Chapter 3821: Absolutely Irrelevant

Chapter 3821: Absolutely Irrelevant

Qian Shu interjected, "Young Lady, you do not need to pay any attention to this man. Too many in our megaverse know who you are. Even creatures from defeated megaverses are aware of your existence. This person is merely making a spectacle."

Ying Mei solemnly said, "If you have any questions about this man, then after my Autumnspring Slip has captured him, you may ask him anything you wish."

When she finished speaking, the ground trembled, and characters shot into the sky. Granny Ya, Mr. Mo, and more of the Autumnspring Slip’s experts stepped forward as one. A Suppress (镇) character appeared in front of each person before its power merged together. They used the mirebound artifact as the foundation to set up a massive formation that pressed down upon Lu Yin.

He frowned at the sight. Similar to the Ruler Garden, the Autumnspring Slip had techniques that could be used cooperatively. As expected, the more advanced the civilization was, the more complex their methods would be.

The Nine Odysseys Megaverse resembled what the Tianyuan Megaverse could become after countless years of uninterrupted development. The megaverse had even plundered the resources and cultivation arts of the Spirit Nidus. This was a true monster of a civilization.

At that moment, the cold glint of a blade appeared outside of the Autumnspring Slip’s territory. Long Yin had arrived, and she was leading the women of Deathmound’s Third Peak. It was clear that they had arrived to support Lu Yin.

An old man rose into the sky from the ground and stood directly in front of the Autumnspring Slip’s experts. “Ying Mei, don’t go too far. So many from the Autumnspring Slip are attacking just one person. My Luo family of the Skyward Gate cannot just stand by and watch this.”

Ying Mei’s face fell. Both Deathmound and the Luo family had stepped forward to help Lu Yin. Both factions had always been the Autumnspring Slip's enemies, so they were simply adding insult to injury when the opportunity presented itself.

Lu Yin glanced at the old man and received a nod. So it’s him.

This old man was the same person who had asked to inspect Lu Yin’s token at the Skyward Gate. Because of Cheng Gong, the man had insisted on checking Lu Yin’s token. Only after Lu Yin threatened Luo Ning’s life had the old man opened the gate. Without that brief delay, Qian Shu and Granny Ya would not have had enough time to act against Lu Yin.

Essentially, the Luo family had worked with the Autumnspring Slip to drive Lu Yin out of the Skyward Gate.

However, the only reason why the Autumnspring Slip had targeted Lu Yin was because of Luo Ning. The Autumnspring Slip and the Luo family had long since been enemies, and Lu Yin had simply gotten caught in the middle of their feud.

At this moment, the Luo family was helping Lu Yin not just to oppose the Autumnspring Slip, but also because they were hoping to retrieve Luo Ning from Lu Yin, even if that was nothing more than a pipe dream.

“The Autumnspring Slip has not violated any laws and has no criminals. If the people of Deathmound dare to force their way in, we will kill them without mercy,” Ying Mei growled. She then turned to the Luo family elder. “And as for the Skyward Gate’s Luo family, should you dare to interfere, the Autumnspring Slip will immediately declare war on you. No quarter will be given, and no retreat will be allowed.”

The old man’s eyes narrowed. “Are you threatening my Luo family?”

Ying Mei simply ignored the man and looked back at Long Yin. Deathmound’s Third Peak was certainly capable of causing a great deal of trouble, but they would never dare to openly fight against the Autumnspring Slip. If they were willing to do that, there was no doubt that Peak Lord Long Yin would be removed from her position. That would far surpass merely causing trouble for a sect.

There were plenty of people who wanted to step in and lend Lu Yin their support, and there were undoubtedly even more who were secretly looking for an opening that they could use to make trouble for the Autumnspring Slip. However, would any of them have the courage to reveal themselves?

Those who wished to assist Lu Yin were powerless to act, but those who wanted to support the Autumnspring Slip also did not dare step forward. While the Autumnspring Slip might be able to stand up to Lu Yin, the groups that wished to get closer to the sect certainly could not.

At that moment, Lu Siyu stepped forward. An Ortuser from the Autumnspring Slip moved to block her path, preventing her from moving any further forward, yet he could not prevent her from speaking. “Sect Master Ying Mei, is the Autumnspring Slip truly going to attack this man?”

Ying Mei frowned and looked over. “This old woman respects Greater Sancte Green Lotus, but even if the Greater Sancte were personally present, he would neither allow this man to insult my Autumnspring Slip so blatantly, nor directly address the young lady by her name. She received her name from Greater Sancte Green Lotus himself—you should understand what that means.

“Given your status as one of Greater Sancte Green Lotus’s nominal disciples, as well as someone from the Four Commands Sword Sect, I’ve overlooked the fact that you have repeatedly defended this man, but please, don’t go too far.” As the old woman spoke, she made it a point to direct a warning glare at Ming Xiaolong as well.

