Chapter 1967: 24.228 Sixth Violet Star - First Wave

The alliance had decided to gather all their warriors and tamers for the incoming war. The elves, the dwarfs, the beastmen and all humans had gathered and decided to create troops to support the borders. The three rulers were fighting over how many people from their race should come and fight. But with the large difference of populations among the four races, they couldn’t exactly send their people with exact numbers as the others.

Among the four races, the human race had the most population. The elven and dwarven race were only half of the human race as for the beastmen race, they are only a quarter of the race of the humans. However, it can be said that among the four races, the only one who possessed the strongest strength were the beastmen, they also tamed the beast in their own way. There are also unique individuals among them like the prophet or the all powerful princes, Hei Anjing and Ye Xiajie, though these two are currently missing at the moment. It is undeniable that they are the strongest in the youngest generation.

As for the Elven race, they had the most affinity with the elements and they can be treated like mages. Dwarfs were physical attackers with support of fire and earth elements. They can defend and attack at the same time. As for the humans, they are flexible. Some had affinity with elements like Nangong Rui and some had compatibility with the beasts. Even though they aren’t physically strong on their own as long as they merge with their beasts they will be no different than beastmen.

It took a week for the people to gather. Of course, this big movement couldn’t escape the eyes of the ordinary people. They watch the news with heavy hearts. They haven’t healed from the incident that happened in the academy and for the losses they got. Now the beast race is attacking their alliance directly. It wasn’t hard for them to realize that what happened in the academy was most likely the sneak attack of the Evil Beast God to weaken the morale of the alliance by killing their children.

Now it was indeed useful. Those whose children had died lost their will to live and even with the war about to befall on them, they no longer cared as their most important one is no longer around. Seeing these parents, the rulers cannot give an issue for them to fight off the country.

General Gu Ying stood at one of the watchtowers of the walls to check the beasts gathering not too far from them. What made his expressions grim was the strange movement and formation these beasts are doing. Though there are pack type beasts which are quite hard to handle, more beasts work alone and as long a group surrounds them then they can easily be killed.

However, it wouldn’t be easy if these beasts learn warfare. Their current movements were no different from military summoning and this can only mean that there is a high grade commander on the other side for all these beasts regardless of their races to stand together without causing chaos.

Frowning. General Gu Ying said, "Is that battle formation? How can beasts know such a thing!?"

He continues to look around using his telescope trying to find the possible commander from the other side. Then at the top of a stone mountain they saw a black lion that looked like it came from hell with its red eyes and all. It even noticed his peer and smiled as if it definitely knew that someone was watching from that distance.

General Gu Ying even saw the movements of the Black Lion’s mouth, it said, "Let’s have fun with chaos, Human commander~."

There is no need to speculate. This is indeed an intelligent type beast commander and its aura is at least a Beast Emperor which is only weaker than a Beast God. It was unknown to what extent this beast emperor’s knowledge is but General Gu Ying believes that this war will definitely be not an easy one.

"Prepare for battle!!" General Gu Ying declared. "Also, inform the rulers about the intelligent Beast Emperor as the commander of the beast race."

His soldiers were never afraid of the beasts as fighting them was their responsibility and protecting the city is their duty. So when the commander asked them to gather, they cheered. This is a battle cry before the war begins. Only General Gu Ying knows that this time war will definitely lead to more tragedy than before. It would be similar to how the alliance almost fell before. But there is nothing he can do about this but do everything he could to defend the city.

On the second day before the rulers gathered their people, the beast had finally launched their first wave of attacks. The first wave of attacks are flying type beasts. They moved through the sky and did battle formation in the sky as well. There aren’t many types of flying beast tamers in the military however, they still made small teams to destroy the formation of the flying beasts above them and drag them down for a kill. There are also some energy cannons General Gu Ying issued to be used to shoot down all the beasts while supporting their soldiers.

General Gu Ying’s shouts can be heard all over the borders.

"Bring out half of the first level energy cannons. Shoot those beasts down! Protect the walls! Don’t let it break!"

"Follow the formations! Don’t go against the military orders!"

"This is real war! You must follow my commands accordingly! One mistake will cost many lives and this includes the family behind you!"

"Remember! We are the first line of defense and also the last one!"

The soldiers felt their wills lighted by these words. Their commander is correct. Their families are behind them if they fall, they will be in danger. That is something that mustn’t happen. Thinking about the people they wanted to protect, their courage flared and their determination to fight was greater than before. They followed the orders of their commander and trusted him that he would bring them victory again.

Regardless of their efforts, the advantage of those at flight cannot be easily shortened. There are some deaths, especially those who were dragged in the sky and failed to be caught when they fell. At least those who had fallen still have a chance to live but those who were eaten while in the sky had no escape at all. They choose to self implode instead.

The war continues and this first wave of beast resumes for three nights and two days. The birds in the morning would retreat and be replaced by flying beasts who can see clearly in the dark. The soldiers at the borders were limited and there were no people to change shifts, with this situation alone they had to fight all day and night along with barely enough sleep.

Just as they were about to collapse on the third day, the reinforcement from the other races had finally arrived. The waves of flying beasts still continue to go strong this morning as well. But the soldiers in the borders were so fatigued that they could barely stand up and they didn’t even dare to sit down afraid they might fall asleep the next second. That’s why with their red bloodshot eyes, they continue to fight against the beast above their heads without resting. Even General Gu Ying remains at the walls without sleeping watching over the changes at the movements of the beast.

He suddenly saw that the beasts started to retaliate and attack with things from the sky. He saw the beasts gathering a box full of sharpened wooden spears. Once the box was opened from above, it would have pierced anything below and this is such a deadly and wide attack. Adding gravity and force fall will cause so much damage to the soldiers in the land.

He once again commanded an order and shouted, "Prepare your shield. Gear up! They will be attacking with wooden weapons. Bring protection to your head from above with a shield. Never let your shield down!"

Then as if answering General Gu Ying’s words with action, the flying beasts team this time was bringing some kind of boxes with them. They saw two teams of beasts holding each side of the box then suddenly flying in the opposite direction. The under of the box opened and the pointed wooden spear fell in the sky like rain.

"Shield up!"

"Brace for the impact!"

"Those who don’t have their shields hide at the wall."

"Take cover! It’s falling!!"

Once the pointed spears fall from the sky, the soldiers put their shields up. The force of these spears falling on them made them fall on their knees and there are some worse things mixed in it.

Ugh! Urk! AAAGHHH!!!

Followed with the groans and moans were screams which startled the crowd. They noticed that some of the spears mixed in it are made of stones and metals. These are some weapons humans used and left behind when they ventured in the Barren Land. Who would have thought it would return to their city this way.

General Gu Ying noticed the scene and shouted, "Be careful! There are some metals and stones mixed in. Avoid it!!"
