Chapter 2240: 25.130 Lone Black Star - At the Camp

The words of the demigod beast were on point, the Sovereign God of Void and Darkness as well as the God of Destruction were once again covered in golden chains dragging them down. Lord Ye Xiajie didn’t mind this at all, but he didn’t want his beloved to keep on being suppressed like this even when asleep. He can only keep asking his natal weapon, Shenyuan, the God Slaying Sword, to keep on cutting these chains.

Lord Ye Xiajie waves his hand and a king size bed appears inside the tent. Due to their identities as this world, the tent that was provided for them was an extremely large one which was only used by the royal family. With their identities in this world, they can be considered royalties as well, the ancient kind. After gently putting his sleeping lover on the bed, Lord Ye Xiajie immediately created a defensive formation, that not only isolated the space within, but also prevented laws, even the soul of the planet itself, from noticing them. At least inside this barrier, no one can sense their existence.

After the barrier was made the dao chains on him and his wife had finally faded and he could finally sigh in relief. He sent Shenyuan back to his soul domain as he sat beside his sleeping wife trying to check what was wrong with him. This time however his qi was being rejected by something inside the God of Destruction’s body. Not knowing what should be done, he can only ask the other two souls inside the body.

What welcomed him is an awkward and slightly tense atmosphere between the two men. He was just gone for a while and these two, he didn’t know what was going on with them this time. Usually, the Hell Flames Lord was understanding towards the Immortal God of Yin and Yang. It is normal for the latter to be even more arrogant than they are as he is the soul of an immortal god despite him keeping dragging him and the Hell Flames Lord to be a set with him. Soul fragments of the original soul, or maybe an avatar for such an exalted person. That’s what they are, at least in the eyes of this immortal god.

The Dark Cosmic Lord couldn’t help but ask, "What the hell is wrong with you two?"

"He said he wanted to kill Jing’er. Just now he seems to be planning on something when he restrained Jing’er. Next time don’t let him easily take over our vessel. I won’t be able to forgive myself if he ends up harming him!" The Hell Flame Lord said.

The Immortal God of Yin and Yang tried to explain, "That’s not it... I didn’t..."

Under the wary gaze of the Hell Flames Lord and the Dark Cosmic Lord, the Immortal God of Yin and Yang now realized that taking over the body without the permission of the two would be close to impossible right now. After all, these two feel so guarded towards himself. It was actually his intention to harm the God of Destruction, he was just saying these words, he didn’t actually intend to do it. It was only now that he had realized that the reverse scale of these two men was actually the death of the God of Destruction.

Gods and divinities had different kinds of death. First is normal death. The kind of ending one’s life to start a new one. This is not reincarnation or something but simply living another life in a body that no longer houses a soul. A vessel with no soul would rot and return to earth. But there is a split moment before the clean cut from life to death happens. As long as someone took over the empty vessel at that time they could take over that person’s life. This is not a simple soul seized. It is more like taking over a body without a soul and only gods are capable of doing that as the divinity they possess prevents the decay of the body and instead heals it completely.

The next kind of death is reincarnation. After dying the process of entering a new cycle of life is called reincarnation. This kind of death is simply restarting a new life after one has ended. For divinities and gods, this is just a reseted version of themselves as they can keep their original souls even after reincarnation was completed.

True Death, this is the kind of ending in which a god or a divinity is truly dying. This is the death that is not revocable and it is the permanent kind. Its soul extinction, in short perishing for eternity. This is the kind of death all divinities and gods fear the most.

The Immortal God of Yin and Yang thought that the Hell Flames Lord was overreacting and tried to reason out that death is nothing to gods unless its true death. The Hell Flames Lord is annoyed and throws some memory orb towards him. He was confused at first and didn’t recognize the memory orb in his hand instantly. Only when he had accidentally played it and watched the countless times of the God of Destruction’s deaths. Moreover, since his memory orb was something this body had experienced, him seeing it was no different than experiencing for himself.

That slowly dulling lifeless and closing eyes. That deafening silence as if he was cut off from the world. The breathing that slowly eases to exist. The strong scent of blood and that cooling, motionless body within his embrace.

It was terrifying.

That was what the heart of the immortal god of yin and yang was saying to him. The sudden coldness which is different from the slight chill when they’ve touched. That heartbeat sounds which allows him to be able to sleep peacefully, and those silver eyes turn into a dark hue that signifies to be deprived of life itself. It was then that the Immortal God of Yin and Yang realized what fear is.

It was not a fear for his own death, or the fear of someone standing in front of you that was beyond your comprehension. But a fear of losing someone.

The fear of death of someone you love.

The Immortal God of Yin and Yang slowly felt it before he could even understand what was happening. Those experiences were slow deaths, normal death that happens to anyone that is not mortal. Even though he cannot completely understand it, the experience was vivid and it made even him an immortal god uncomfortable. Unknown to this immortal god, the feeling that is sprouting in him was something he never felt when he was still the Immortal God of Yin and Yang, a complete one.

"I am just saying those words, it was not real!" The Immortal God of Yin and Yang said.

Unfortunately, the Hell Flames Lord and the Dark Cosmic Lord were now on guard towards him.

Sigh~

"Forget about me for a moment," said the Immortal God of Yin and Yang. "Why did you come back so fast?"

"Did something happen to Jing’er?" The Hell Flames Lord asked.

The Dark Cosmic Lord didn’t hide it to them and tell them about the God of Destruction’s situation.

"I don’t know what actually happened. In the void, I had cut off the chains which you said was something you had placed on Jing’er. You also told me not to cut it, but when I heard about it, the chains were already gone and Jing’er fell unconscious until now." He looked enraged as he grabbed the collar of the Immortal God of Yin and Yang. "What the hell are those chains? Why is Jing’er in this situation?"

The Immortal God of Yin and Yang pushed the man who was grabbing his collar before composing himself and explained the situation.

"Those are chains made of Immortal Daos. This is a dao that isn’t supposed to exist in this world. It would be alright if you hadn’t cut it off. Taking it off would have been easy as well. But after that one slash from you, the Immortal Daos in that chain had exploded, causing everything around it to be nourished." The Immortal God of Yin and Yang added. "Too much dao is something you can’t easily digest especially with such weak souls like the three of you."

"Can you wake up, Jing’er?" The Hell Flames Lord asked.

The Immortal God of Yin and Yang nodded his head and said, "I can remove the Immortal Dao that entered his body. As long as most of it was removed in her body, she would wake up."

"How to remove it?" The Dark Cosmic Lord asked.

The Immortal God of Yin and Yang snorted and said, "I have to suck it out of him. You two cannot do it. You would end up unconscious, the same thing as Jing’er."

With a serious expression on his face, the Hell Flame Lord stood before the Immortal God of Yin and Yang, then finally said,
