Chapter 2055: 24.316 Sixth Violet Star - Borders

The death of Gu Yang had left a bad effect on the children who had witnessed it. They were frozen for the sight of blood and the last moment of Gu Yang’s death. Because of that they are now being targeted by the same monster that killed Gu Yang. This all because they failed to escape on time.

"Gege, how should we escape now!?" Haerin asked.

Long Juedi immediately covered the mouth of Haerin as the focus of the monster had ended on her. He seems to realize that this monster seems to find his prey through the sounds and that its eyes seem to be blurry. After knowing this, Long Juedi grabbed a fist size stone and threw it at the tree not faraway from them with enough strength to destroy the tree at least. The sound of the explosion was too loud and the monster turned in that direction as expected. When the others saw this, they also realized the weakness of the monster. The leader of their little group had also made a gesture telling them to split up and make some noise as they walked away. As long as there is the loudest sound among all sounds, the monster’s attention would end there. Everyone understood the plan and moved in pairs.

They were all heading in one direction which leads to the borders but they didn’t move in group as that would cause louder sound than when their number is minimal. They also did what Long Juedi had done to remove the monster’s attention from Haerin before. There are those who copied Long Juedi and made trees explode with raw powers; some use bells, some use bombs; all kinds of things that create sounds were used as they escape. Of course no one dares to speak as this is a clear sound compared to ordinary sounds.

But there is one thing they had forgotten, this beast is smarter than the other beasts and it took a while for it to filter and differentiate some sounds. While they were running away, they kept the monster in distance but as the monster got used to sounds, it learned what footsteps are. As long as there are sounds of footsteps if something was done by its prey.

The first one to notice the monster’s changes is Nagong Rui.

He gestured to everyone. "Something is wrong with the monster! It can distinguish it now!"

The first few who were caught were some dwarfs who ran the slowest. They were captured by its tentacles and were crushed on the spot.

Some of those who were captured were eaten and they could only scream at the last minute. Some of the older children, some who are older than Long Juedi and his class, choose to remain. No one tried to help those who were captured, especially if they were beyond saving. There was a time when Haerin was the one who was about to speak and the last one to speak before her was the Dwarf Princess, Shika. The monster was supposed to chase Haerin next as she was one currently screaming who would have thought that the monster would chase after Princess Shika. Her leg was captured and was being dragged down by the monster.

Dwarfs were born warriors first before being an artisan. Even in the face of death, it wouldn’t fear its killer or enemy. Once Princess Shika, the dwarf princess was captured. She glared at the monster and grabbed his big hammer.

"You damn monster! This princess is going to die with you!"

Dwarf Princess Shika had attacked the monster, but her attack was of no use. Just as she was about to be eaten by the monster, a spear came flying towards it rendering it to stop for a split second and she was carried away by Nan Jiang.

"You crazy bitch! Do you want to die like this!?" Nan Jiang screams and scolds her.

Long Juedi said, "Don’t shout! Run! We are near the borders."

"Let’s just bomb it!" Cao Heiji said.

When they finally entered the borders, suddenly the monster that was chasing after them. Stopped out of nowhere. It didn’t dare to cross the land that included the borderland. I was petrified as it looked at the land they were in as if it was afraid of something. Long Juedi and his team were both stunned and confused.

Nan Jiang said, "It’s not crossing the borders? But why!?"

"It is not really entering. How strange?" Cao Wanji said.

Elf Heva observed and said, "Does this mean there is something on this land that this thing is afraid of?"

"How can that be possible? Maybe it was just... tired?" Elf Princess Hevana said yet her tone seems to be full of disbelief as well.

Dwarf Princess Shika said, "No. It seems to be truly scared."

"But why would it be afraid?" Nangong Rui said.

Xue Laira said, "Maybe it would die if it entered this part of land?"

"If that’s the case then... does this mean it’s now our chance to kill it?" Nangong Rui said.

As soon as Nangong Rui said these words, the monster, as if it could understand their words, suddenly flinched and moved away from them like it was trying to escape. Everyone else noticed this and felt that this land seemed to be its weakness. Long Juedi was the first one to make a move and restrain it with tools. Seeing that it was retrained, the monster tried to run away.

Long Juedi said, "Drag it in!"

"YES!"

Everyone worked together to pull the monster inside the borders. The monster tried to struggle and even asked help to its monster through their contract and the connection.

In the military compound, Marshal Gu Ying was having a meeting. The sudden voice of his contracted beast rang in his head and stood up out of nowhere. The other soldiers looked at him strangely as the meeting was halted due to his abrupt movements. They all stare at him as if waiting for him to explain but he only glances at them coldly and speaks a few words.

"The meeting will pause for now."

After the Marshal, Gu Ying had said these words, he came out of the meeting room and headed to his office beside it. He stood in front of the wonder facing the directions of the borders and spread his divine consciousness to see what was happening with his contracted beast. After all, his contracted beast was still okay and even reported that it successfully killed Gu Yang which greatly weakened the influence of the original Gu Ying of his current vessel. Now he can only see his contract beast about to walk through its death.

Well, it was actually being dragged away by the two beloved children of heaven whom he can’t directly influence.

"They dare to try and kill my beast!"

Through their contract, Marshal Gu Ying sent some of his original qi trying to temporarily enhance the strength of the monster Long Juedi and his group was fighting against. It was also the killer of Gu Yang and the other youngsters as it chased after them.

After learning the monster’s weakness, they tried to kill it and avenge their friends. They can barely pull the monster towards them as it struggles to run away from the land under their feet. As if playing a tug of war, the monster and the group of youngsters were pulling at each other. The former just wanted to escape while the latter wanted to try why this monster is afraid of the borders. Whether it will die once it enters this area of land or not.

"Keep pulling!" Long Juedi said as he also exerted all his strength to the hand grabbing the tool that looks like a thick rope wrapped around it.

Hearing seeing the monster being pulled exclaims, "It’s working! Pull harder!"

Just as a part of the Monster’s tentacle was about to be dragged in the borders, an unknown energy was felt coming from the monster with the size of a small mountain. The first one to notice is Xue Laira, as a halfblood of a spirit born from nature, they were extremely sensitive towards energy.

Xue Laira’s thoughts: ’What the hell is this eerie aura coming from this monster? It feels dangerous! This is not good, I need to warn everyone!’
