Chapter 6345: Changes in the Depths of Space

“Am I hearing things? Tianjian Canhua looks prim and proper, so why is she making such a shocking request? You really can’t judge a person by their cover.”

Eggy was also shocked after hearing Tianjian Canhua’s words, but her expression was gloating. She wanted to see Chu Feng deal with this tricky situation.

“Miss Canhua is pulling my leg,” Chu Feng hurriedly replied. He averted his eyes to the humongous sword floating in the sky out of a guilty conscience.

“Do I look like I’m joking?” Tianjian Canhua asked.

Chu Feng turned to Tianjian Canhua. He didn’t say a word, but he reined in his smile and assessed her solemnly. He could tell that she was serious about it.

“Your decision seems a bit reckless,” Chu Feng pointed out.

“I, Tianjian Canhua, always think things through before making a move. Our Heavensword Sacred Palace has a secret art that requires a dao companion to learn. It’d be best if the dao companion is from our sect, but they don’t have to be. The most important requirement is that the dao companion has to be sufficiently strong. I want to marry you to advance my cultivation.

“I never thought I would ever need a man, but I have heard about your deeds and witnessed your strength. I believe you can help me advance further. I can’t guarantee success, but I’m willing to try, and I’ll honor our couple relationship even if we fail. I’ll fulfill my responsibility as your wife, and we will support each other in our cultivation.”

Chu Feng wanted to turn her down, but Tianjian Canhua added, “You aren’t married yet, right? There shouldn’t be a problem with me becoming your only wife.”

“My apologies, Miss Canhua. I’d like to focus on developing my bloodline instead,” Chu Feng replied.

“I understand. Your Heavenly Lightning Bloodline is formidable. There have been powerhouses with extremely powerful Heavenly Lightning Bloodline like yours in the Ancient Era too, but trust me, you’ll advance further if you obtain our Heavensword Sacred Palace’s bloodline,” Tianjian Canhua said.

The Divine Deer blurted out loud, “A frog in the well. Who told you that the Heavenly Lightning Bloodline is inferior to your Heavensword Sacred Palace’s bloodline?”

Those words weren’t just directed at Chu Feng; everyone could hear them.

Tianjian Canhua’s face turned livid, but she didn’t lose her temper. She quickly regained her composure and asked, “Are there other entities in your body? Is that your world spirit?”

Chu Feng was put in a spot. He didn’t expect the Divine Deer to refute Tianjian Canhua so bluntly, though he was planning to turn her down too.

“Miss Canhua, the one who has just spoken is an elder, but I’m afraid I can’t reveal his identity. However, I advise you not to say anything disrespectful to her. She’s not someone to be trifled with, and I won’t allow anyone to disrespect her either,” Chu Feng said.

He was blatantly shielding the Divine Deer.

“Oh? There’s a reason you’re so confident. Don’t worry, I don’t intend to disrespect your elder. Your elder is my elder too. However, I am only doing this out of respect for you. It doesn’t mean that our Heavensword Sacred Palace is intimidated by anyone. Even if not for our ancestor, our Heavensword Sacred Palace also wouldn’t fear any powers in the present world of cultivation,” Tianjin Canhua said confidently. There was a slight hint of threat in her voice.

Chu Feng smiled, but he didn’t respond to her remark.

“Is it because of Xianhai Yu’er? Are you reluctant to marry me because you’re in love with her? I’ll make an exception and allow you to take her as a concubine then,” Tianjin Canhua said.

“Miss Canhua, I don’t think you get what I mean. I’d like to focus on developing my Heavenly Lightning Bloodline,” Chu Feng replied.

“I don’t see a clash,” Tianjian Canhua replied.

“My mind is made up.”

Tianjian Canhua froze. Disbelief flickered across her eyes, and her confidence waned. She realized that Chu Feng wouldn’t agree to the marriage no matter what she said.

The world fell silent.

It was a long time before Tianjian Canhua finally moved. She smiled helplessly. “I would have never thought that my first confession would end in a rejection. Young master Chu Feng, I hope you won’t regret the decision you made today.”

“I hope so too,” Chu Feng replied.

Tianjian Canhua turned around and walked out.

Chu Feng followed her and asked, “So, Miss Canhua, where’s my grandmother?”

“I showed you our Heavensword Sacred Palace’s bloodline power because I feared you would think that I’m lying to you and reject me. I didn’t think you would reject me even after seeing it.” Tianjin Canhua’s voice was filled with disbelief. She couldn’t understand why someone would turn down such a good deal.

Putting aside her bloodline power, just her status, talent, beauty, and strength should be enough to win over anyone.

“Were you lying to me?” Chu Feng halted as he frowned in displeasure.

Tianjian Canhua also stopped to look at him. “Will you attack me if I deceived you?”

“I won’t resort to that, but I fear we can’t be friends anymore,” Chu Feng replied as he made his way out.

Shoosh!

A scroll flew to him. It unfurled itself, revealing a map.

“Our Heavensword Sacred Palace did find your grandmother’s trail, but it isn’t here. Feel free to look for her, but I can’t guarantee that you’ll find her,” Tianjin Canhua said.

After leaving the building, Tianjian Canhua turned to Tianjian Jiumeng and said, “Elder, escort them out.”

“Escort them out?” Tianjian Jiumeng was taken aback. She quickly realized what had happened, but she couldn’t believe it.

“It is as you have thought. Perhaps I am lacking. Escort them out,” Tianjian Canhua said with a bitter smile.

Tianjian Jiumeng glared at Chu Feng.

The others sensed something amiss. Something must have happened between Chu Feng and Tianjian Canhua.

Little Fishy’s gaze also turned cold. She stood beside Chu Feng, her eyes focused sharply on Tianjian Jiumeng. It was as if she would do everything she could to take down Tianjian Jiumeng if the latter made the slightest move.

“What happened, brother?” Wang Qiang asked.

“It’s nothing.” Chu Feng shook his head.

Tianjian Jiumeng was angry at Chu Feng for rejecting Tianjian Canhua.

His rejection was bound to have hurt Tianjian Canhua, possibly even affecting her path of cultivation. However, he did have the right to turn her down, so Tianjian Jiumeng chose not to say or do anything despite her anger.

Chu Feng boarded the warship and began leaving the area.

Wang Qiang anxiously asked, “Aren’t we going to l-l-look for your grandmother? Why are we turning back n-n-now?”

“I already know where my grandmother is,” Chu Feng replied.

GRARRR!

Space, in its entirety, suddenly trembled. A bizarre noise reverberated from the depths of space. The crowd was horrified. They looked toward the source of the noise with fearful eyes.

Even Tianjian Jiumeng looked uneasy.

The earlier noise wasn’t from a human, a monstrous beast, or any animal; it was a noise they had never heard before. It sounded like it was from hell, and it left the crowd suffocated in terror.

The noise only lasted an instant, but the trembling continued. It felt like something terrifying was about to emerge from the depths of space!
