Chapter 2050: 24.311 Sixth Violet Star - Conflict between Generals
At the central region of the ancient forest, the scouts from last night had successfully eliminated the scouts from the outside. They didn’t hesitate to kill the invaders that trespassed their land. They were only asked to scout for the number of enemies, the number of commanders and keep a tab on those coming over to their location. Of course, their main task was to plan new traps in the area which greatly slow down their enemies and at the same time lessen their numbers.
They had succeeded in their renaissance and also found out about the other side. There are currently two commanders from the enemy’s side. One is a fool without soldiers and most likely hasn’t arrived yet. The other one is clear-headed and is quite sharp that they didn’t get too close to this human general’s camp. They can see that this group of humans is completely different from the first team who enter the forest.
There wasn’t any reinforcement except for the other general who had just arrived but it didn’t mean they wouldn’t come especially since one of the generals were troopless. This information and the details of the second commander from the human side was reported to their main commander and vice commanders.
The Lord Guardian, former elf king, Vega had listened to the contents of their reports seriously. After all, for a warfare such as this what saved the vanguard the most was information. In a round table headed by Lord Vega and seated around the table are the vice commanders who would support him were also seated. Vice commander Vera who represents the elves, Vice commander Garan who represent the dwarfs and Vice commander Xiong who represent the beastmen had gathered in their newly built camp at the inner region of the ancient forest.
"Two commanders, one without troops and the other with troops. Commander, should we eliminate the one without soldiers?" Vice commander Garan asked.
Vice commander Vera suggested, "I think it’s better to capture or kill the one with troops. Didn’t the scouts say that the other commander is a fool? If the good commander is gone there would be turmoil in their camp."
The Lord Guardian Vega felt that both plans were plausible, but he had another plan in mind. He just didn’t know if they would be willing to do it. On the other hand, the eldest among the vice commander Xiong keenly noticed that the Lord Guardian also had a plan on his mind but was hesitant to share with them.
Vice commander Xiong speaks out, "If the commander had a plan in mind, we are all in ears. As a commander, you mustn’t hesitate especially in a situation where we are in advantage. As a member of the royal family of our tribe your commands are absolute. You only need to give the orders or lead yourself. We will follow you without question. Also don’t forget, this is the forest. In the forest all our three races had an advantage against humans."
As if being awakened by the words of this beastmen vice commander, Garan, Vera and Vega were a bit stunned. It seems they had forgotten to take account of the terrain. The forest itself was their advantage, especially for their Lord Guardian whose main ability is controlling wind and plants. This is the reason why the God of Destruction had chosen him to become the Guardian of the ancient forest.
Lord Vega relaxed a little when he heard the words of vice commander Xiong and said to the latter.
"Vice commander Xiong, thank you for your advice. Thanks to you my reluctance has faded. I’ve made a decision. Both the plans of vice commander garan and vice commander vera had suggested we will do it both. Actually, I planned to capture one human general to check whether they are hypnotized or if there is a way for us to remove the control over their minds." Lord Guardian said.
He added, "However, if we do this. That means we will have to capture most of the soldiers that other human generals have. After all, if the general is controlled then his soldiers would most likely be controlled as well."
"Then that other general must be killed. According to the scouts this general is a human trash. There is no need to keep this one alive," Vice commander Garan said. "If we are going to capture soldiers then I need to make a prison for them. I will make one with enough earth to house the captured humans."
"Create a warehouse and temporary hospitals as well as a carriage so those who were fatally injured would be sent back to the tribe for detailed healing," said Commander Vega to Vice commander Garan.
Vice commander Garan said, "Alright. Leave it to us. A few days will be enough."
He also gave instructions to the other commanders.
"Vera, you will keep a few elves who can merge with shadows and trees to scout. Keep on stealth and never show yourself unless your life is in danger. Once another group of reinforcements had come, they used flares to warn us."
"We will do it as silently as we can." Vice commander Vera said.
Commander Vega finally looked at Vice commander Xiong who can be said to be the strongest after him. He had given him the hardest mission.
"Vice commander Xiong, you will lead your troop in front. Kill one general and capture the other one as well as the soldiers who would surrender in the process. This is an order I gave you! Can you do it?" Lord Vega, the Lord Guardian and the commander asked.
The beastmen vice commander smiled showing his fangs and like him his beastmen warriors love this kind of mission the most.
Vice commander Xiong said, "We will complete this command as soon as possible! Await for our return."
It was only after the three missions were issued that Commander Vega had adjourned the meeting. The three vice commanders had left to join the group they are leading and begin doing their mission. As for the troops of Vice commander Xiong, he immediately informed the rest of his subordinates about their mission and like him, they also saw a wild and aggressive smile. After saluting to their commander, they prepare to head to the frontlines with Vice commander Vera’s small group to sneak into the enemy’s camp and focus on their own mission.
The whole afternoon had passed but the soldiers under General Hu Ying still hadn’t gathered and come over to support their leader. This made the mood of General Hu Ying so bad that he even vented on some soldiers under General Lei Shen.
General Hu Ying actually dares to use his authority to abuse some soldiers of General Lei Shen. Due to some difference in standing and authority some soldiers of General Lei Shen were powerless before General Hu Ying’s command. Only when the latter started beating soldiers just to vent his irritation that someone immediately reported to General Lei Shen about what was happening in the camp.
In his tent, General Lei Shen was reading some information he had brought from the military compound. He is actually feeling that something is wrong with his memories but no matter how much he tries to remember things, he can’t remember anything. What made it worse, trying to recall deeper would make him suffer headaches.
"I remember being summoned by the marshal together with the other generals that night. How come I couldn’t even remember what the hell happened? Is my memory finally failing me?" General Lei Shen murmured.
All of the sudden, one of his subordinates comes to find him full of urgency not only in words but also in his action. He frowned thinking that maybe the enemies had come to attack them. Just as he was ready to get into battle, he was stunned by the word he heard next.
"Lord General, General Hu Ying is abusing our soldiers. He seems to be venting on them for how his own troops are taking too long to arrive."
BAM!
Hitting the table in front of him in rage, General Lei Shen said, "He actually dares to make a move on my soldiers!! Where the hell is he!?"
"Answering to the Lord General, they are in the open field area outside the camp!" The soldier responded.
General Lei Shen stood up from his table and with a grim expression grabbed his weapon. He said to the soldier, "Lead the way!"
"Yes, Lord General!"
Meanwhile at the open area...
General Hu Ying was surrounded by beaten soldiers and some were even laying on the ground covered in dust and bruises. Under his foot is a loyal soldier of General Lei Shen and he was happily stomping on him and kicking him at the same time.
"You said I cannot order you! A damn commoner who becomes a soldier, no matter how many merits you gain a peasant is still a peasant!" General Hu Ying said with a crook smile on his lips.
The soldier under his feet didn’t seem willing to bow down and glare at General Hu Ying which just angered this superior more. The smile on Hu Ying’s face disappeared and a murderous intent flashed from within his eyes. It seems he was thinking of this rude soldier who had offended him thoroughly.
"How dare you look at me with those eyes?!"
Just as General Hu Ying was about to beat the hell out of this soldier, he was suddenly pulled back and thrown behind. He was about to curse out when he looked up to see an enraged Lei Shen looking at him with fierce gaze.
He immediately shut up as he knew that he had overdone it.
"Hu. Ying! How dare you harm my soldiers!" General Lei Shen shouted as he glared at the bastard who didn’t deserve to be called a general.
