to its strong regenerative capabilities.

And understanding this fact very clearly, Atish knew she was helpless in killing the Plant Kraken by herself. She could perhaps only momentarily restrain the monster while he dealt with it.

Therefore, she simply turned toward Virus and asked for guidance.

To be frank, she was quite speechless by how powerful the monster before her was since prior to today, she didn't believe there was any monster of the rift which she couldn't deal with by herself. But now… such a creature had shown up in front of her out of nowhere!

'Uh… that makes me remember, the last time the Dark Savior made an appearance, just like this time, there happened to be a monster around that no one could handle! Could it be… he only shows up when a beast appears that the current humanity can't deal with?' Her eyes were exuding such a deep brilliance of exhilaration and reverence at this point that one might even mistake them for a lighthouse in the sea!

And the more she wondered about the topic, the more confident she became that her conclusion was indeed the case.

"Just stall it like you're doing now, I'll do the rest."

Not being in the mood to entertain her at all, Virus only told her what to do before going quiet entirely.

Seeing the rest of her words ignored, she could only look at the monster once again while pouting. She was feeling slightly upset, however, she understood this wasn't the time. Therefore, raising her hands, she started focusing on maintaining her flames.

Fssshhh~

Seeing the sunken flames begin raging once more, Virus went into motion immediately.
