Chapter 3375: Good News

Chapter 3375: Good News

This enemy was not foolish enough to let themselves be toyed with.

Of course, Lu Yin also was not foolish enough to remain entirely passive.

If Meng Sang refused to hand over the construction method for the springboards, then Lu Yin would rather have them all be destroyed.

He had made plans to build more springboards, chase after Meng Sang, and possibly even enter the Spirit Nidus.

Having the battlefield only be in the Tianyuan Megaverse placed them at too much of a disadvantage. Lu Yin needed to carefully strategize. If it was necessary to reset a megaverse, then as far as he was concerned, that megaverse should be the Spirit Nidus. The Lesser Spirit Megaverse was also a major concern. Allowing the High Seraph to reset that hidden megaverse and achieve Immortality would be a catastrophe for the Tianyuan Megaverse.

They had been forced to the edge of a cliff, and they were frequently being pushed to make choices or risk their lives.

“What? You don’t trust me?” Lu Yin demanded.

Meng Sang stared into Lu Yin’s eyes. “Are you planning to go to the Spirit Nidus?”

“Why do you say that?”

“I'll use this springboard to leave your megaverse, and then I need to keep making more springboards along the way, yet you never bothered to ask if I’d destroy them as I moved along, or if the Spirit Nidus would detect their destruction. You didn’t even ask if the Spirit Nidus will detect me making more springboards. You don’t care about that anymore. In fact, from the very beginning, your goal has been to learn how to make springboards,” Meng Sang declared. “You want to come to our Spirit Nidus and turn the tables.”

Lu Yin’s eyes flashed. That was indeed his goal.

He had wanted to use Meng Sang to make a springboard, and the best outcome would have been that, when the springboard was completed, he killed Meng Sang. That would have completed two goals simultaneously.

However, it was necessary to consider the possibility that Meng Sang would leave alive. If Meng Sang survived and left the Tianyuan Megaverse, he would have to build more springboards as he traveled, and in order to prevent Lu Yin or any others from following, the Seraph would undoubtedly destroy those springboards.

If it was necessary to allow Meng Sang to leave alive, then such matters meant nothing, as it would be impossible to control the man.

That was why the only choice was to go on the offensive and travel to the Spirit Nidus, changing the battlefield.

The Tianyuan Megaverse could be reset, but it might be possible to also reset the Spirit Nidus, given how long that megaverse had existed for.

It was a risky move that Lu Yin had already discussed with Wang Wen, Mister Mu, and Ancestor Lu Yuan, and they had all agreed that they would only make that move if they were forced to.

Going to the Spirit Nidus could not be done covertly, like when Lu Yin had infiltrated the Perennial World or the Sixverse Association. His aura as a being from another megaverse would be distinct and easily noticed in the Spirit Nidus. The High Seraph was at least as strong as the Origin Progenitor, which was why a counter-invasion had only been discussed. No exact strategy had been determined yet.

Before anything, they needed to first obtain the method to build springboards.

As for Meng Sang, his life or death would have to be left to fate.

If they could catch him, it would be best to kill him. If not, then things would be settled in the Spirit Nidus.

The distant astral phenomenon that served as a springboard started to restabilize.

"If you try to harm me, the springboards will all be destroyed," Meng Sang threatened.

Lu Yin shrugged. "I know. Relax, I won't go back on my word. You can leave. You just need to give us the construction method for the springboards."

Meng Sang stared at Lu Yin. "Do you really intend to go to the Spirit Nidus? That’s a death wish."

"If I'm seeking death, then doesn’t that perfectly align with your Spirit Nidus's goals?"

"We can work together."

Lu Yin was surprised. "Cooperate?"

Meng Sang grew solemn. "The High Seraph has deceived everyone, monopolizing the Lesser Spirit Megaverse in his attempt to enter the Immortal Realm. Until he succeeds, he will remain as the High Seraph, which means that he is subject to the same constraints as the other Seraphs. That is why Yuan Qi wasn't killed, but rather exiled to your Tianyuan Megaverse. The High Seraph is not yet the ruler of the Spirit Nidus, but if he becomes an Immortal, that will all change.

"If you make it to the Spirit Nidus, I'll work with you to take the High Seraph down."