Lu Siyu just sneered. “Save the pointless words. If you truly respected my master, you would have never dared to lay a hand on that man.”

Ying Mei was taken aback, and her expression changed quite noticeably as she stared at Lu Siyu. “What does that mean?”

Qian Shu, Granny Ya, Mr. Mo, and everyone else from the Autumnspring Slip turned to look at Lu Siyu. Could the man below really have a connection to Greater Sancte Green Lotus?

Lu Siyu arrogantly raised her head. Despite being veiled, her fair, delicate neck was fully visible. “All of you must have heard about what happened in the Four Commands Sword Sect by now. The one who helped my father, Lu Sizhan, become the Four Commands Grand Swordmaster was this man.”

Everyone was shocked. Him?

Ying Mei’s face grew pale, and Qian Shu and the others could not believe what they were hearing.

Had it actually been this man?

The events that had taken place in the Four Commands Sword Sect had long since spread across the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. Given that the Autumnspring Slip was currently in Ridgeplain and was relatively close to the Four Commands Sword Sect, it was only natural for the sect to be aware of the goings-on of their current neighbors.

Rumors claimed that a man who had emerged from the Sea of Karma had helped Lu Sizhan seize the title of Sword Master, and he had even allowed the man to enter Dukkha, making him a true Four Commands Grand Swordmaster.

That man’s identity had remained unknown to outsiders, as the Four Commands Sword Sect had sealed off all information related to Lu Yin, though the events themselves had been publicized.

No one had considered that Lu Yin could be the same person who had interfered with the Four Commands Sword Sect.

Ying Mei turned to stare at Lu Yin. “That was you?”

Lu Yin gave a small smile. “That was me.”

Ying Mei clenched her teeth. How could it have been this man? This meant a great deal more trouble. During the competition to determine the Four Commands Grand Swordmaster, Ming Zhou, one of Greater Sancte Green Lotus’s true disciples, had been present. He had publicly acknowledged that the man who had interfered in the competition had emerged from the Sea of Karma. That alone meant that there was a connection between Lu Yin and the Greater Sancte. That gave him a status equal to the Seven Fairies. What could the Autumnspring Slip do? Kill the man? That would be no different than slapping the Sea of Karma across the face. Even if the man did not have a direct connection to the Greater Sancte, just the fact that he had emerged from the sea and had a close relationship with Ming Zhou was enough to deliver a calamity to the Autumnspring Slip.

Greater Sancte Green Lotus’s disciples were scattered throughout the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. There were more than just the Seven Fairies and Ming Zhou. There were some whose identities were secret.

If all of those people decided to avenge Lu Yin and target the Autumnspring Slip, attacking the man would be like kicking a hornet’s nest. Even if the Autumnspring Slip managed to survive, they would suffer severe losses. On top of that, with Deathmound, the Luo family, the Everchange Valley, and even the Four Commands Sword Sect watching from the sides, how would the Autumnspring Slip possibly be able to retain its current status?

The more that Ying Mei considered the situation, the worse her expression became.

The faces of Granny Ya and the others had turned completely ashen. They felt as though they had offended Greater Sancte Green Lotus himself, which would be no different from the sky falling upon them.

Lu Yin shook his head. “You don’t need to worry about any of that. I have absolutely no connection to Greater Sancte Green Lotus. I can tell you that directly.”

Lu Siyu felt exasperated, and she shot a glare at Lu Yin. “What is this nonsense?”

Ming Xiaolong tried to communicate with Lu Yin with her eyes. “You clearly left the Sea of Karma. How could you possibly have no connection to the Greater Sancte?”

Lu Yin waved the questions away. “It’s unnecessary to scare people with the Sea of Karma. This is a personal grudge between me and the Autumnspring Slip. I, Lu Yin, don’t need to borrow Greater Sancte Green Lotus’s name to handle my own affairs. Ying Mei, do whatever you feel like you need to.”

Ying Mei remained extremely wary, and she desperately wanted things to just end here. No matter what relationship Lu Yin had with the Sea of Karma, just knowing that he had emerged from the Sea of Karma was enough to make her hesitate.

“I’m right here, within the Autumnspring Slip’s territory.” Contempt dripped from Lu Yin’s voice. “You have a chance to surround and kill me. If you don’t, then give me Qian Shu and that wretched servant, and we’ll call things even.”

Ying Mei stared at Lu Yin, and her voice dropped low. “Are you really going to insist on pushing things as far as possible?”

Lu Yin coldly retorted, “They pushed me out of the Skyward Gate. It’s time to settle the score.”

Ying Mei’s eyes flickered, filling with bloodlust and a vicious glint. While she did not want Lu Yin as an enemy, how could she possibly give him Qian Shu? That man was the future of the Autumnspring Slip.

