Chapter 2138: 25.28 Lone Black Star - Royal Library’s Forbidden Area

The caretaker of the Royal Library’s Forbidden Area had welcomed the Emperor, the Empress, the duke and the duchess to the library. The old man looks like he is already on the verge of death yet he feels energized by something unknown to them. Then they looked at the young man who had appeared beside the old caretaker who was observing them with eyes not similar to that of a human child. Instead, he was staring at them with a profound gaze as if overlooking the whole world and that they, the royal family, is just another part of the history as a Chapter called the current era.

The Imperial Emperor speaks respectfully towards the elder. This is something passed on to everyone from the first line of the throne. They must respect the recorder of the history of the Royal family as they existed as old as the history of the whole empire itself.

"Elder Caretaker, I am the current reigning emperor of the empire and wish to see the original genealogy of the Royal Ye Clan. Please give me permission."

The old caretaker didn’t respond right away and only reached out his wrinkled skin and said, "A letter must be presented for the door to the forbidden area must be opened."

Upon hearing these words the Imperial Emperor finally realized what the caretaker was looking for and showed him the holographic screen of the message he had received when he had used his authority to check the origins of that young couple from the report. Everyone watched as the caretaker reached out his hand and touched the holographic screen. Something unexpected happened afterwards, the original blue screen fragmented as if it was something that can be touched.

Followed by this sound and the scene of the holographic screen breaking, an old golden key with a dragon handle fell on the hands of the caretaker. If the Imperial family didn’t see it for themselves they wouldn’t have believed that it had happened. The Duke tried to touch the key from the hands of the Caretaker but it only slipped from his fingers.

The caretaker didn’t seem offended by the actions of the duke and had a face as if he expected that reaction.

The old man spoke, "The key is something only the seated current monarch and the first emperor’s empress’s lineage can touch and it is one time use."

Upon hearing this the Imperial Emperor walked towards the caretaker and hesitated in reaching out for the key. He had seen his younger brother reaching for the key and touching nothing but air. If his hands passed through the key would that mean he is not the real emperor? That would be a disaster if that truly happened. Thankfully, what he had feared didn’t happen as the key was indeed solid when he picked it up from the caretaker’s hand.

The Duke asked in shock, "Brother, the key is real?"

"Yes. It’s solid," said the Imperial Emperor and stared at the key in his palm and said to his younger brother, "A’Jie, try picking it up again from my hand."

Lord Ye Jie did as he was told but like before everyone can see the key but only the reigning emperor can touch it.

"My empress, duchess, tried to touch the key as well. There is something I need to check," said the emperor.

Then something even more surprising had happened. Like the duke, the Imperial Empress couldn’t touch the key, however when the duchess tried to grab the key, he had unexpectedly touched it as a solid object like the emperor did.

"How is this possible!?" The duke, Lord Ye Jie exclaimed.

Unknown to them the calm, old caretaker was slightly surprised as well. Suddenly, he and the child beside him had lowered their heads before Mo Jing and the words they had spoken left everyone shocked as well.

"We greet the descendant of the First Empress, the creator of the forbidden library!"

Everyone exclaimed, "What did you say?!"

The caretaker was composed under the flabbergasted and questioning expressions of the royal family before them. He didn’t say much but informed them only one thing.

"All answers can be found inside the Forbidden Area."

The Imperial Emperor looked at the key the duchess had returned to his hand in panic just now and was now seeking comfort from his husband, the duke. He actually couldn’t believe that he had touched something only the emperor and not even his husband had been able to touch.

The Imperial Emperor gripped the key in his hand and looked at the strange door that appeared after the key had materialized.

He said, "Let’s go!"

Meanwhile, at the largest inn in the capital city.

The God of Destruction and the Sovereign God of Void and Darkness were napping when suddenly the voice of this world’s heavenly laws had been heard by them.

The voice didn’t linger as the two men listened to it nonchalantly. The group of four followed by the two caretakers of the forbidden library had finally entered inside the said place. They were welcomed by a towering library with countless kinds of books. It was as if they had entered another world, full of endless books. What made it mystical is that this interior felt as if they were inside some kind of a huge tree and was hollowed inside placing this library.

There are all kinds of book spirits flying around the place. It looks like a fantasy place which is completely different from their worlds which are controlled by star networks and futuristic technologies.

The book spirits looking like small pixies noticed their arrival but the first one they noticed wasn’t the group of royalties but the two caretakers behind them.

"The caretakers of the world library are here!"

"Did you bring us some sweets?"

"Wow, you look old 13th! Is this 14th?"

Seeing the hovering little fairies around the old caretaker who is calm upon seeing the book spirits and the young boy who seems cold and collected before now staring all around them with sparkling glowing eyes.

"13th brought some sweets. But be careful when eating alright," the 13th caretaker said as he waved his hand and a small pile of varying sweets appeared on the empty long table.

The small book fairies had all flown towards the table and picked a sweet that they had taken a liking to. It was such a boisterous scene yet the group of royal family members were ignored at the side watching the scene with shock and interest.