Lu Yin laughed. "You want to use me to divert the High Seraph’s attention so that you can go to the Lesser Spirit Megaverse, right?"

Meng Sang was straightforward. "Yes, I want to use you."

It was the same exchange as before. Lu Yin had once openly told Meng Sang that he wanted to use the Seraph, and this time, Meng Sang was openly admitting the same to Lu Yin.

Each was honest about using the other. If Lu Yin made it to the Spirit Nidus, in order to prevent the High Seraph from resetting the Lesser Spirit Megaverse, he would indeed need to cooperate with Meng Sang.

The final outcome would all depend on who possessed superior tactics.

Lu Yin wanted to prevent both the High Seraph and Meng Sang from becoming Immortals, while Meng Sang wanted to have Lu Yin deal with the High Seraph so that Meng Sang would be the only one to achieve Immortality.

Whoever succeeded would dominate all three megaverses.

Lu Yin looked over at the springboard. It was the same scenario again. When it came to the springboards, neither of them had gained any advantage, but because of the Lesser Spirit Megaverse, Lu Yin could not afford to lose.

Meng Sang’s suggestion had another purpose as well; he wanted to prevent Lu Yin from catching up to him before he reached the Spirit Nidus.

He was being forced to share the method for making the springboards, which meant that, as soon as Meng Sang left the Tianyuan Megaverse, Lu Yin’s people would undoubtedly start either building springboards, or follow right behind the Seraph.

Meng Sang did not intend to travel the maximum distance with each springboard. Instead, he would stop somewhere before that so that Lu Yin could not follow him. However, doing this would also increase the amount of time he needed to return to the Spirit Nidus.

In the end, there was no way to be certain who would reach the Spirit Nidus first.

If Lu Yin caught up to Meng Sang and the Seraph had no leverage to work with, then he would be easily surrounded and killed. That was why he was trying to demonstrate his value for the future as well.

If Lu Yin went to an entirely unfamiliar universe, it would be better if there was someone familiar with the place cooperating with him.

Everyone could understand such logic, and everyone would do what they could to survive.

Even the Seraphs, who already stood at the peak of a megaverse, were no exception to this.

In order for both parties to be at ease, Meng Sang shared the construction method of the springboards with Lu Yin, but he did so while standing on the completed springboard.

The springboard then activated, and Meng Sang disappeared.

"The Tianyuan Megaverse, the Consciousness Megaverse, and the Spirit Nidus... We've been on the defensive this entire time. Going to the Spirit Nidus is imperative, but we also need to learn more about the Consciousness Megaverse," Mister Mu stated.

Lu Yin stared out past the stone gate. "The Spirit Nidus rarely uses even one springboard, and Meng Sang on his own is even less likely to do so casually. It will take him sixty years to return to the Spirit Nidus, but that means that we also need to build springboards as quickly as possible.

"If we don’t, then as soon as he returns to the Spirit Nidus, they’ll learn the truth of the situation here."

Lu Yin had never thought of using the springboards that Meng Sang built. Regardless of whether they could even be found, Meng Sang would certainly destroy everything after he used the springboards to avoid his pursuit. That was not even a question.

Lu Yin could only rely on his own people.

"I’ll build the springboards. They aren’t complicated. Also, since this one hasn’t been destroyed, we can base the next ones on the maximum distance that this one can cover," Mister Mu said.

Lu Yin hesitated. If Mister Mu built the springboards, it would mean that him leaving the Tianyuan Megaverse.

To be honest, Lu Yin was uneasy about the idea of Mister Mu leaving.

The greatest threat was still True God.

No one could say how long the Great Sovereign's Six Paths of Reincarnation Realm would hold on for, and the worst case scenario was that it was already useless. It was possible that True God was only pretending to still be restrained because he did not want to help the Spirit Nidus. Tian Ci, Bao Qi, and the old man had all essentially been betrayed by True God. There was no doubt that there were reasons behind that.

If Mister Mu left, as long as the Origin Progenitor needed to suppress the sequence strings, it would be difficult for the Tianyuan Megaverse to find anyone powerful enough to go against True God.

Lu Yin readily admitted to himself that he still was not True God’s opponent.

He shared his concerns, but Mister Mu remained silent.