“My Autumnspring Slip is willing to pay to end things here. Your earlier insults will even be forgotten. I hope that you will stop pressing the issue.”

Lu Yin simply clasped his hands behind his back. “Hand them over.”

Ying Mei gritted her teeth, her fury rising. “Do you truly wish for mutual destruction?”

Lu Yin scoffed. “You’re not worthy of that.”

Ying Mei nodded and sneered. “Very well. In that case, you can’t blame me.”

She looked up, turning to address the surrounding spectators. “Do all of you know this man’s origins?”

People glanced at each other, confused as to why Ying Mei was bringing that matter up at this moment. Granny Ya had already mentioned that Lu Yin was from the Spirit Nidus.

Ying Mei said, “This man, Lu Yin, is from the Spirit Nidus. Upon arriving in the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, he meddled in the competition to decide the Four Commands Grand Swordmaster, and he is now openly provoking my Autumnspring Slip. His grudge is not without merit, as it was indeed my disciple, Qian Shu, who sensed that the man harbors ill will towards our Nine Odysseys Megaverse and thus drove out of the Skyward Gate. Originally, I had intended to settle things quietly, but this man is extremely powerful and has also colluded with the Four Commands Sword Sect, leaving me with no choice but to risk offending the Sea of Karma by taking action against him.”

Qian Shu stepped forward. “When the High Seraph slew Ru Shi, he made it difficult for any from the Nine Odysseys Megaverse to enter the Spirit Nidus, greatly restricting our knowledge of that megaverse. This man has allied with the High Seraph to scheme against our Nine Odysseys Megaverse. Before, he lured an Immortal beast to the Skyward Gate. Had we not acted swiftly, that monster would have entered our megaverse. Luo family, tell me if I am wrong!”

Everyone in the Autumnspring Slip’s territory was stunned. An Immortal beast?

Even Lu Siyu and Ming Xiaolong were taken aback. They had known nothing of that matter.

Qing Yun turned to stare off into the distance.

The elder from the Luo family’s expression fell. “At the time-”

“Just tell us this: did this man lead the Immortal beast to our megaverse or not?” Granny Ya shouted in a sharp tone.

The old man’s eyes narrowed. “Yes.”

The crowd looked at Lu Yin in an entirely different manner, and Qian Shu sneered. “You’ve colluded with the High Seraph and lured an Immortal beast to the Skyward Gate by working with the Spirit Nidus’s Qing Cao. Now, you are conspiring with the Four Commands Sword Sect. Lu Yin, just what exactly is your goal?”

After Lu Yin heard Ying Mei and Qian Shu’s accusations, he could not help but be impressed. “Well spoken! Truly, well said. You’ve mixed fact with fiction to stir the Nine Odysseys Megaverse’s hatred and contempt for the Spirit Nidus. You’ve used your words to disrupt the world and sway people’s hearts. No wonder you’ve inherited the Autumnspring Slip—your skill in twisting black and white is impressive.”

It was true that the High Seraph had killed Ru Shi and drawn the hatred of the entire Nine Odysseys Megaverse. People had originally looked down on the other three megaverses, and Ru Shi’s death had only further stoked their desire to kill the High Seraph. Lu Yin had already been aware of this, as Yue Ya’s attitude had made that abundantly clear.

Qian Shu had led with that incident and then mentioned the Immortal monster. Both of those incidents were facts, and that led everyone to have the misleading impression that Lu Yin was an enemy of the Nine Odysseys Megaverse. Ying Mei had even emphasized that she was willing to offend the Sea of Karma for the sake of removing this threat, which had planted a seed of concern in the people listening.

Just a few words had managed to push Lu Yin into being perceived as an enemy of the entire Nine Odysseys Megaverse, while also minimizing the potential backlash that the Autumnspring Slip might face from the Sea of Karma.

“Lu Yin, no matter how eloquent you may be, you can’t change the facts!” Qian Shu shouted. “The High Seraph deliberately killed Lesser Sancte Ru Shi in order to prevent our Nine Odysseys Megaverse from accessing the Spirit Nidus. He openly mocked our dignity and dealt a massive blow to many powers here. Let me tell you one more thing.”

He stared at Lu Yin with frigid eyes. “The Ruler Garden has been annihilated.”

The crowd erupted. “The Ruler Garden has been annihilated?”

“How is that possible? The North Domain’s Ruler Garden?”

“Weren’t they sealed off...”

Qian Shu loudly continued, “Ruler Garden was exterminated because they violated the law. What law did they break? They interfered with the lower three megaverses.

“If you don’t believe me, you can ask Peak Lord Long Yin.”

Everyone turned to look at the woman who stood beyond the Autumnspring Slip’s territory.

She denied nothing, as it was true that the Ruler Garden had been destroyed.

While the Ruler Garden’s fate had been sealed from public knowledge, it was not hard for anyone who was determined to uncover the truth to learn what had happened.