True God was highly intelligent, and every step he took had a definitive purpose. While Aeternus had already been destroyed, that accomplishment could not be credited to Lu Yin alone. Ever since the ancient Heavens Sect era, the Origin Progenitor, Mister Mu, the Three Realms and Six Daos, and later on, the Nine Mountains and Eight Seas had all contributed to that effort, as had countless others. It had taken all of them to achieve victory.

Lu Yin had merely been the catalyst that had led to Aeternus's downfall.

If True God was left unchecked, no one could anticipate what he might do.

The Spirit Nidus was actually unwilling to allow its own people to reset a megaverse, so it was no surprise that True God would not want the Spirit Nidus to join him when he reset the Tianyuan Megaverse.

His goal had always been to reset the Tianyuan Megaverse.

In the end, Lu Yin went to Chu Yi and asked him to build the springboard.

One had to at least be an Ortuser to build a springboard, and Lu Yuan was not suitable for such a task. He had no advantage over Meng Sang, but Chu Yi was different. The Dao of One Heavens was enough to at least ensure that Chu Yi would not be killed by Meng Sang.

Soon, Chu Yi was standing on the springboard. As the astral phenomenon activated, the nearby space trembled, and Chu Yi vanished.

"A year from now, he will be as far as this springboard can send him. Let’s hope that he doesn’t encounter Meng Sang," Mister Mu commented.

Meng Sang was worried that Lu Yin would send people after him and attack him, but where could the Tianyuan Megaverse gather enough experts to surround and kill a Dukkhan?

"Unless something unexpected happens, I’ll be making my way to the Spirit Nidus in no more than forty years," Lu Yin murmured.

Mister Mu looked over at Lu Yin. "If you go to the Spirit Nidus, it will be impossible for you to hide who you are. The entire megaverse will be your enemy—the High Seraph, the Seraphs, and even Master Qing Cao. I will accompany you."

Lu Yin did not refuse. This was a war between megaverses, and unless he became an Immortal, he would be too vulnerable on his own.

He had not yet decided if it would be better to shift the entire war to the Spirit Nidus, or just send a small team. Regardless, Lu Yin himself definitely needed to go. He had found that his path forward to becoming a Sequence Progenitor was not something that he could accomplish in the Tianyuan Megaverse. The sequence bases that he needed could only be found in the Spirit Nidus.

He needed to go to the Spirit Nidus to grab those sequence bases. The Gate of Laws was his primary target.

Before leaving, he first needed to deal with True God, the Nests, and any other threats that remained in the Tianyuan Megaverse. If not, it would be impossible for Lu Yin to take Mister Mu and any others with him.

After he returned to the Heavens Sect, he was met by several pieces of good news.

For six months, Lu Yin and Mister Mu had been closely monitoring Meng Sang. They had not dared to be careless for even a moment, so that he would not escape. No one had dared to disturb the two men.

For that reason, Lu Yin had not received news of some good things that had happened recently.

To begin with, Wu Tian had broken through and become an Ortuser.

This news thrilled Lu Yin.

The more Ortusers the Tianyuan Megaverse had, the more Lu Yin could relax.

As Ortusers, the Three Realms and Six Daos were in no way weaker than Dukkhans, especially those like Astral Anura. Before becoming Ortusers, the Three Realms and Six Daos were already capable of holding their own against such experts. Even in the Spirit Nidus, the Seraphs, without a sequence base, were at best as strong as the Three Realms and Six Daos as Ortusers.

Wu Tian’s breakthrough was something for the entire Tianyuan Megaverse to celebrate over.

After that, there was some good news from the Five Spirits Alliance. In one parallel universe, a great deal of material had been found that was suitable for building mechas.

Many of the Infinity Empire’s mechas had been heavily damaged during the recent battles, especially the ones at the Tianyuan Megaverse’s boundary. During those two battles alone, nearly half of their mechas had been lost. Even so, the mechas had been almost invaluable, and without their sacrifice, the Tianyuan Megaverse would have lost Ortusers instead.

The discovery of a great deal of suitable materials in a parallel universe caused Lu Yin to immediately order the production of more mechas.

Finally, there were new developments in the microarray research. Aside from the 108-array combination microarrays entering mass production, Grandmaster Gu Yan, together with Grandmaster Xiu Ming, had discovered another direction for microarray technology: timing.

The details needed to be discussed further in the Five Spirits Alliance’s universes.
